If you like comics, you should read FF #1 - 50 and #232 - 293.

A major character whose death is temporary? Wouldn't that be a poorly conceived, cheap, marketing gimmick? A cliche that demonstrates a lack of imagination, a lack of respect for the source material and insults the reader's intelligence? That NEVER happens in comics. (at least not this week)

True. Fortunately for Marvel it's happening in about two weeks.

Well, there's always Squirrel Girl.

Actually, I want a 12 issue limited series where all the villains get together and try to take down Squirrel Girl once and for all.

They can even bring back the fun version of Damage Control by having them start to follow her around, knowing that someone's going to attack sooner or later and cause some property damage.

Passing on any "death of" storylines. The shock value is growing stale, Quesada.

This statement is always true. Any time you have a Hickman, it's the wrong one; best to avoid having one altogether.

The most surprising part of the announcement, for me, was finding out there are still newsstands.

It's an old-timey way of saying Borders and Barnes & Noble.

A REBOOT.
That's a good point. Marvel needs a full reboot, and this could be the start of one.

Heh. I've said in the past that I've felt that Marvel needed a "Crisis On Infinite Earths" or something similar.

i suspect the current management would give us an "Ultimate Inanity on Earths in Crisis to Infinity!" (And beyond.)

"In this crisis everybody dies!" (And comes back with even less coherent backstories.)

"Like nothing you've ever seen before!" (Assuming you've been blind since birth.)

"Five years in the making!" (In terms of man-hours. We had 150 staffers arguing with each other for over two weeks before we decided to throw out everything they suggested and wing it.)

WOW ! I am shocked, flabbergasted ,no nay awestruck that a major character in a comic book charaster will die in said book. Yeah right, they need a new schtick this one is old.

When in doubt just think that The Ultimates 3 and Ultimatium never happened and we have some good series.

I really do like the Ultimate Avengers title so far...

Seriously old. I'm actually really surprised they would pull this out. It's been, what, two weeks since the last major character died? Marvel is really out of touch with their readership if they think this will get anything but eye rolls out of them.

Marvel, and DC, both need to just shut down everything every 10 years or so and completely reboot their universes.

@Doctor Gemini

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

I don't mind the disjointed continuity when I'm invested in singular series. It's only when the comics I read get dragged into a big event of the season.

At least Uncle Ben and Captain Mar-Vel have stayed dead.
