Judgement isn't supposed to be buffable outside of the Alpha slot. But is it?

A teammate of mine last night said that Build Up, red inspirations, and possibly AAO were all buffing her common Ion Judgement. She says she used Build Up and downed a bunch of reds and tripled her damage with it.

This is not supposed to be the case according to the patch notes, and it wasn't the case the last time I tested it in Beta (though I tested it with Rage and Fury, not Build Up and red insps or AAO). She /bugged it, and I posted about it in the Incarnate Slots bug thread in the Beta forums.

Has anyone else tested this? I don't have Judgement yet on live, so I can't, and the Beta server is locked.

From my experiences with it, the only thing that increases Judgements damage are -resist debuffs on the enemies. I know Fulcrum Shift does nothing for it, and I haven't seen popping any number of reds increase its damage either.

edit: Though my testing is with Void, not Ion.

There was a scrapper using judgement who was claiming to land criticals with his judgment. Whether this is true or not, I was unable to determine but who knows.

there is currently a bug with ion judgement, the initial hit is not affected by dmg buffs, but when it does a jump, the jumps are buffable by dmg buffs atm

I heard (i.e. take it with a grain of salt) that there was a bug that allowed some J powers to be buffable. If this is the case (again, grain of salt) its certainly not WAI.

Note that some Judgement powers have a chance for extra damage against certain classes of foes. I don't know if the word "Critical" is actually used when this happens.

Yeah watched a kin controller nuking romans for 1330. My void judgement felt so tiny.

Some judgement powers DO critical , it says in white text "Judgement Critical" , if you right click powers in the incarnate tab you will bring up details about em.

As was said in Gran Torino, "Your world is nothing more than all the tiny things you've left behind", let CoH be one of those things. Don't forget, forgive.

My Widow can, and does, land critical judgements. This is usually followed by me giggling like a schoolgirl.

they arent actual criticals per se, those poeple are using the "core" tree judgement which has a chance to do some additional dmg

Interesting... and that definitley explains something odd I noticed throwing it at groups of 9CUs yesterday afternoon.

I have the Tier 3 Core version on my stalker, and when I tossed Ionic at groups using her Build-up out of Hide the target I centered on did indeed take much less damage than the other bots the effect "jumped" to afterwards. (Which was bad since said-anchor-target would then turn around and zark the crap out of her... but that's sort-of the story of a stalker's life. XD)
