One I forgot to mention earlier:

Every list in the UI should be sorted alphabetically, be it powers, enhancements, BADGES, inspirations, whatever. Badges are a particular pet peeve. When I'm looking for a badge to determine whether or not I've earned it, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

And another: Every number should include comma separators (or whatever separator is appropriate to your culture) so that 987654321 is properly formatted as 987,654,321. I'm tired of my eyes bleeding when I try to figure out how much XP remains to the next level or inf I have in the monitor window.

1. Fix all the broken things now before any more updates are added. Things like updating Keldians (photon seekers, form animation time, etc. etc etc); reworking of TFs/SFs that seem require specific team composition or strategy in order to finish in a reasonable time; fix the general inconsistency of writing (as well we game/item/enhancement descriptions) .

2. Put all unlockable costume pieces in the character creator for all players.

3. Better teaming window and functionality

and one more...

4. more intuitive base building tools and by extension, a beefed up SG admin page.

Oh and one more thing I would change:

The #@!?* respec system. I'd make it more like Mids, where you can choose "dynamic mode" (to move a slot or two or replace a single power) or "level up mode" (if you're making major changes and don't want to screw up). And it wouldn't touch your power trays except to remove powers you no longer have.

1) Base Builder Overhaul: Fix the bases and base building and editor tool. We need to make the bases important and useful again! More functionality (unique 'Danger Room'/AE/Arena type interfaces), SG-specific AE capabilities through the mission computer, huge amounts of new items to add to the bases! At the VERY least for aesthetics, add Praetorian style walls, floors, equipment, etc. A new Z-Axis stacking tool is in dire need of implementation as well.

2) Ultra Mode old zones/New Villain Zone: You have opened Pandora's Box, devs! Now that we see the new shiny that is Praetoria zones, we must haz nowz all older zones upgraded! Also, give us a new zone to explore villain side; one that gives new enemies, new maps, new 'viallainous' challengers (NO Co-Op!). LONG overdue and ties directly with the gap existing in the Strike Force flow as well.

3) Costume Creator/Costumes: Straighten out the costume creator as per what Noble Savage has hinted at; complete update for selection screens and categories, Allowance of things like glasses and horns to be utilized at the same time, etc. Along this vein, more costumes NOT related to Booster Packs or Praetoria (see Jay's Costume request thread with thousands of unasnswered requests...).

1/shadowshard TFs co-op and the missions to be in the same zones

2/safeguard/mayhem missions in ouro

3/ nuke nerva from orbit..then burn it with fire

The more i think of that zone the more i rember why i dodge it
that whole forest area is annoying without fly

Respec door the actual tree is nice to look at but its at the back of nerva
and gets real annoying when the tf sends you mutiple times back there
and then theres
Caleb flying monster ive only ever killed it once and never see people on global
channels wanting to kill it

I'd change the respec interface so that it would accept a Mid's character block cut and pasted in.

My own short list, in order of execution (in reverse order of difficulty and time commitment):

  1. Revamp all level 1-10 missions and tutorials in CoH and CoV to quality level of Going Rogue's, e.g. use fixed-door missions, glowies, exta dialogue options for immersion, etc. and update lore references to take the last several years into account. When the devs at Blizzard decided to roll out a similarly ambitious expansion for the end game, they also redid the early content, knowing that would not only draw new players, but also retain veteran ones. (Also, if my newbie villains have to run the Snakes mission one more time, I'll go spare. As it is, my new chars often head straight to the local AE for some variety in their low levels.)
  2. Revise current zone events in CoH and CoV to use the new programming and introduce additional ones since they're supposedly now easier to implement. Introduce more trigger events that include solo play, e.g. completing Harvey Maylor's arc causes a Carnival "street parade" or defeating 100 Skulls/Hellions in Atlas Park touches off a gang war. The "City of Instances" needs to be shaken up every so often, and it's nice to have the game's community out in the open and out in force on occasion.
  3. Rethink unlockable costume pieces. The cape missions for CoH/CoV have been superseded several times over by booster packs, for example, and nobody likes having to grind Nemesis army as a sidekick in order to gain access to their rifle for a steampunk-themed character.
None of these require changes to the existing game engine or dev tools, but they do need some time invested in them and some supervision to make sure they don't fall by the wayside.

1) The fortune teller buff gets the option to never prompt (deny), never prompt (allow), and prompt each time. I ******* hate this thing but don't want it removed because there are some people that like it.

