Discussion: Issue 19 Launch Update

Since we're in the mood for postponing things, can you guys please postpone my re-bill by 15 days? I only re-subbed just this past weekend in hopes that all of the stuff I was looking forward to when I purchased GR was on the time-table for this week. Now you say that you have to postpone what I have been looking forward to since I bought GR some more? Fair enough, postpone my re-bill while your at it to account for the 15 days that I won't be playing this in the meantime.

You could use those 15 days to get yourself ready for Incarnates

I agree. I think both options are lame. One just less than the other.

I don't think delaying something that's not ready to be released is lame

My toons have been locked and loaded, waiting for incarnates for months, years even.......

Neither do I. I think it's lame that it is not ready.

What I really want to thank you for is just communicating at all. I don't know if there was some sort of new guideline brought into effect severely limiting developer interaction on the forums, if things are just really that busy at PS right now, or if there's some other reason or combination of reasons, but developer communication has been noticeably lower lately. Even during this Issue's admittedly short closed beta, there wasn't a whole lot of interaction between developers and testers. I know that we're usually spoiled when it comes to developer interaction, but things have just been rather quiet as of late.

Yeah, Nth'd. A scosh more communication would be helpful in general, although I think at this point everyone saw the delay coming. Still good to know officially and in advance of, say, Friday afternoon.

Then spend the next 15 days on the beta server, testing the new TFs and coming up with the best strategy for them, as well as testing out drop rates for Incarnate Shards

Aww, but I wanted my Incarnate now...

Still, thanks for the update, and for being sensible enough to not launch with a bug like that. Delays are annoying. Getting a character messed up is much worse.

I'm sure they're working as hard as they can to make it work

I'm sure they are. I'm not calling WW or the devs lame. I'm not sure why you feel the need to defend them to me, it is weird and not really relevant to anything.

edit: And if it came across as me calling the devs lame, my apologies for communicating much badly.

One of the many reasons I play this game. One of the better experiences I have had with the development community. Thank you for taking the time to let us know what is being planned. I think the majority of us would much rather have something come out that works well and is a smoother experience for ALL rather than something that is broken.

Also thanks to the Beta Testers both closed and open who provide this kind of feedback and continue to make this one of the greatest MMO communties !!!

Now I have more time to plan respecs and buy recipes !!!!

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

Thanks for the update.

Now to get the Praetorian to 50 while finishing my favorite story arcs.

Perfectly understandable, War Witch. Delaying the release to come out with a polished and relatively bug-free product is the right thing to do. It'll get here when it's here.

Thanks for the heads up and the smart call.

As long as it is out by the 7th of December I'll be satisfied.

To what end? Does the incarnate stuff transfer over from Beta now?! I already did the new arc (on a dom), and I still need 3 more shards to have an incarnate boost. The fastest drop rate is from running the usual TFs but I don't ever hardly run the usual TFs on live anymore, can't imagine them being ran in abundance on Beta.

I'd even go as far to say that they could have released the issue as is just so long as tanks, broots, scrappers and fire/kins weren't affected by any bugs. Most people would have found a way to play it and the delay to playing their main would have been just as long anyways for when the fix came as it would be by postponing the whole thing.

Pipe down girlie!

Actually, that's the most popular activity on beta - there are TFs being run almost all the time

Releasing an update where "most people would be able to find a way to play it" wouldn't really be in line with the almost totally bug-free launch of GR - new players who joined in GR will expect a certain high standard

There! That's better.

I just find the notion amusing that they'll be working on Inherent Fitness while half the office is zonked out on trytophan from the turkey.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

Yeah the "new" tf's are being run in abundance, the ones where you're underpowered if you haven't put the time into powering up your toon to be able to play them. I don't mind putting the time in on the live servers because that's where the few remaining people are and I know that I can just copy my character to test if I ever wanted to and not lose anything I have achieved.

New players that have joined at launch would also have learned to expect by now that fitness was a mandatory pool power to take. Things change, just not when they "should" have, the change keeps getting postponed and reduced.

Here's to lowering expectations everyday!
