I'm so glad that the lag is going to be fixed. It looked like a Hami-Raid in Atlas.

Let me also take this time to point out that - whereas I am happy that you are addressing the lag, it would also be very nice for the invasion admin spam messages be limited to one channel. Some will say that I am whinning, however, to them I say: I pay for the game which I play - I also took voiced my concerns about the Admin spam before it went live. That being said - who in their right mind is going to pay for a product or service and let the one being paid (the provider) dictate what they will let them do with it? The way this works is: My dime - your time - I pay to play - you should pave the way.
Actually all I am saying is - 'Is it really necessary for the Admin Spam to be on EVERY Channel? No?! I think not either - please limit it to one channel and let me decide when and if I wish to be spammed.

Most of the "OMG MY POWERZ WONT FIRE" lag seems to come about simply when there are just too many people in a certain area. Thats just my observation, but in the initial stage of boarding the mothership when there are only a few people on top, the lag isn't that bad.
It's when 50 other people pile up that the power/recharge time lag gets really bad.
Oh and some of you folks need to stop telling people to get new computers due to server-side lag. You know who you are.
Kudos to the dev team for working on this issue. I've noticed a drop in lag since even yesterday.

Its nice to do something about the lag. Suprizingly at least on victory when there are still 50 people my powers arent slow, just a bit of lag initally getting to the ship. Then again its a small server not sure what its like on freedom dont have a toon high enough there yet. I just know that before the invasion, i would randomly get the non-fire power lag anyways, i hope this fixes that issue there too.
At any rate i still dont know why you choose mid-day to do this :/. Should have just waited till tomorrow morning to do it.

Constructive notes:
Lag seems to be directly related to AoE type effects, even with them switched off for out of group effects.
Of course, when you could have forty-fifty mobs attacking not only the PCs, but also all the NPCs in the area, the AI may very well be about to have a virtual meltdown, and there's no way to address it short of a live run--the Test server is a nice idea, but it can't reflect a solid corps of players all pushing their clickbars to the utmost.
I'm just glad I was done with my mission when this was mentioned in a coaltion channel, or I would have been a lot less happy with the concept.

I agree. The spam is beginning to get quite annoying.
Perhaps because it was a big enough issue that they wanted to get it done NOW. This also gives them an extra day before the weekend just in case there's any problems.

This lag patch was a fantastic idea. I took part in a Pylon/Mother Ship raid the day of the I10 live release, and it was NOT a pretty sight. My powers didnt activate, I couldn't move on the ship, and it was just a mess. Hopefully this patch will make the new zone more enjoyable.

Clearly you haven't bothered to read the other FULL threads on this issue You'd probably have been informed about how there are NO CHANNELS LEFT. The devs have already stated this is the case and apologized for it, but there's nothing they can do at the moment. After the event is finished, those messages will nearly disappear, only coming up when someone completes the Lady Grey TF. Too bad your dime can't be converted to education. Carry on spending your dime

So with the less lag and an hour of downtime, we actually may get more net playtime
Given that the past, what, three days have been a major lag-fest for many of us whenever a Rikti invasion happens, thus making it very dificult to attain the invasion badges, is there any chance you could extend the invasion a few more days?
I'm just asking in my run-on question there.
To help others, first you must be able to help yourself.
If they fix the lag, what excuse will I have for my shortcomings?

Waiting patiently to return to kicking Rikti tail. INVASION ROCKS
Starting at 1 PM PST/3 PM CST/4 PM EST the servers will start the spin down process to have an unscheduled patch applied to all live servers.
The patch will begin at 1:30 PST 3:30 CST & 4:30 EST.
This patch is to address lag specifically in the Rikti War Zone but should also improve results across all areas of the invasion.
We will continue to track the outcome of this patch over the next few days to see if more tuning is necessary.
Please feel free to use this thread to discuss your experience with optimization and lag in relation to the invasion specifically.
The estimated downtime is approximately one hour.
