As it says "up to 6 teams", and anyone on the Trail is in the League, then that means that even if you're solo, you won't miss out - you could even have 48 soloers in the League

Can still earn shards while exempd. Interesting. I'm going to assume that wouldn't mean much in the context he mentioned it if those shards couldn't be turned into notices somehow.

This, as The Other Game is moving away from 40+ player raids.

Heck, when I read the post and saw "don't need a big group" in the same breath as "only require 8 players" and "12 players"... "only", he says. There seems to be a fundamental disconnect here, or at least a strong difference of opinion as to what constitutes "big group[s]". Maybe compared to a mothership or Hami raid.

(It's not a problem for me, as I play on Virtue and have lots of friends to play with. But I feel for others who don't have the option or inclination.)

Did you miss the part about the new LFG functionality for these? Click a button, carry on with what you were doing, as soon as enough people have queued, bamf, trial starts. No need to speak to anyone, much less know them.

I imagine the trials will be kept to the smaller numbers to be honest...and that they'll just add the ability to queue up for hamidon raids and other "big threat" type content additions to it.

Long as they keep it so everything is capable of being done with a completely random group of players it shouldn't be so bad.

It almost seems like this new League system is going to become a new form of Supergroup, at least as far as the social interactions and team coordination aspects go. This may be a step towards divorcing the whole "player groupings" concept from the existing Supergroup base/PvP dead-weight that's never really seriously been supported ever since the expectations for SG PvP failed to materialize.

I suppose we'll see how it works out.

I have a feeling if you literally had 48 solors in the League your League would fail the Trials miserably. As they should.

And I mean soloers as people doing their own thing and not listening to the raid leader . . . as sometimes happens on HAMIDON Raids which fail.

As many pugs full of fail have shown you can still have 8 people appearing in the team window and doing their own thing, that they might as well be 8 soloers.

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal.

In fact, you've just pointed out that teaming doesn't make it any better.
A bad player is a bad player, wether they solo or team.

Interesting news. I only have two problems with this:
#1 The constant mapserver disconnects when the server is "yellow"
#2 The horrid lag when 20 or more 50s get together with all their effects/capes etc


Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

Unless they continue to not give MM's credit for what their pets do which always struck me as odd in the Praetorian events.

Not knowing the mechanics I'm not sure how much of a win this is. How will the rewards differ for a player that spends a majority of their time buffing a 48 man team as opposed to a player with 3-5 AoEs? Think a non slacking Kin or Emp versus a Fire blaster.

The Kin or Emp is busy buffing/healing me which is a crucial part of the encounter/survivability, if I go around spamming Fireball and RoF will my rewards be greater?

Correct, however a bad player only hurts hims self when solo. For these raids I have a feeling it won't be as easy as a bunch of soloers jumping and being able to do them successfully (as they shouldn't be able to) like the Mothership Raid.

These sound just a tad bit harder than the Mothership Raid. LOL
