This, as The Other Game is moving away from 40+ player raids.
Heck, when I read the post and saw "don't need a big group" in the same breath as "only require 8 players" and "12 players"... "only", he says. There seems to be a fundamental disconnect here, or at least a strong difference of opinion as to what constitutes "big group[s]". Maybe compared to a mothership or Hami raid.
(It's not a problem for me, as I play on Virtue and have lots of friends to play with. But I feel for others who don't have the option or inclination.)

Even the low population servers can manage Hami Raids and Mother Ship Raids by scheduling them. I don't think 8-12 is insuperable for any server. And for Raids, is indeed 'small.'

I imagine the trials will be kept to the smaller numbers to be honest...and that they'll just add the ability to queue up for hamidon raids and other "big threat" type content additions to it.
Long as they keep it so everything is capable of being done with a completely random group of players it shouldn't be so bad.

It almost seems like this new League system is going to become a new form of Supergroup, at least as far as the social interactions and team coordination aspects go. This may be a step towards divorcing the whole "player groupings" concept from the existing Supergroup base/PvP dead-weight that's never really seriously been supported ever since the expectations for SG PvP failed to materialize.
I suppose we'll see how it works out.

As many pugs full of fail have shown you can still have 8 people appearing in the team window and doing their own thing, that they might as well be 8 soloers.

I have a feeling if you literally had 48 solors in the League your League would fail the Trials miserably. As they should.

Interesting news. I only have two problems with this:
#1 The constant mapserver disconnects when the server is "yellow"
#2 The horrid lag when 20 or more 50s get together with all their effects/capes etc

The Kin or Emp is busy buffing/healing me which is a crucial part of the encounter/survivability, if I go around spamming Fireball and RoF will my rewards be greater?
