This is how stupid this mission is . I pushed him into the lava, he sank so I coudn't target him then as he dropped -29 health he regenerated faster to full health!!

I couldn't target him so had to quit the mission.

Were you trying to click on him? Just hit 1 until his reticle comes up.

Just did this on my elec/elec/munitions blaster in 25 seconds flat.

clicking, tabbing no difference, I could select him and watch his heath but I couldn't attack.

He went down fairly easily on my fire/ice blaster. I concentrated on spamming Char, with a little backup from Freezing Touch from /ice, while taking out the clones when they spawned, and then took him down once he was held. The was without pulling him into the lava or out of the room away from the clones -- either of those strategies would be a good backup if you don't have the raw damage.

Sounds like you were unlucky and he got stuck on a hole in the map.

You mention how you get attacked by posters in the thread so quickly, yet you toss out things like this?

Really, if the game is frustrating to you more than it is fun, it is in your best interests for your own health to take a step back.

The only other thing I have read in this is that you find some of the encounters to be difficult. They are supposed to be. This is no longer content that you can just run in and button mash.

Just because you have tried some tactics and failed, does NOT mean it cannot be done, only that it needs different tactics.

I19 content can be solo'd as has been said. but i will be the first one to offer a helping hand if you switch to Virtue. I run the SG Retrospective and we also have a Villain side SG ...we are small tight group new recruits must be 18 + and we also use ventrilo... i have helped every single one of my SG that needs there alpha unlocked...come over and see whats up ...my global is @C'hrome

I agree that you are probably just on the wrong server. The more heavily populated ones, like Freedom and Virtue have stuff going on at all hours of the game. I've personally played at 3am on Virtue and found lots of players around.

It is important, though that you use the channels used by your sever for organizing these things, otherwise it will be nearly impossible to find anything.

If all else fails and you don't see something being organized, organize one yourself. It's amazing how otherwise unknown people come crawling out of the woodwork as soon as you publicly announce you are organizing something. Just last night I was playing with a level 4 character and there was nobody playing with lowbies at all. I announced a lowbie team and had four in seconds and a couple more in 5 minutes.

I think you were just unlucky.

myself? I got 6 shards by soloing in 5 missions. One of the missions I received 3 shards, 2 missions I didn't get any shards, and 2 missions I got 1 shard each, so yeah, rare, but not as rare as purples. which reminds me I got one last night too.

Yeah well I solo'd that same mission of a Psychic Blast/Kin defender that only has SO's. If my uber squishy can do this mission solo then the problem you're experiencing isn't with the game it's somewhere between your keyboard and your chair.

Edit: It's amazing what you can defeat solo when you plan ahead for a mission and bring along something like a Shivan or a Vanguard HVAS.

A PEBKAC problem!

When you're in tech support...you see these a lot.

Some of them are downright hilarious. Others make me want to exterminate most of the human race...well I still kind of want to do that. I just can't seem to get together enough weapons grade plutonium...

I did the arc first with my blaster, breezed through all the missions, pull him away into the tunnels and the regen will cease, pop a bunch of inspirations, bring him into the lava...the arc is easy.

Crap. I got 5 in one TF run, and that equates to about 4-5 standard missions. They are about as common as yellow recipes, so fairly frequent.
Just do missions as normal. You WILL get the components you need. Problem solved.

If you then whine about soloing, well, thats your own fault really.

The issue here, ABC123, is you want everything, right now. Chances are you can play the game like you would always play the game (maybe you have to crank the difficulty up a little) and you'll get an Alpha slotted in, oh, a weeks time. It only takes twelve shards to get one.

Here, I'll give you a huge hint. Do +1 Vanguard missions versus the Rikti. You'll be earning Vanguard merits to buy Incarnate components (only need 150) while also earning shards. You can do this solo, enjoy the Vanguard content, and with a little bit of time get an Alpha enhancement.

Personally, I think this content is just what the game needed. People are actually doing the missions instead of trying to short cut to the end. Finally people want to fight instead of skipping. Also, it is time consuming enough that you won't fully deck out all your 50s, but not so much so that you feel you aren't making progress. Perfect combination!

I did it on a SO'd energy/sonic corr with endurance problems. Knocked him back in the lava and let it wittle him away. It more than makes up for his regen.

Hell, find a Mothership Raid that's going on and join it.

Attended one on Union on Wednesday evening. 591 VG merits and 5 or so Incarnate Shards.

Trade in 150 of those VG merits for a Gr'ai Matter and you're most of the way to a common alpha enhancement (or at least most of the way to a common that uses Gr'ai Matter, anyway...).

My understanding of the Incarnate system is that it is not intended to be a 'one week later and you're done' system. It's an ongoing thing and while you can speed things up by running TF's, it's all available solo.

Oh and Incarnate Shards are nowhere near as rare as purple recipe drops. they seem to be about rare salvage drop rate solo, slightly higher than that teamed, as I seem to remember reading in beta that unlike salvage drops, everyone on a team has a chance to get a shard with each kill. It's not a change of a drop and then that drop goes to one team member.

Warning:

The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.

Isn't it? I ran my TA/Arch Defender through Ramiel's arc, and with the appropriate use of Vanguard HVASes was able to do it solo.

You can obtain Incarnate salvage solo.

Errr, yes, you can do everything solo. You can solo the incarnate arc and then run level 50 missions for shard drops. You don't need a team.

And right now, everyone in the world is spamming crazy for teams, step into the RWZ and you'll get blown away with invites.

Well no one can convince you if you think like this. I suggest you put the game back on the shelf if you really feel this way. It happens, people get tired of games. /shrug I love the game and have been playing it since the start but I certainly take breaks and I enjoy this particular pretty pig.

Based on what, your psychic intuition or a few hours of farming?

ABC, the times you are playing puts it around 5-6am US West coast time and 8-9am East coast time, it's no wonder you're having issues with finding people. Have you tried just waiting/looking for a team in Ouro? Is it possible for you to get on around 6-7 your time?

As for Trapdoor, some characters can wade right in and smash away at him, for others it will require tactics. I solo'd him on my Ill/Emp Controller, totally ignored his clone(s) other than an occasional confusion.

I can't remember what you said your build is on your blaster, but they're not called 'Glass Hammers' for nothing. But inspirations are your friend, and often people forget the Empowerment Station. If your character is in an SG that has one, use it.

Have you tried asking for help down in the Justice forums? I play on Justice myself, but just not at that time of the morning for me. I suppose I could make an exception for a fellow Justicite, my Ice/Rad makes making quick work of Trapdoor, Holtz, and the Weakened Honoree seem simple.

As for the components that can be gotten at the end of certain TF's, they can also be crafted from shards. The TF's are not the only way to get them, I crafted two of my Uncommon components that way last night.

I think the reason you couldn't attack him is that you're meant to talk to him at that point.

You don't actually beat Trapdoor up all the way. He only gets to a certain fraction of his health before yelling that you should stop.

Maybe that's the problem? He's had to leave his nice safe & secure AE building, and he's realised he's got to actually put some effort into things, now!
