I just want to go back to pre i20 CoH......
I like the new trials mechanically but hate, HATE the way the rewards are calculated and the ridiculous grind of it all. I also don't like that these new powers trivialize all existing lvl 50 content. The Alpha slot was great, it was something that improved my toon but was not game changing/breaking. I would happily give back the keys to these shiny new powers in order to return to the game that I've loved for 5 years now. I want to wake up and discover it was all just a dream.... -
Very sorry to hear this sad news.

So how long before this one gets deleted??
Perhaps since PvP is mentioned, no one will notice.... -

Quote:I think this is exactly whats happening, I have also seen lots of Leagues take anyone looking but fill it before launching. There really needs to be an option to wait until the event is full in the LFG.I think it has less to do with wanting specific ATs/powersets for the trials, and more to do with the fact that if you queue up the event will start far below the capacity of the trial. People want to do them with full leagues. I've seen plenty of leagues forming that take any and all comers, but wait until full before starting the event.
Until it's possible to have the queue wait for an event to be at capacity before beginning, people will continue to bypass it.
I have tried it in its current state twice and those were not pleasant experiences. The wait times are very misleading and it seems that when it start with the minimum to launch, half of the team will quit within the first 5 min. I will continue to ignore LFG until it is refined. -
Quote:Thats not really true at all. Personally I avoid starting trials in RWZ because there are 3 other TFs plus MS raids that start there. Forming iTrials there are inconvient for all the people trying to form their LGTFs, their Tin mages, their Apex's and If a MS raid is going on that instance of the zone is basicly useless for anyone forming an iTrial. We've got that. It's called the RWZ.
But apparently people launching trials don't like it because it's full of people launching trials.
And that annoys them so much that they go to the Pocket D to launch trials because there's no one there launching trials, and are then surprised that people are annoyed at them for launching trials there.
.
IMHO, RWZ is the worst place to start an iTrial. -

Ok I just finished another BaF and this one was for a MOBAF so we had smaller teams on the AVs at the end and boy was that fun! Myself and another tank were on Seige and as soon as I got 2 rings and backed off the other tank was right there with taunt and by the time my rings went away he had 2 rings so I taunted and began the process over again.
Kudos the other tank because there was no discussion about this, we just figured out what our roles were and fulfilled them.
This seemed much easier to do when the teams were smaller, it just became very clear what needed to be done. The chaos of 20+ people pounding on the AVs at court can obscure ones role and its simpler to synchronize with a small group. -
Great suggestions, thx. Sounds like I should try bouncing between adds and AVs, I'll give that a try next time. I think part of my specific problem is that my only ranged attack is slotted with a full set of Mocking Beratement meaning that once I pull away I can't really attack the AVs anymore or I risk pulling them out of alignment and getting sequestered. Hopping on the spawns would certainly make me feel less useless during downtime.
It can really be a challenge for a tanker to let go of that aggro. For his whole career his main duty has been to take those punches to the head and keep all the baddies looking at him so my team mates can pummel them safely. Having to shed that aggro is giving me an identity crisis -
I tanked the BaF a few times over the last few days and have been having some trouble figuring out the best tactic here.
Im a SS/Invul (the big purple guy in my sig pic) and I find I get maybe 10-15 hits in before I have 2 warnings and have to back off. The problem is that by the time I need to back off I have the full attention of at least one of the AVs. If I back off they attempt to follow and fall out of the position we worked so hard to get them into, i.e right next to one another.
So I end up jumping around like a spaz getting behind the other AV to draw them closer together but then jumping back to the other side so they don't go too far. I repeat this until my warnings go away then start the whole process over again.
Has anyone found a better way to handle this? Am I missing something? Its certainly not the worst problem ever but I'd like to refine my tactics for this portion of the Trial if possible.
Thanks -
I was on a couple of BaFs last night and the leader ran a couple in succession. After the first one, which was done in the Team 1 NS, Team 2 Seige, team 3 ambushes style, I sent the leader a tell suggesting that 1 or 2 people from each team handle the ambushes as to maximize the iXP for everyone. He was receptive and we did it and I think it worked out quite well. Its a workaround but its all we have atm.
BTW: I think its important to make these type of tactical suggestions via Tells as not to confuse the rest of the league. Also if the leader is not receptive you haven't split the league in a for/against situation. Bottom line is the leader is the leader and as long as their tactics get the job done I'm happy be a good soldier and follow orders. -
When I advertise myself for anything I refuse to list anything beyond my level and AT. Thats all any good leader needs and if someone wants more than that then it is unlikely that its someone I'd want to team with anyway.
I have seen very long adverts like, "50 (+3) A4,J3,D3,I2,L3 MA/Elec scrapper lf such and such" This is absolutely ridiculous. When I build a team I have no use for all that info, I was just looking for damge....I don't need your your in game life story.
Only exception would be Apex and Tin since you need the Alpha slotted but even then I see no reason to list or demand any of the other slots. -
Yeah, this happens on every dang run. At least 1 hold out, no matter how much people are begging others to check their temp powers. I have also had a couple fail because of this.
This really needs to be addressed. When 1 person can ruin a trial for 15 other people there is certainly a problem. -

Don't you dare get rid of male huge! I use it all the time.
Female huge......I wouldn't use. unless it was just a more muscular female. I could get behind that. -

I heard (i.e. take it with a grain of salt) that there was a bug that allowed some J powers to be buffable. If this is the case (again, grain of salt) its certainly not WAI.

Wooden Robot ftw!!

Robots are cool! The 2 giant bots in the itf always tick me off, I wanna beat em up sooo bad!! -
You might have to push it to once a week or more for those top level recipes. I know I would run it every darn day if I could get a PVP +3 Def out of it. I could use about a dozen of those
Getting a full set of purps in a week would also be too attractive to pass up. People would then be running this to the exclusion of most other content.
The rate at which you could obtain these would have to be on par with the hero merit path. That being said, I would much rather spend 4-6 hours once a month to get them than 30 min a day for 20-40 days
Man, can you imagine the market uproar if people could drop purps and PvPs on there every day. However something like this might make prices for the good stuff drop significantly. Thant alone might make it worthwhile -
I'd be more prone to do it that way but I don't think there is snowballs chance in hell of them letting us pick any recipe in the game. Perhaps if purps and PvPs come off the table....
I would be happy enough if they made it a level 50 TF just so I can keep all my powers and set bonuses.
FYI- as of i20 any level content can drop shards as long as you have unlocked the alpha slot. -
The only one that was really competing for my attention was the -to hit/-regen one but I went with Reactive and have no regrets. Also seeing the bad guys randomly burst into flames is sweet!
-
Interface does in fact have graphics. I got the -resist/fire damage one on my ele/sd scrap and dudes burst into tiny flames upon shield charge and stuff. It only lasts a couple seconds but very satisfying.

I can get on board with Tanks getting a higher taunt limit. With IOs and alphas and such, scraps and brutes can be made nearly as tough as tanks. Giving tanks a higher taunt limit would keep them unique and viable.
Raising the aggro limit for all ATs would be less than desirable imho.
