Hey Tunnel Rat!
Just some fast feedback.
Penny Yin new powers are awesome, love the VFX.
But her yellow pet clashes too much with her pink psionic powers and her red/white/black costume... It clashes so badly it doesnt make sense.
I think it should be pink like the rest of her powers.
Would you think about updating this?
Also, any word about pool/epics customization beign worked?
It may sound silly asking about it but I starting to loose any hope we could have new and cooler custom effects for hasten, superspeed, self heal... among other powers.
Even a no-FX option would be good enough...
I just want to link this whole thread for you guys to share amongst yourselves.

Your idea for some earth-based Judgement power is cool, and I had a lot of fun making those Talon powers! Please pitch it to our powers designer, Synapse!

The reason I ask for it, and if I may indulge a little, is because characters defined by raw strength has no real, applicable option to pursue when it comes to Judgement powers. They have to make do with something elemental or otherwise something speed-based. Well, take a look at my Xanta for instance. She's big and defined by being strong, and a massive, explosive ground punch really would make sense for her.

Were I a betting man, I'd bet that the yellow pet is yellow as a very deliberate choice that referred back to who she learned it from.

Maybe its one of those aesthetic thing nobodys notices but I find annoying...
Power change emote, a vase. For my genie to come smoking out of.
Emote, like vanity smurf wear we avatar pulls out a small mirror to looks at himself. Knowing he is the hotness. For ladies there was one on the sims online where the girl pulled out a small compact and applie makeup to face. Who wouldn't want to look fresh before battle.
Something needs to changed on pool,ancillary,and patron powers. People really want to customize them. Make the feel there part of our players. Oh and please stop making have to take them in order. I want certain powers when I want them. More freedom to the players!
Finally my last thought of COH. SUMMER EVENT. Water slide, beach ball in the sand . Some new mission like sun scorch or amusement park map with haunted house.
I don't know how much of this is FX (probably not much) but could you make a larger variety of colours and more accurate colours available for Plant Control and the Earth/Stone customisations? It's really difficult to find a suitable colour for Plant because it seems like they are pretinted somewhat. For Earth/Stone, particularly the Crystal options, would it be possible to get the full colour palette?

Speaking of an Earth Judgement power: If anything like this is ever made, could you please make sure it could look passable as a basic strength physical attack, as well? I mean, shoot for something like a giant foot stop or ground punch or anything else that looks like it can be initiated by just raw Hulk-like strength and not necessarily something which relies on elemental control specifically, like breathing sand or turning people to stone or some such.

Someone else wants an Earth Judgement power? yeeesssssssssssssss. I hope it gets made. I've been wishing for once since I hit Incarnate with my stone dom Seismecca. Maybe something like foot stomp, but instead of a pbaoe, have it be a cone where the smashed ground juts out in front of you in an arc?
Also, separate thing (what I came into this thread in the first place for)
separate eye auras, for characters with eye patches, or hair that covers one eye.

Just caught a little break so I thought Id check in! Im crazy busy these days finishing up all the powers we announced at the summit, so Im sorry I havent been able to respond very quickly here.
Lots of great ideas, so lets get right to it:
daveyJ3- Yes, Synapse is the genius number-cruncher to send your powers requests to. Wind Blast was one of the many suggestions we got at the player summit, and like we said, we kept all suggestions! So rest assured we know all about that one!
ScarletShocker- Thats a great idea, I will definitely explore your suggestion for dark auras. The clunker aura, with the trail only option might work for you though! I made that one specifically to look like leaking oil, so you can tint it black! It wont be as dark as a dark aura version may one day be, but maybe it could hold you over until I make one?Thanks guys! Weve built up quite a collection of ideas for auras and CCemotes now, but I could always use more! I want to hoard them until there's enough to dive in all Scrooge McDuck style! Keep em comin'!
Angelxman- There should be an incoming improvement for Penny Yins pet. And dont lose hope, PP customization is on backorder, not shelved!
Zyphoid- I approve that message, it has a lot of potential! It unfortunately carries the stigma of requiring UI work (much like PP customization). I can guarantee you were looking into it though!

Unfortunately however, I often come late in the process to setting up powers, so by the time I get it, it already has all the (character) animations and behavior set in place. This is not to say that I cant push a little when I feel it necessary to change it, but I cant do that often. I would say Design (synapse) is the best place to send your suggestion for that, as they are the ones that usually drive the powers through and gives the animator a direction.
Morgan- All great ideas for CC and regular Emotes! Definitely noted!
SnowZone- Changing the color pallete would affect everyone's color selections, and from what I hear, people don't like that very much. Lets just cross our fingers that I may get some scheduled time for alternate FX on these older powersets some day. And keep your eyes out for Nature Affinity :P
Vyver- I heard somewhere that hair over one eye is becoming a leading cause of eye stigmatisms, you really want your hero to be flawed? *wink* In all seriousness though, hair options would be a great request for Dink in the "All Things Character Art" thread.
Can we get more "Breath Auras"? Like Fire aura get puff of fire randomly, etc.

