Fantastic Four to die!

Am I crazy, or does anybody else that has read #587 think that his death parallels the events of our Rikti War and Hero One and his team? That maybe he will come back, all "bug-afied" like ours did? Didn't the writer do some MA arcs, too?

Hey, with Johnny gone perhaps the Frightful Four will finally recruit Captain Ultra.

No, it'll be Wolverine, his left set of claws, his right set of claws, and a can of beer. Guest starring Ben Grimm from time to time.

Things are beginning to veer into the subjective at this point. I wasn't thinking of just length of writing, but also impact, which is tricky to target. I maintain that Lee & Kirby's five-year run on FF, or even John Byrne's, is going to be impossible to match these days under current industry conditions, no matter who gets killed off, temporarily. I concede, however, I've no method of proving this, at least not until I gain the power of the Cosmic Cube and am able to bend reality itself to my merest whim.

Unfortunately, by that time, Johnny Storm will have long since returned from the dead and will re-team with the Fantastic Four to stop me in a multi-issue crossover story arc.

Hard to top "impact" when you're talking about 2 guys that not only created the characters, but pretty much changed the nature of the genre.

Epic thread necromancy is the only adequate response to this {SPOILER}.

Unfortunately, your link isn't working.

Even more unfortunate for me, after skimming this thread I looked at the Wikipedia entry on Jonathan Hickman's FF (Future Foundation). <.<

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

Hmn. The cache still works for my browser, but here's the article I was hot-linking to.

(It's not like Marvel isn't making a full-court press release out of this.)

Epic thread necromancy indeed, but the gravity of it is justified. Can't say it wasn't expected.

This really makes me wonder if whoever dies in the current Signature Story Arc will actually remain dead.

When I read the thread title, I thought, "Didn't they just do that a few months ago? They're killing one again?"

Then I read TrueGentleman's link and decided they probably will.

Oh, well. At least that interesting white costume for Spider-Man came out of this (I liked it, though it doesn't really say "Spider-Man" to me; please don't kill me ...).

again with this? Are they going to kill off Human Torch again? Then what? Write themselves into a corner and just reboot like they always do and then when it gets to an "anniversary" issue adjust the numbering back to the old numbering? Please Marvel......

In a future SSA, DeadHero will return alive, as if nothing was really wrong. We'll get to go check out their grave, only to find it empty.

Eventually, we'll discover that the revived DeadHero is really a Nemesis robot of DeadHero that has malfunctioned and thinks it's really the hero, and he/she will get to "die" all over again.

The body of the real DeadHero? Dug up by some Vahz, stuffed full of machine parts, and currently serving as an animatronic attraction at the Kings Row Chuck-E-Cheeze. Dr V needed the cash.

*Peter Parker wakes up and slowly makes his way to the bathroom for a shower when he hears the shower is already on, causing him to open the shower door*

MJ: Tiger. You just hit the jackpot.

*she puuls him into the shower and the last thing you see is a close up of their wedding rings*

or the Scarlet Witch gets pissed off on how bad the world is, and just retcons it back to pre-Civil War?

Eh, not really surprised by Johnny's rebirth/survival. Last major death that stuck was Gwen Stacy, if I am remembering correctly.... (not counting the clone, that is to say)

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Wanda: No.... more.... foolishness. *FLASH!!*

This actually makes me wonder how will the Avengers: Childrens Crussade end. She alreadt gave Rictor back his powers and brought Ant Man back to life. I'm almost sure nothing that happens in a book that comes out every other month will stick, though.
