I would bet real money there would be a ****storm the likes of which this game has never seen. And it would probably be followed up by a lawsuit citing discrimination.

If women were NOT allowed to play on particular server, oh, that's discrimination and shouldn't be allowed. But it would be okay to make a server that ONLY women can play on, and that ISN'T discrimination?

So, I guess if you are adversely affected by something it's discrimination, but if it has a positive effect for you it isn't? Is that what I'm to understand here?

How silly of me to not see how it makes perfect sense to fight discrimination against women by discriminating against men.
You know, sometimes, for just a second, I think if everyone got together and ****** each other to get rid of the race argument, and amalgamated all the relegions into alahgishubudagodism, the world would be just fine. Then I realize these are just excuses to make us feel better about ourselves, and we will always find some other way to oppress a poulation.

If you get rid of all the things we can discriminate against now, you'll still be left with gender. And if by some miracle that gets abolished, it will be something like left-handed people or something equally silly.

I always loved that classic Star Trek episode with the aliens who were split into two groups: the ones who were white on the right side and black on the left and the other group who were the reverse of that.

The two groups hated each other for their obvious "difference" but the clear social commentary raised by the episode was that their struggle was ultimately absurd and pointless. Is there nothing that Star Trek can't teach us?

Exactly. Maybe I can just hope the new discriminations would be interesting, this male/female, black/white crap is boring. Can't we just dislike people because they are dislikable?

I watched a documentary where they did an experiment on kids in grade school and how quickly the kids embraced prejudice over eye color. They were told people with a certain eye color were superior and treated them better then watched how the kids reacted.

Anyone remember the Fairly Oddparents episode where Timmy wishes everyone was the same, then everyone got turned into grey blobs and all the color was drained out of the world, well his jerk dentist neighbor was still a jerk because he thought he was the greyest of all, yeah people will always think one group is better then the other, hate to say it, but that is reality.

Also I want a blonde only server because I am sick of all the dumb blonde jokes. :P

This. And no, there is nothing that Star Trek can't teach us, nothing at all. Star Trek was (is, will be) it's very best with episodes like this.

I will leave with this (dunno if it's been mentioned before in the thread)... do you see men in womens professional or olympic gymnastics, swimming, softball, skating, or, dare I say it, the LPGA (golf)? That last is highly important. Why? Because a woman attempted to compete in the PGA, and it didn't work out very well... but hey, if that can happen, why not a guy who isn't as competitive in the PGA 'drop down', if you will, to the LPGA and kick their buttocks?

No?

Interesting.

And that's all I got.

/yes, I know it's a server vs sports, but really... CoH is best integrated, and let's leave it at that, shall we?

The only server I don't play on is Freedom. Not sure if that would define my sanity or not though.

Personally, I have an issue with Black History month, Asian History Month, Famous Women History month and a few others. Mainly because there isn't a corresponding White Male History month.

Regarding me and prejudice, I probably have some, most people do. However, I can say that I am not influenced by race or gender when it comes to reasons for me liking or not liking someone. I have many friends that are not of the same coloring as myself. Same goes for friends of different genders. Some of the people that I dislike the most are my own gender and coloring.

TL;DR - I'm not prejudiced, I hate everyone.

In fact, I cannot say what "men" actually think of this due to my 5th Amendment right.

You know, I saw a villain with "Sinister" in their name yesterday and this is really unacceptable. As we all know, Sinister is derived from the Latin Sinistra meaning 'left'. As a left handed person I feel that allowing players to make "sinister" characters is really insulting and that Sinister should be added to the in-game profanity filter.

Me: Thanks I worked for a while on this costume.
iFail: a/s/l?

iFail: XY? are you sure not XXX?
Me: ...
iFail: wanna cyber?
Me: No I prefer my sexual encounters face to face. I gave you my location in GPS coordinates. Just plug them into a GPS and follow the route it gives you. I'll be waiting. This time I think I'll wear the French Maid outfit.
iFail: Holy **** ive got to go to the store.

About 30 minutes later...

iFail: wt* it says your in the middle of death valley
Me: You just wasted money on a gps didn't you?
iFail: long string of expletives deleted
Me: Let me spell it out for you Derivative of 26x + 105 is 26 years old, XY is my chromosomes guys have a Y chromosome, and as you just found out the coordinates I gave you are in Death Valley. You could have figured this out if you weren't typing with one hand.
iFail: another long string of expletives followed by "you owe me the money i spent on this gps"
Me: No I don't. You just paid a stupid tax because you didn't take the time to figure out if I was being truthful about my location to a random stranger on the internet. Also I wasn't truthful about the French Maid outfit. Its actually an Oscar the Grouch costume.
iFail: wut?
Me: Exactly.

I'm pretty shocked myself. From what I understand these forums are pretty tightly leashed. I'm sure there are other places to talk about this stuff though if this thread gets locked.

I play the game for fun, and shouldn't have to worry about people living in their mothers basement or 13 year old boys who should be in school.
Whoever set up the TS server (assuming it's privately managed) should be able to step in and moderate the discussion. If they don't, you're running with the wrong crowd.

Someone pointed out you don't need voice comms to get a Master Keyes run. I can confirm this. If you need help on getting this and you happen to be on Freedom, gimme a holler and I'll put you into the mix (I have to score up another team for someone who missed our Master runs last week anyway). If you're on another server (I didn't check your post history), lemme know which one and I'll see if I know someone there who can help. (Probably not, but hey, you never know.)

The people I run with are by far and large top notch, and I've been seeing the game through their eyes for over half a decade. I don't tolerate absence of social niceties in any situation, and neither should you.

The whole female-only server thing, though, that just won't work, even just considering logistics. Who's going to check?

It must have been weird living on Cheron, waking up every single day and seeing your most hated enemy in the mirror.

Indeed. There's absolutely no question that tank tops and scoop necks are thermodynamically smaller conductive barriers to heat energy transfer than T-shirts with high necklines. No, I don't, really... But I guess accept someone's approach, laugh at a joke he tells and don't IMMEDIATELY cut him off and you're already dating him unwittingly.

I was lucky enough that the guy wasn't a creep, just... A kid, probably, to be honest. So I told him I'm a guy and he went off to chat up some other G.I.R.L. I felt so rejected...
I actually have had several people in the past believe I was a girl because, and I quote one woman's reaction when she learned I was not, "you're to nice to be guy". (Yea, I know ... ) I also have a lot of female characters and apparently I make them in a way that looks like they were made by a girl, or so people tell me. I take it as a compliment.

I also broke a guy's hearth once. He was a guy (in his late teens) who I had been playing with for a couple of weeks. He sought me out everyday to team up when he saw I was online. One day he started that whole 'I like you' conversation, and I reacted with something in the line of 'Woa, sorry man but I'm really not into guys', assuming he knew I was male. Then he asked 'Oh, so you are gay?' Which was the point where I clued in to the situation (dur) and told him that I was a guy. He was then quiet for a minute, said 'Oh' and promptly logged out. I didn't see him online for over a week after that. He later apologized for the misunderstanding (which wasn't needed imo) and we still teamed some together a couple of times. I haven't seen him online in over 3 years now though.

Ahhh.. the ol' BET argument.

and the truth to the matter is that every month is white history month ergo you dont need a white history month, or a white anything for that matter. <---edit ----> caucasions of european descent are the dominant culture in the US at this time and I dont mean that in an inflamatory or denigrating way since that can certainly change with time.