An Ethereal Aura that makes me intangible like a ghost rather than ghosts flying around me.
Something that makes a character appear ghostly, see through, with maybe some fog included. Right now this is sort of doable using a Stealth proc in Sprint and an aura, but I'd like to see it color tintable for various effects/reasons and not having an additional toggle on that 1) uses end and 2) drops when faceplanted, etc. I don't necessarily want the stealth benefit, I just want to look like a ghost/hidden celestial being/whatever.

How about setting up a template for power fx in prep for allowing alternate animations that originate from the eyes and mouth (or proliferating already established animations and f/x like):
Fire Breath, Fire Breath and/or any Sonic Attack power for mouth region attacks
Fearsome Stare, Petrifying Gaze, X-Ray Beam, Abyssal Gaze, Psionic Dart, Mental Blast, Psionic Lance, Scramble Thoughts, Psychic Scream and/or any Sonic attack power for eye region attacks

I'm probably late to the party with this:
The Sirens of the Talons of Vengeance have a music/notes FX for their sonic powers. I would LOVE to have that available for my Sonic/Sonic Defender "The Musician"; Those FX would make a lovely alternate animation for Sonic Blasts, and possibly Sonic Resonance.
The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

Well, I just checked and, disappointingly, a custom Mastermind -> Traps -> Poison Trap still doesn't take custom colours for its poison gas cloud and a custom Mastermind -> Traps -> Forcefield Generator still casts a forcefield that characters step out of.

i was hoping you might get around to proliferating the animations/fx from the poison powers to the other poison powers: some come from the hand some from the mouth, some from the other side of the hand. having hand and mouth options for all would be nice.
also, would it be possible to have an alternate animation for the targeted AOEs in poison, envenom and weaken, to look similar to the spore burst in the plant control set? it's similar enough and would make sense and really breathe new life into the set. or even something like the Hydra Heads in the sewer trial's powers. the animations / fx are lackluster and old, and new options are always appreciated.
also, cant wait for you to make fx for Wind Blast! ;D i wouldnt mind having the Dire Wolf's arctic attacks as wind blast animations, and Mot's big AoE tornado-like attack... but dont forget to put dust devils / snow devils in there!!

The cracks on the floor, which are generated by a few powers (Footstomp, Spring Attack and a few more) - Is it possible to color them ?
Because I'm sure they would look great with a few powersets. As it would look like lava comes out between the cracks with Fiery Aura. Or using blue/green/white colors for the cracks to match the Electric/Energy Aura.
I have another animation bug to add to the pile: Shadow Maul with a flying female character and custom colours. Let me start with a picture and see if that speaks for itself.
As you'll note, the "fake arms" that do the extra punching effects for Shadow Maul don't match up to the character's actual shoulder level, and instead appear to come out of the sides of her abdomen, Goro style. This is caused by our old problem - effects locked to the character's absolute position in the world and NOT to the character model's displacement within its own hit box. It's the same thing that's causing custom forcefields to appear displaced, as I reported last time and is still happening now.
I'd really, REALLY please like to have this fixed or the arms realigned absolutely up until they at least somewhat meet the character's shoulders. It's really quite obvious with custom effects because the arms are largely transparent, but they still display over and obscure the "shadow smoke" behind them, so they show up as large empty spaces against the Dark Armour auras. Please, please, please address it, or at the very least acknowledge that it's happening so I know I'm not flailing in the wind... No pun intended.

Thanks for reading that thread HB. I wanted to note that the new sets on beta (Water, Nature, and Bio) all look so amazing that it really highlights how long in the tooth the old animations and FX are. That is not a complaint, it is just a fact that you guys are better than those who came before. I am not sure if it is skill, or new tech, but the new stuff is flat out better.
I really hope the FX team and the Animation team really consider adding some newness to old sets a little at a time.
There are some offenders that are worse than others. Ice Armor comes to mind first and foremost. It really just looks bad when compared to even earth. Well, now it has to be compared to Bio Armor which looks flat out phenomenal.
Now I have a request.
I love the FX of Bio Armor, what I would like to see is an energy armor that works like that, but is transparent (may not be the correct word) and glows. Much like GL armor is in some comics.

Not to say we shouldn't have more dark-colored aura options. A transparency slider is probably too much to ask, but making dark versions of all our currently-available bright auras (and vice versa - bright Tendrils, please; the Khelidans will love you!), while perhaps tedious, would solve the issue fairly simply.
EDIT - Speaking of bright and dark, since the Empathy and Pain Domination visuals are practically identical but for their brightness/darkness, can we please have them ported as options for each other? Even if the idea of heroic and villainous ATs hadn't been done away with when Freedom and the new tutorial came along (thus allowing your Empathy controller to be evil from the get-go), locking a good character into bright-colored powers and an evil character into dark-colored powers would still be ludicrous. Invuln could use the same treatment, too, because the Bright options available to Brutes can't be customized to look the same as the Original version for Tankers, most noticeable with Unstoppable in which Tankers' Original version has beams of light in several colors as opposed to Brutes' Bright option having two colors max, and Invincibility in which the Brute's original version glows bright purple before going dark which the Dark option available to tankers doesn't do. I propose adding "Legacy Bright" options for Brutes and "Legacy Dark" options for Tankers and Scrappers, that can't be customized but are exact copies of the Original versions from the other side.
