That pretty much sums up my whole reaction to the letter. Easier group formation, the equivalent of a raid UI to smooth out coordination. As usual, CoH reveals itself to be on the forefront of good ideas - Warhammer pioneered it, Rift is doing it well at the moment, Guild Wars 2 is hopefully on the bandwagon, CoH has the core combat structure to succeed where holy trinity reliant games tend to meltdown because a few people failing = wipe for all the group.

I suspect the wisdom of crowds will surprise those who think that soloists cannot coordinate. The more people you throw in, the more likely that you'll get a critical mass of folks who can stabilize and organize the whole group. Just please don't make it too unforgiving. Not the first round of Incarnate trials. Save those for the toppest of top tier please.

Hmm, 48 player teams..if they fix the targeting for obscenely huge NPC's they could add him as the final raid.

My point is that after playing that mish about 100+ times on the other side, I can't think of how it can be made epic.

Anyway my thoughts, both ouroboros:

1) Rikti original invasion. Including the whole laser beam from sky and obliterating places of interest moment. (They should have done something similar with the Praetorian invasion..)
2) Nemesis original invasion. 48 people glowie-fest! (delivering the cure)

Anyway, they seem to be going for the next best option: B.A.F. riot! Also, apparently no temp or earned powers allowed, no more warburg nuke shivan combo. (also, maybe no ninja run, so people better start getting actual movement abilities..)

I was really happy to see that part too. No matter what toon I'm on, I lovelovelove it when an invasion event starts around them and I'll drop anything I'm doing to go participate, no matter if they've already gotten the good stuff from it (badges, etc.). There's something about that mass chaos of 20 players going nuts in a group that's a heck of a lot of fun for me.

You know what's epic? The "Save The World" mission at the end of Dark Watcher's arc. That final room full of Rikti, and just you, a couple silly young kids from Faultline, and a renegade Rikti to stop them. And just when you think you've won, BAM, Nemesis shows up. The real one. And there's only you (and maybe Jimmy; Fusionette and the Rikti are almost always down by now) between him and victory.

That is epic.

That's exactly what the patch note means.

Powers that affect or affected by *teammates* will still only care about the other 7 members of your *team,* and ignore the rest of the League.

Powers that affect *allies* will affect the whole league (if they meet any other such requirements such as being in range or line of sight).

Also many powers have a limit to how many that can affect. Warburg Missile buffs affect not more than two teams worth of folks (I forget the exact number).

And you can be sure that if we find any power that stacks 48 high and gives us an automatic "I Win" will be immediately 'fixed.'

This is going to be, and yeah it's a bit overused but it totally fits here, EPIC.
