  1. First of all, Avatea, thank you very much for going to all instances of a server even if you didn't have anything to offer. That kind of dedication to your customer base is highly appreciated, even when there's no real good news to offer.

The dilemma: Based on population of all the servers, even showing up *twenty* minutes early relegated my characters to instance 2, 3, or 4. I'm *certain* I speak for others who don't have the luxury of camping out on City Of all day that this is not very equitable or accessible to the bulk of the player-base.

While it is true, it rewards the most obsessed/dedicated/work-at-home/game-at-work types for having access, it also *punishes* individuals who weren't so lucky to have that option.

This will probably lead to feelings of ill-will--I don't have them, I was lucky enough to get into a couple of instances where the packs were being handed out--but what about the person just getting home now, attempting to log into Virtue... and they're in PD5?

This sort of approach will probably be reviewed for effect after the event, one can only hope the lessons learned from it will be applied to future such events.

That all being said, thank you for your time on this, it must be very hard to do all of this work.

  2. Attempted to purchase 'Origins' Upgrade for City of Heroes Account.

"Unable to process, try another retailer"x3

You have probably heard this many times and you are probably unsure of how to resolve this issue. Please do more research. Thank you.

In response to the other option:

I'm sorry, I don't want to give some middle-man money for the products I've been able to purchase online without issue in the past.

    Thank you for your time.

  3. It's been noted earlier, and I have to agree. The top work (Christopher Robin) looks... unfinished. And while I'm *not* a super artistic type, the proportions don't mesh up right. The sight lines of the various characters, for example, do not focus on 'Your True Ideal' but instead seem to be distracted. Also, the cat looks like an afterthought, tacked on perhaps to accomplish some sort of requirement.

The second picture (Shia) the proportions are solid, there is color, and the Arachnos pamphlet-style format all lend a level of mirthful cynicism that tends to permeate Rogue Isles. The addition of three main signature-type characters yet tastefully done only helps to highlight this style.

    My vote is for Shia.

  4. I don't want to be a whiner, but wouldn't it be a lot easier on the customer relations side to just prevent me from signing in at all rather than letting me get false hope then making it look like my account has been hacked and/or has been invalidated for another reason?

Seriously, just shut down log-ins until you're done with the stuff you need to do, stop giving us the impression that the thing is working when you haven't even done the run-through yet.

  5. I like the idea that evil dictators from an alternate reality have come up with a 'Final Solution' method that inadvertently creates an operational environment where they edit themselves OUT of the reality... and one of the first attempts to correct that produced Nemesis purely by *accident*. Now that Nemesis' influence may be diminished due to influences present in I10, that other faction may once again become a focal point...

Okay. On the Battalion mention in the RWZ arcs, it should be pointed out that the Nemesis Army would almost undoubtedly have 'Battalions' and if he was such a mastermind a hundred years earlier (as evidenced by the steam-powered portal technology) it would be not so hard a leap to realize that soldiers talking to each other in terms of command (ie, Command, Battalion, etc) might have misled the Rikti into thinking they were something that they totally were not. Especially since the Rikti couldn't necessarily read the minds of steam-powered automaton. What would be more terrifying to a group of largely pacifistic people in communion with the natural environment of their world than large clanky steam powered machines of destruction?

  6. Totally different take...

We've seen what has already been worked on...

    Server transfers, character renames...

Could it be... maybe just maybe... that when everything old is new again, you get to the top then you go to the bottom of the slide and you can begin again... as the other side?

IE: The much-talked for ability to play CoV with your hero that was stuck on Hero because you started there, or vice versa?

  7. I know it sounds a bit silly, but I've actually had hopes that the LGTF would trigger a *full* round of invasion events unless there were already a round running... just because the impression you get (or at least, my impression) while running the TF is that *everything* is falling apart... and what a better way to do that than hit all the zones?

    This all being said..

  8. << Your monthly subscription doesn't make you CEO. You're just a customer. If you don't like the service, go elsewhere. So, no. It *doesn't* work the way you think it should work.

Try pulling that line with your plumber: "I'm paying you $40 an hour so you should have all the piping in my house replaced in one day." And he'll inform you how it works in real life, and not the fantasy world you're living in. >>

Or try to buy liquor from my workplace with no ID. Same deal. Just because society these days has preconditioned the consumer units to believe that they're always 'right', the reality of the situation is that laws of man and physics still apply, and are largely immutable.

Personally, I appreciate the ability to comment on bugs, concerns, and other issues. Other MMorpgs that I've been on not only discourage the discussion actively, but implement far far worse to try and fix it.

At least here, some of what we bring forward does get addressed at some point, and the GM support has been the best of any of the online things I've been involved in short of text-Muxing.

  9. Constructive notes:

Lag seems to be directly related to AoE type effects, even with them switched off for out of group effects.

Of course, when you could have forty-fifty mobs attacking not only the PCs, but also all the NPCs in the area, the AI may very well be about to have a virtual meltdown, and there's no way to address it short of a live run--the Test server is a nice idea, but it can't reflect a solid corps of players all pushing their clickbars to the utmost.

I'm just glad I was done with my mission when this was mentioned in a coaltion channel, or I would have been a lot less happy with the concept.

  10. True story, not making it up, last year on Saturday night all the open eateries in downtown Indiannapolis ran out of food, I had to go almost two miles away to find something that was open and had food. So be very wary. They may have the bugs fixed this year (it was the same night as a Bears-Colts preseason game, so that may have been a factor) but better to be prepared than not.

Also, people who do not know how to drink really pour it on this weekend, so be mindful of your fellow gamer in Indiannapolis.

  11. I don't post in the forums very often, but staves... good lord, I'd love to see them!

Also, a little bit different, but what about an animal-combat set, with bite, claw, bash, etc? And the costume bits to make more animal types?

  12. Not only can they do all of that, they can also intuitively find their target even if they are invisible in a crowd of a dozen villains.
