At the same time, I do see a lot of posts about people potentially leaving their home server in order to join the VIP one. I seriously hope that they aren't going to offer VIP content on one server specifically.

Also, I don't see a crushing tidal wave of dumb cresting over the war walls as we scream in terror at the oncoming AOLspeak tsunami. We have griefers now. Who pay $15 a month to annoy us. Think they're going to go away on the new servers? No, they'll follow you and now be elitist obnoxious idiots. Not worth the trouble of moving. What do you gain by moving to the new server?

I think the new VIP content will be for those with VIP accounts, not based on what server they go to. If they wanted to do that, they'd simply "fence off" Virtue and Freedom as VIP servers already.
As I said on my SG's board a bit ago. I'm a Virtueite. Even if I've been sparse in game the last year or so, Virtue is my home. Heading off to the mystical VIP server, made up of exiles from Virtue, Freedom, Pinnicle, Liberty and so forth isn't going to "save" or "recreate" the Virtue Community. It'll create a new community, one likely to be more hostile to RP than the Virtue we've known (because of the non-RPers from other servers).
Why go to try to "recreate" Virtue when we already have it. Yes, there are going to be changes, but there always are! That doesn't even mention that I've been griefed I don't know how many times over the years. That's what the ignore function is for. In the end, Virtue will adapt. It will be different, to be sure, but it will be fine.

Ah, I read it wrong. It looks like the free accounts will only have access to the new First Ward. I guess the VIP server is just there for people who wish to have access to an exclusiv server. Sounds like a waste of resources.

The VIP server is like any normal server.
We aren't being forced to it.
The only perk is that Free & Premium accounts won't have access to it.
I may transfer some 50s that are collecting dust over to the VIP server, with our brand new free monthly VIP server transfers!

I suppose it isn't going to be much of a difference, however I still can't help but think they are seriously over-strategizing and over-complicating something that wasn't required or needed to begin with.
My only real concern is the fact that they are doing what all companys do, looking at more profitability rather then community, no matter how much they say otherwise. Quantity over Quality first.

Well Paragon.. do remember that during the stress test of Freedom, yes we managed to get 4000 in that period... BUT there was lag... major power lag during the battles in Atlas (where I was at the time). Had I been a F2P'er at that time I would not have been impressed and maybe tried another game instead.
Just saying.. mind.

This is a horrible idea unless you have an elitist snob mindset. I don't know how long you've been on Virtue/Freedom, but I have never played on any server *but* Virtue. I'd hate to think that the chance I may have to play with people I haven't seen in years would be crushed because *you* want to be an elitist on a server that many before/during your time, may have well called home.
How about you climb down off the horse and let the dev's and Paragon worry about handling the new influx of players, eh?

A number of former members of my SG, who have had to quit CoH for one reason or another, will now be able to come back with their Premium accounts. If this was a VIP-only server, they wouldn't be able to do this and play here on Virtue. You can HAVE your VIP server. I'm welcoming my old friends back!