2) The new warehouse 'room of lag' gets removed and replaced with a normal warehouse room with graffiti on the walls that says "We're Sorry".

3) Forthcoming.

1 - I'd get rid of travel suppression
2 - I'd remove the aggro cap
3 - I'd increase AoE target limits by a bit

bonus - totally revamp the pvp system again

I have way more than 3 but here's my top 3:

1. Graphics. Fix mitten hands and give us true modern graphics support. Eyefinity (no camdist limit) and Crossfire support. Fix bugs with AMD/ATi crashes. Fix Mac client crashes. This is 2011 and this game isn't a startup anymore.

2. Integration of all the various fiefdoms in this game that result in withering silos because they don't matter or people don't care. By integration I mean the ability to have arcs and leveling paths that cross into AE, SG bases, PvP, Arena/Gladiators etc. Most of the stuff has always been peddled as optional and gets thrown off to the side by the devs and players and left to rot in favour of the new shiny. Adding small improvements and fixes to all aspects of the game is better than pointing off to the side and yelling "HEY LOOK AT THE NEW ZONE!"

3. Leveling past 50. Don't understand what the difference is between faux 50s and true leveling past 50, other than the stated position years ago that 50 was the end. Level shifts mean an artificial barrier now exists so people are gated from doing incarnate content alongside non-incarnate teammates.

That was my suggestion, but to have them organized into subcategories for each villain group or for villain groups typically exclusive to a certain zone (e.g. Croatoa, Cimerora).

Such a system already exists in the merit vendors, recipe inventory (and by extension, the crafting system), AE ticket vendors, Incarnate Abilities, and Combat Attributes. It's used most extensively in the market interface, and it shows up in the ingame help menu. I'm hoping somebody at Paragon Studios is already working on extending this system to badges, vendors, and clues. My scroll wheels are wearing out way too fast.

Hopefully we'll see the Costume Creator rebuilt using a system like this. Nothing is really organized, and the sheer number of costume pieces are making half the menus a PITA to scroll through.

1) Remove lead out missions and hunts
2) Put "No Ambushes" option in the difficulty settings
3) Allow all TFs/SFs to be able to be started in Oro with one person

1) My main is a stalker and leadouts are just idiotic for that AT, hunts are really dull especially when LGTF is WTF and/or zone events
2) I hate them. I solo. With low level squishies. I don't need a set of five ambushes
3) Let the stealthers do it solo and I can team with people who want to team and get xp

All right, you asked for it:

1) Add the ability to customize powers other than primaries and secondaries, as well as adding the ability to customize powers that involve summoning/replacement of models (MM primaries, Traps gadgets, Kheldian forms, Granite Armor, etc.).

2) Shut down the forums. I'm tired of the constant complaints about anything and everything.

3) And, just to add a complaint of my own, if I could make it so all the time spent creating a raid-based endgame could have been directed toward anything else, I would. I don't like the sudden change of development direction, and I don't think it'll have the anticipated effect of growing or retaining some mythical cohort of potential players who've been staying away just because they couldn't previously participate in a mega-raid.

1) Rewrite the majority of the blueside arcs. Seriously, most of them suck from a game design perspective, and there are only a handful I enjoy playing through. I like Faultline, Hollows is now much better since the zone revamp, some of the newer arcs provide a more streamlined experience, but most of it is kind of random in terms of where mission doors are and the actual mission design.

2) Add Co-Op content where you force heroes to do some morally difficult things for the greater good, and where villain morality is preferable because sometimes to win, you have to do some pretty dirty things. Add a new TF to RWZ and Cim where it's co-op content, but you're put in the position to do some pretty awful things for the greater good, if you so desire. Vanguard kind of seems like the kind of group that would do some pretty dirty things for the greater good. And in Cim it would be really interesting to have a TF that imperious needs your help after the ITF is done to hunt down the last pockets of resistance. Heck, it could even be a story arc instead of a TF>

3) Add 20 - 50 content in Preatoria.

All of these things are pretty Herculean tasks, so I don't really expect any of them any time soon (or in some cases ever). But i would be genuinely happy if they added them.

You know, I didn't really ask for end-game content either - although I like that it was added. What I don't understand is begrudging those people that did want some form of it their content. It's an MMO, I like that their catering to others it means I get to meet a wider variety of gamer.

These kinds of complaints just seem kind of bizarre to me.

I would completely obliterate and gut the Rogue Isles. Arachnos would practically vanish.

