Can we get Dark Armor's Cloak of Fear effects turned into an aura set (with a ghostly skull that hovers (like the H.U.D.) in front of (or emanates from) the character's face?


We have Bats aura; how about its antithesis... Doves?

More styles for the Victorian type aura: Kanji, Binary, translucent gradient armor-styled auras?

Animal spirit face auras (again; forward of the face like the H.U.D. aura)?

Combining the idea of the Halo piece and eye wraps; creating a 'full head/face halo'... a wraparound sheet of energy/holography that rotates (variant option) details around the player's head (at the eye's horizon line)?

Holography options for shields (faces, animals, etc)?

Holographic armor? Weapons? Details?

Would it be possible to brainstorm with the costume guys to add an option into the creator to allow players to choose what kind of texture/sheen to add to pieces?

Imagine a Rainbow Path Aura that only causes FX when Jumping ... producing nice parabolic arcs (like they should be) but which doesn't produce FX with other movement modes. Imagine an Autumn Path Aura that only causes FX when standing/running on the "ground" ... and so on.
I suggested this before, and I still agree with it. My direct request is for the Seismic aura to be able to produce cracks in the ground only when landing from a jump. Not when running, not when standing in place. Only when landing from a jump.

Bonus points if it happens only after a jump higher than an inch, but that's not as important

Flight and/or Jumping only for ALL auras, yes please. So very much. Even IF power customization for Travel powers becomes a thing, This should be done.

This is an amazing idea, and I love it. For that matter, the alternative -- ground-only -- might be useful sometimes too.

So long as you're noting bugs and speaking of Forcefields bubbles, could I please submit a few more that should be right up your alley?

Forcefields custom-coloured bubbles are misaligned. The original bubbles track body movement and move with the character in animations. Custom bubbles only track character absolute position and don't move with the character in animations, meaning the character often jumps, steps and ducks outside the bubble. This is true for all bubbles, not just Forcefields. It's also true for the Traps Forcefield Generator.

I have pics, too. This is a pic of the proper, original bubble with a sitting Mastermind. Note how the bubble has sunk half-way into the ground and the whole character is covered. By contrast, this is a custom yellow Forcefield Generator. Note how the bubble is still hovering in the air where the character's chest would be normally, and how the Mastermind is largely outside the bubble.

This is the case for all Forcefields bubbles: Deflection Shield, Insulation Shield, Personal Forcefield, Dispersion Bubble and I believe others. This is also the case for the Traps Forcefield Generator, which is essentially using a copy of Dispersion Bubble's graphics. This is actually true for one of the Kheldian shields, as well, the one that has a rotating ring of energy. I've been reporting this for so long and never, ever gotten a response... Please, do something about it, or at least say something about it

Additionally, the Traps Poison Gas Trap is bugged when given custom colours. Again, I have pics: Evidence. What you're seeing is a Poison Gas Trap from Traps using a custom colour Red/Blue. The only thing that actually colours on the custom trap, however, is the bottle and the initial spray, which you can see displaying in a sort of purple in the pic. The actual poison gas cloud is always a sort of blueish white that looks like steam. The poison gas cloud DOES NOT take custom colours, and it really should.

Oh, and before I go - the Original colours for hero Electric Melee -> Chain Induction are bugged. The initial hit from Chain Induction is blue like all the others, but all the secondary jumps use the villain Electric Melee red. I suspect the pseudo-pet the power summons is an exact copy of the villain version using the exact same colours. In a reverse of the above problem, the custom version of Chain Induction is consistent between original attack and jump arcs.

I've got something, inspired by a discussion on one of the server boards.

Would it be possible to possibly work in a solid, metallic version of the Stone Melee/Armor powers? It might help concepts that focus on manipulating metals and the like, and though you can sort of get gold and silver colors with the current effects and the earthen palette, it looks... rocky.

See the overlay on her empty hand? This is the type of thing I'm referring to when I mention holographic armor overlay(s) as an aura option.

I would be good with this as a non-aural costume option as well.

I'm sure this has already been suggested, but could we get a version of the Dominators inherit power Domination without the rainbow FX?
It would be nice to be able to dominate foes without glittering like a fairy

Funny how I come see this after referencing my DOM in another post.

I wouldn't mind this... maybe change the effect depending on the type of primary you have?

