true. I guess if they had released what it was to craft them before hand, with no information about what the rare and very rare slots do, then i guess that would be the question this time around.

For me, knowing what they do is far more important than how much they cost. because regardless im gonna have run a ton of TFs :P

Another thing I wish, before 19.5 and definitely before i20, is for them to come out and explicitly say that Shards are or are not used for the other Incarnate slots besides the Alpha.

Based on the Info description for them, I think they are only used for the Alpha components.

Other people however are grinding to stockpile them with the aim of making their Judgment etc, as soon as it drops. I'd like to save them the effort if need be and have a conclusive red name post to point to.

Actually that would the marketing choice, not the Devs.

I quite agree with you on the devs telling us what we will need past alpha. If my guess is right, the stockpilers probably will not have any left after 19.5.

I am betting on soemthing along the lines for rares to require:

2 uncommons 1 common shards and 12 shards to make 1 rare shard and each rare slot will need 1 rare 1 uncommon 1 common and 8 shards to make. Not saying they wont have enough; just that they will be depleted.

The amount seems to double:

4 to make a Common.
8 to make an Uncommon (+ the Common component)
16 to make a Rare (+ the Uncommon?)
32 to make a Very Rare (+ the Rare?)

Yikes...

The Common boost costs 3 common components, which is equivalent to 12 shards.

The Uncommon boost costs a Common boost, 2 common components, and an uncommon component. That's equivalent to 12 + 8 + 12 = 32 shards.

The cost of a Rare boost is unknown. I assume that it will include at least one Uncommon boost, plus other stuff. My guess would be that it will cost two Uncommon boosts, which would make its total equivalent cost 64 shards.

The Very Rare boost costs "Any 2 Rare", according to the official Going Rogue site, which Teeko linked above. If that's still accurate, and if my guess about Rares is anywhere near the mark, that gives us an equivalent cost in the vicinity of 128 shards.

Of course, stockpiling components as well as shards will help, but that's still a lot of stuff to make one Very Rare.

I was reading the descriptions of the rare and very rare alpha slot and was wondering if any one knows what a "level shift" is?

You level up in terms of how the enemies will con to you. But your enhancements and stuff are safe, so you don't have to worry about getting new "Level 52 IOs!" or anything like that.

Say you are running the Apex or Tin Mage TF, with level shift on your character, they will fight as level 53's, but still 54's for those that do not have the shift.

As for crafting, if it is possible, run as many different tf's as possible between now and when launched to earn the shards and the common drop instead of the merits. At least this way you will earn both and the over all rare cost will not be as high.

For those that don't have time to run the tf's I feel bad for. I have run a few newspaper/radio missions with my incarnate and have gotten a total of 6 shard drops since i19. There needs to be another way to earn the shards, perhaps instead of merit rewards at the end on level 50 story arcs, the option to earn 2 shards should be available as well.

When I want a barefoot character, I usually go with the Zombie feet. They aren't perfect, but they look 100 times better than the normal bare feet.

Very interested to see this one. It seems like the sweet spot between setting it too low and getting 'half of the people who stick with their 50s will get the new stuff on the first day' and setting it too high and getting 'casual players will never reasonably dedicate to this' is pretty small.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

My heart yearns for the former, but my gut tells me it'll most likely be the latter, based on how the development team is approaching the concept of "end game" lately.

Your effective combat level will shift one level higher. So you'll still be fighting 54s regardless, but those 54s will be +4 (all purple) to people with a common or uncommon, but +3 (minions red, the rest purple) to those with a rare or very rare.

Good for you! As to the cuteness factor, if you follow the link you'll see it's not my cat so I'm not emotionally involved in its relative attractiveness. I do animal rescue and that was one of five motherless kittens I watched overnight.
