First, I'd like to say welcome back! Second, I want to take this time to ensure you we're not all elitist snobs. Feel free to drop me a line if you need help or have any general questions. My global is @Silver Tooth.
Onto some of your questions!
Paragonwiki.com is a great site for general CoH info. I also use badge-hunter.com for everything concerning badges.
Pocket D has indeed replaced the Dance Party. If you have access to Praetoria then you can also visit Studio 55. The Cape Radio is native to virtue, drop by the D any night and you can usually spot a DJ or three. The Pocket D is also home to the Ski Chalet that opens for the winter event each year, and is very awesome.
Occasionally you can find giant monster hunts. With the addition of the zone event message channel many more people have the badges they give, so demand to take monsters down has decreased slightly. In addition to Hami raiding (which has been revamped in your absence), we now have Rikti Mothership raiding and several random zone events.
Hope that helped a little. -

I'm guessing this is an attempt at a joke thread. Either that or somehow Dark/Elec fenders are the new flavor of the month, but I doubt it.
-
Red or Blue, eh? In the words of Tony Stark, is it too much to ask for both? Assuming you have Going Rogue, why not make your character a vigilante or rogue and go wherever there is RP?
-
I may transfer some 50s that are collecting dust over to the VIP server, with our brand new free monthly VIP server transfers!
-
We'll just have to use our Virtue Niceā¢ and convince all the free players that we're awesome and they too should be VIPs.
-
After reading through the info that has been released so far, it makes it sound like the free accounts will be glorified trial accounts. Plus, if you're that worried about CoH Freedom you can play on the VIP exclusive server.

This brute has been my main project since i18 and is really awesome so far. Though the min/maxer in me can't help but think he could be more awesome. Was slotting to get him closer to the softcap for S/L/E/N, then for extra HP, regen/recovery, and some recharge.
- Right now he's softcapped to S/L with one enemy in range of Invincibility. I'd like to get his Energy/Neg Energy def up a bit more since there is a lot of it tossed around in the new Incarnate content.
- Currently I have the Cardiac Core Paragon slotted for his Alpha. I was thinking of switching to one of the Nerves for more defense for the Incarnate content.
The build is posted below. Please tear it apart and tell me what you think.

My brute has been kicked several times for not "following the tank". I just jump into a group, soak up the aggro for fury, use Fault to stun/KD most things around me so they don't pose a threat to teamates, and the team steamrolls on.

Try disabling your Windows Firewall and any anti-virus/spyware programs you may have and then try to login again.
-
Is your Windows Firewall enabled?
Which version of the CoH updater are you using? I ask because your problem may be related to this thread. http://coh103.gtm.cityofheroes.com/s...d.php?t=211195 -
You do lose your set bonuses if you exemp below their level. However what you were seeing was the procs going off. Procs are not generally treated as set bonuses and will work at any level, provided the power you have them in is available to you at that level.
-
I guess I don't see the big deal about this. The WST isn't incarnate exclusive. I don't believe such a thing was ever stated about it. Incarnates can run them to get Notice of the Wells, everyone else gets the XP bonus and the first run reward merit bonus. It just so happens that the last three WST were TFs that went to level 50, so incarnates also picked up shards. Again, never was it stated that the WST would always drop shards. Granted in i20 that will change, but not yet.
In the meantime I guess I will have to cope with beating up ridiculous amounts of Freakshow in the Sister Psyche TF and raking in huge piles of influence and prestige. It'll be tough, but I'll try to manage. -
He slotted Fortification for resist because it's the resist toggle. Serum is the Dull Pain clone and he slotted it for heal and rech.
-
I'm using Musculature right now. More dmg, tohit/def debuff, and some end mod later.
Though your build could probably benefit from a Cardiac for the end reduc. -
It all boils down to preference and playstyle. I respecced out of Tactics a while ago and use a yellow or two for when -perception does become a problem.
-
Looks good at a glance.
I'd drop Tactics and replace it with Assault in order to unlock Vengeance. The extra tohit from Tactics isn't needed with the amount of def debuff you have. Plus you've got Aim as well. Solo you'll have a constant 73.75% damage buff with Assault, Vigilance and perma-AM. Add Aim when it's up for another 50% and you're sitting at roughly 123.75% damage buff. -
Just got my Stone/Invul to 50. Real sturdy brute. Probably one of the toughest I've played so far.
Generally Stone does well with a secondary that has some end recovery. Willpower, Electric Armor, etc. Though with proper slotting you can make it work with anything. -
I'd drop Acrobatics. You've already got 8pts of KB protection from the BotZ and Steadfast IOs. That's enough to handle the majority of KB in the game. Unless you've got Acro for the minor hold protection. Even then an occasional break-free will help more than a constant end drain for a mag 2 hold protect.
-
Most GM soloers I've heard of are defenders. Never heard of a brute doing it.
-
Well I may not be an empath, but if you ever want a Rad/Rad on Virtue for all-defender awesomeness, look me up.