A burst of flame for fire, snow blowing outwards of the character for ice, a [Psychic Shockwave] kind of effect for mental... etc.

Hey Tunnel Rat!
Loving the newest VFX seen in Dark Astoria. Really impressive!
Got a few suggestions for you:

Red rivers in Dark Astoria map missions: I think would be better if those were like water with reflections, but in red. Pretty much like the sewers green dirty water.
The current red water looks weird, or I got used to ultra mode water too much!

Penelope Yin pet: I think the glowing ball should be pink, like the rest of her powers. Yellow ballroom doesnt make much sense for the psi powers, it looks like energy or light ballroom instead of a psi pet.

Earth Judgment power: The new earth massive attacks for Incarnate levels Talons of Vengueance Sibyls are awesome. Would be great to have that as a new tree, now that the FX is done.

Alternate VFX for dark powers: I know give dark powers a completely new FX to match dark control would be a lot of work, but what about giving them the alternate look of Soul powers (Ghost widow), so we can have all those power in a Soul flavour. I think the old dark powers, with those tentacles and FX looks just too old.

Please tell us you are working on customization for Power pools and ancillary and patron and epic power pools.
Peacebreangers got some minor customization added with the wispy option for light form.
I need to know we will got more customization soon, its been too long since I16.

Angelxman- Thanks! The entire art team put a lot of effort in DA! I sent the environment artists your feedback about the water, since we didn’t have any to do with that. Your idea for some earth-based Judgement power is cool, and I had a lot of fun making those Talon powers! Please pitch it to our powers designer, Synapse!


Redlynne- TSK TSK… comments like that keep us from making things like waterfall loin-cloths! :P

You're the one responsible for "Chunky Updraft" and similar earth-based powers used by the Talons? I don't suppose you could tone down the motion and the shaking a bit? I ran Sister Solaris's arc last night, and there were a number of fights where I had to leave the computer and go lie down. The final mission took over two hours, less than half of which was spent actually playing.

Just to point this out, you know there is an options setting that can fix the 'shakycam' effect...

Yaknow. Just looking at the "Options" in the menu, that seems to have been misplaced. There used to be an option to turn off camera shake, but with the new tabs added to the window, I've either missed it or it's been removed accidentially. That could be a serious issue. In any event, there used to be (and still may be) a way to turn off the camera shake. I hope there still is. I have a friend that plays on occasion that has some serious motion sickness issues.

Wait... just found it. It's in Menu>Controls>Mouse>Camera Shake (enabled or disabled)

As critical as something like that is, it needs to be moved to a more prominent spot, in my opinion. Me? I like the camera shake, but my friend can't play with it on. That's... kinda important.

That stops the shake, but not the up-and-down motion from the high-magnitude knockup, and does nothing about the full-screen fast-moving graphics.

I would really like to see an update to the old Dark Powers, the FX looks really dated alongside the new Controller Power. Not quite as distinct as the difference between Fire and the Incarnate stuff but close.

To my eyes they are less dark and more Smokey.

Even if you called them the Netherworld Sets I think they could use a bit of sprucing.

If going to do all of them is out of the question could we at least get a new look for Petrifying Gaze? two smokey blobs, that arc left/right from your line of sight and hit a target? never made sense as some sort of "Gaze" to me, unless my character all have lazy eyes. I would love to see something that actually Pertify's my opponent giving them a rocky/statue like appearance, maybe with a pulse of darkness glowing out from my characters eyes but not travelling across to the target would be great.

true, but then again the dark buff sets were called "dark MAISMA" which does imply a smoky vaporous effect XD.

im more interested in some animation customization for the newer sets. i dont know why we didnt get any. example: fire/ice breath can come from hands, why cant cone of fear gaze?

is that fx? or are animations separate?

i can has Wind Blast nao? or who do i need to PM about a powerset? was it synapse?

I would love to see dark auras... you know... like the black ichor oozing from a dark crupper's feet or seeping from joints and tumbling to the floor

there's a problem with the dark stuff in terms or costume parts and effects; if there's any transparency then dark makes it close to invisible. Black makes most effects near transparent.

What we need is a transparency slider for effects that are important - so that we can set their level as desired.

We really don't have any "liquid" effects that are not part of the environment.