Villainside would be expanded to explore more than just some tiny islands a couple hours away from the nearest bastion of people itching to put them back in prison. They would be able to commit their crime sprees, mad science, dark rituals, socio-political maneuvering and whatever else have you throughout the global environment, rather than being yoked down to the whims of Arachnos and their all-powerful tyrant.

Arachnos would still exist, though... Lurking in the shadows... Waiting for the time to strike and claim their proper place as a legitimate threat to the world. It's just that the in-fighting and faction strife has reached the point where it's causing plots and plans to fail, so some "pruning" needs to be done...

Then serioused-up. These are actually pretty good suggestions (although I think we're doomed to be stuck on a small chain of islands, just as those do-gooders in Paragon City are doomed to be stuck in one city).

Bravo, this has to be the greatest power-fantasy overcompensation for the "Devs hate villains" trope on this thread. Mind you, this could only work in a completely different game, presumably one without heroes, and rather misses the point about Recluse's philosophy in ruling the Rogue Isles.

Interesting… Anyone else notice how many requests there are for revamps and updates of old content? Devs please take note.

As for three things I’d change, I’ll do my best to be constructive.

1) Completely disconnect the Incarnate System from the Praetorian storyline so that people can choose their own way to become an Incarnate. This includes hitting the Lore slot with a big hammer (many times) until it becomes something that fits better with character concepts.

2) Dedicate a team to revisit some of the zones and storylines that players have been wishing to see developed for a long time. Some zones have been in need of a remake for years and there are many storylines left hanging that could do with a decent ending to them. If they could be satisfactorily tied up such as in the same way that we take down Frostfire or Dr Vahzilok, that would be awesome. If we could refrain from simply retconning them all so that ‘the Well did it’, that would be much appreciated. Not all plots lead to that horrible little Puddle of Godmodding.

3) New Invention sets. Have we had any new ones since BotZ? Fixing up toons with inventions is almost a mini-game in itself and helps to bend ATs and characters to be what we want them to be. The fact that we have only three Targetted AoE sets (outside of PvP and Purples) when we’ve got goodness knows how many for snipes seems bizarre to me.

I have more but most of them have already been posted by people who have asked for them far more eloquently than I could. Thank you.

Pressing the Ctrl and Tab keys simultaneously targets the next nearest opponent (if I recall correctly). But, with my right hand controlling the mouse and my left hand on the keyboard controlling movement via Q, W, E and other keys, it's not easy for me to press Ctrl-Tab during combat, not without looking away from the screen to the keyboard. I imagine there is a way I could reprogram the Tab key to target the next nearest target; but, I really don't want to have to do so. I'd much prefer the standard Tab function targets the next nearest opponent.
You can change that yourself, and it doesn't even require a bind/macro command.

Go to Options: Key Bindings

Then about half-way down the list or so you'll find "Targeting", it'll have Tab as Target Next Enemy. Just above it (I think) will be Target Nearest Enemy. Just click and press Tab. I prefer to have Tab as Target Nearest Enemy and Tilde ( the ~ one that's before 1 on the keyboard) as Target Next.

1) improve some of the sloppier faces. Add more if there's time.

2) Add fire defense type to pure toxic attacks so they don't just blow by all typed defense. Add large regen debuff resist to all regen powers; as is, a +3 enemy hits you with a regen debuff and you lose 1300% regen. Out of probably about 500. Allow taunt slotting in ancillary tank pools. Reduce mag 100 stuns to mag 10.

3) Fix ouro portal interrupting long teleports. Add more base porters, to firebase zulu, maybe other shadow shard zones, sewers, etc. Fix click targeting so that you can actually target what you click on; currently, it often fails to target anything when you click and you have to move the camera around and keep trying. Add more build slots; If you only play a couple of characters, 3 isn't enough. Revamp LFG and search windows and adding a server-wide LFG channel.

4) Do not mess with PvP mechanics. They're fairly bad, but pre-i13 they were worse - it was almost impossible to be in a situation where hit chance wasn't capped one way or the other and extremely few builds had the potential to be viable. Improving the mechanics is a ton of work that is highly unlikely to please the majority of players regardless of what they change it to. PvP could be improved by adding more involved zone goals and such though.

1. Add Lifetime Subscriptions. $299 and never pay again unless you buy an add-on pack.

2. Use that money to upgrade to an engine that supports faster, easier art-creation tools.

3. Use the faster, easier art-creation tools to make instances a holy heck of a lot less repetitive, and to once a year or so update the exterior zones to reflect current storylines.
