City of Heroes 2 Coming Soon
And it's going to be integrated with Facebook, and it's going to be on XBox and Playstation as well! <.<
I wish that I had stronger C++ skills. I did some C++ development officially a long time ago on a space planning application in AutoCAD, but my gosh, that was ages ago. Unfortunately, my skills would probably be more useful where the servers physically are, not in Mountain View, where Paragon Studios is located.
Nevertheless, both of these things have been speculated to death. What is "GR2," by the way?
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
I really want to believe that.
Lets hope your baseless claims come true!
When something good happens to me, I can never enjoy it....
I am always too busy looking for the inevitable punchline...
BEHOLD THE POWER OF CHEESE!
The potential project(s) behind NC Soft's job listings is, of course, purely speculative. And since Lineage just closed in North America, one could just as easily say that the next MMO will be Lineage 3.
For my part, I hope that Paragon tries something different than CoH2. Sequels to MMOs never work that well, particularly when the original continues to enjoy a healthy existence.
What makes you think this is City 2? I thought City of Sidekicks was next.
Edit: Even on Paragon Studios website there are listings but this can't be for Lineage 3 because they only show COV/COH/GR as their products.

I could have sworn the servers are in Mountain View. The job I linked to is for Mountain View.
As much as the idea of working for CoH appeals to me on a theoretical level, I don't think I want turn my happytime into worktime.

For example. The Other Superhero game I played went Free to play and so I subbed this game. during maintenance I went back to that game which I played for a year and all of my toons had been destroyed because I did not pay for the powers I chose when I made the character. Soooo as a result I don't bother with it anymore.
For example IO sets you worked hard for become only available on premium accounts etc. Which means you lose out even if you have played for 7 years.
I just get concerned when things go Free to Play, I have just been through that song and dance a lot, and well...it's never fun for the player.
Going Rogue 2 which is what they are supposedly working on now. unless GR2 is just code for CoH2.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

All my characters
Well... This is interesting indeed. I'll be graduating in December with a degree in Game Art and Design. And the spark that sent me down this path was the jobs posting a few years ago by NC. Looks like I need to get my portfolio in order and get an application sent in. Hopefully they're not too strict about the Minimum of 2 shipped titles required for the character artist position though.

Just curious, what's the pay like roughly? In the ustreams, I see young and old people. They seem to have balanced workforce.

Then again, this is puzzling:
Work is usually performed in an office setting and could involve sitting, standing, walking for long periods of time throughout the day. |
Second of all, "usually?" As opposed to driving to a Dave and Busters and discussing animation rigging over skeeball?
Also, this:
This position requires considerable concentration and creativity. It is subject to stress caused by a changing environment, internal and external customer needs, diversity in the organization, tight deadlines and workload. |
It also probably still beats applying for the forum moderator position.

In one little corner of the universe, there's nothing more irritating than a misfile...
(Please support the best webcomic about a cosmic universal realignment by impaired angelic interference resulting in identity crisis angst. Or I release the pigmy water thieves.)
I was never a fan of C++ personally, although I've done my time. If I was considering a career change, I would probably be most interested in the Senior Gameplay Engineer position, although my weak spot on those reqs would probably be OpenGL: the last time I seriously looked at OpenGL code it might have been on an actual IRIS.
Then again, this is puzzling: First of all, don't all office jobs involve long periods of sitting, standing, or walking? Are there alternatives at Paragon Studios I need to be made aware of? Does the art department do most of their work while tumbling? Second of all, "usually?" As opposed to driving to a Dave and Busters and discussing animation rigging over skeeball? Also, this: Translation: your coworkers suck, our customers suck, the job sucks, there's too much of it, not enough time to do it, and we'll keep changing it until you go insane. Sounds like my kind of gig. It also probably still beats applying for the forum moderator position. |

You heard it here first... City of Heroes 2 to launch next year, and CoH goes free-to-play with GR2.
