Issues with the NCsoft Store

This whole waiting for 24 hours thing is absolutely ridiculous and does not in any way circumvent fraudulent behavior. All it does is severely tick off your paying customers. If in this day and age you can't find a better way to protect yourself from fraud, maybe NCSoft is not cut out for micropayment services.

I have bought almost every single pack/add on as soon as they've been available up until the Mutant Pack. I was in the process of moving and didn't have the time to purchase it. I come back, purchase the Alpha/Omega pack last night and it goes through fine. Go to bed, go to work...come home to purchase the Mutant pack and it won't let me.

Get this crap fixed please. It's beyond silly.

The problem is that we don't even know is the attempted charge is even sent to our bank or not. Too many attempts and my bank calls it fraud and I have to call and get it unblocked...long distance, I'm in Europe.

Saw the Origins pack, wanted to buy it, got hit with the following:

'We're sorry, but we are unable to accept your order at this time. Please try again later or tomorrow. If you continue to have problems, you may wish to blah blah blah..'

It's a shame.. as people want to buy the packs but are unable to do so.

EDIT: I use Firefox, so decided to, for giggles, try out if IE would let me buy the Origins pack and lo and behold, the transaction went through without a ******* hitch.

Same issue as the last two. 'Cannot accept your payment at this time' nonsense. Origins Pack. Tried IExploder and Firefox to no avail, throughout the day, several tries.

YEA!!!! they did it again they force us to wait to buy it cause they think we are a threat.
SO with that i say I AM calling them and talking to A REAL person about this cause the party pack did the same so 2 in a row is way to many. They need to make this work the first time not 3 weeks later this is making me hate NCsoft i know if there was any other way to buy add ons other then NC then i would

I decided to upgrade my second account to all expansions and packs since I have several 50's on it now. I got the "you have reached your limit" message after GR and Origins pack purchase. Since I still need the other 5 packs does this mean I need to wait 24 hours to purchase 2 more at a time? You meen I need to wait 3 days to spend $50 on a game I have been playing for 6 years? They have had my credit card for 5 years, they should know its me since I am logged in the account and using the exact same card I purchaced the other 10 things with. (Thats what the code on the back is for.)

You know I am so angry right now I am one step away from canceling the whole order and not bothering.

Ok now that I have counted to 10 and went for a walk I feel better. I called their Customer Service number and politely asked to purchase the other 5 packs, with a few verification questions he flipped a switch that allowed me to purchase as much as I wanted. He said my account would revert back to the previous status after about an hour or so. So their online store policy still sucks , but their phone Customer service was very fast and painless

So, what? We can only buy one thing every 24 hours?

I purchased the Origins Pack for my primary account and went to purchase it for my second and got the message everyone else has had. I figured the store was down and went to work and tried to get it when I got home. Got the same message so I tried paypal.

Paypal went through but said the vendor hasn't claimed payment yet.

If they are going to keep us to one purchase per day can they set it so I can upgrade both accounts at once next time?!

Had same thing happen with me today. "Sorry, we are unable to blah blah blah". Very strange since I used the same card I have on file for my monthly fee withdrawl and very strange since just a couple of months ago I was able to purchase Mutant and Magic boosters both using the same card from the same computer with nothing different.
Oh well.. just wanted Cyborg pack anyway so found a new AE edition on eBAY giving me the ability to use the cyborg pack and a free month. Sorry NC Soft..No money today from me to you.

I'm having same issue trying to get Origins Pack. Both credit card and PayPal...

Might want to check into this...

Attempted to purchase 'Origins' Upgrade for City of Heroes Account.

You have probably heard this many times and you are probably unsure of how to resolve this issue. Please do more research. Thank you.

I'm sorry, I don't want to give some middle-man money for the products I've been able to purchase online without issue in the past.

Booster packs. This is my issue with the NcSoft Store. If you make purchases in the last 180 days you can see all of your purchases. But what if you bought a booster a year ago? How do I make sure I don't buy the same thing a year later? I buy boosters in bundles. $7.00-$10.00 isn't a enough for me to make a purchase at the store. I wait until 3-5 items become available and then buy them. I know there is a serial number applied to my account that I can't see tell what I bought by the serial number.

If NCsoft moves to the F2P model, this will become a nightmare.

I am getting pretty worried about my accounts renewing...

Saddly, It seens I have problems only at NCSoft, as I use my cards world-wide (just got an amazing watch at Tokyoflash, from Japan).

Really worried, as I REFUSE TO buy Gametime cards from the Brazillian retailer (the terrible and stupid LEVELUP GAMES).

I've had issues with buying boosters from the store before, each having been resolved after a bit of back and forth with support.

This time, attempting to buy the Origins pack, I've tried with Firefox, Firefox with Adblock and NoScript completely disabled, and most recently, with IE 8. I get the "Try another retailer" message every time.

Please, please, please fix your store, NCSoft! It's not only frustrating for us - it must be losing you valuable sales too!

Hmmm...I bought the Party Pack last night for both my accounts. One was on my bankcard, and the other was on PayPal. (I did the transactions back to back.) They went through without a hitch. I have IE8 my anti-virus proggy running. I ordered late at night, and have never gotten a "Try another retailer" message or been turned down. I truly wish I could figure out why so many others are having problems so I could help. I am stumped.

Well, thanks NCSoft for the fast response on my case.
They got in touch fast, and I was able to fix the CC data.
But I wont be resting until day 16 (my renewal date) is past, and the renewing is done.
That means I had to drink a lot of coffee to stay awake, and play a lot!

You just explained why it's working for you and you don't even know it

You used your bank card for one transaction, and paypal for another. The issues doesn't exist if you're using more than one card/paypal account to make purchases. The problems arise when you try to make more than one purchase with the same credit card. It's totally ridiculous. For some silly reason, NCSoft believes if they only allow you to make 1 purchase per credit card per every 24 hours, they're actually deterring fraudulent activity.

You would think purchasing from multiple cards/accounts would set off a red flag much faster than charging $59 to one credit card. *rolls eyes*


In this time of technological wonders, there are plenty of other ways to protect yourselves from fraud. I think it's time to update training in the financial department.

Hiya I tried to buy the origin pack last night tried 5 times, it was a no go. I got the message store is down. Tried again this morning still says its down. I would really like to buy this pack so hopefully the store gets fixed, or open or whatever.
What would be nice is a redname telling us what's wrong with the store.


Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!

For what it's worth, as a counter-point to the general theme here, I sent in a complaint through the support website, they got back to me immediately, and pointed out that I was being an idiot as gently as possible.

Went back, tried again, and it worked.

So, there is solid Customer Support available.

So what was the idiocy cause apparently I must be the same type of idiot. I haven't been able to buy the Origin Pack for over a week now. Haven't bought anything else from them for a while and I think I'm doing everything right on their new purchase screen....but you never know.
