I noticed very little lag but when I did get it it was in the form of not letting my mastermind call pets. I agree with those who said that this is not the right time to shut down the servers. Why can't you do this at a time when not so many people are playing. Most of us just got on.

Amen to that brother. I had only been on for less then 30 mins before I got the announcement that I had to get off due to maintanace

Better to do it now than later tonight... I work second shift mostly, so I'm on this game anytime between 9 pm Central - 5 am Central. Television sucks during that time, I don't have cable, I've read all my books, I've watched all my DVDs, the stores are closed near where I live, and I don't have a life (yes, I admit that openly).

Yep, there are players around the world but these are US servers (EU has their own servers - not sure about Asia). It is prime time for EDT, close for CDT, not so close for MDT, and afternoon for PDT. Considering the population distribution for the US, that means it is (or is about to be) prime time for over half the population. I know little about population distributions in Canada so can't comment on them.

I trust this will address the lag/rubberbanding/disconnections that happen everywhere, including on instanced maps, when the administration invasion spam appears as well.

1: This is not the place to discuss this. This thread is for the discussion of the server downtime and the patch being installed. Not to voice your oppinions with a subject that has been talked about many times in many other threads. And behavior like this is actually frowned upon (if not against the rules) by the forum administration and forum posters/readers alike.

2: Here you use an age old argument that has been around since the purple patch or before. While I have some feelings that mimic yours, it is not at all "the way it works." We pay a small fee for a whole month of playing a video game that is very indepth and unique. You dont call up Rock Star and [censored] them out for not making the new Grand Theft Auto game the way you want. You dont go into McDonalds and say "Hey, I pay money here! You better give me pizza. Cuz you should since that's what I want." This way of talking to the devs/GMs or whoever you were aiming at is also frowned upon and can in some cases be considered against the EULA.

So, while you are allowed to have your opinions, do some research and stop and think about what you say before you say it. Positron did say this was going to be addressed when all the crazyness of Issue 10: Invasion dies down. Hell they just came out with Issue 9 not too long ago, so I think that we will just have to deal with the anoying red messages for now.

Aw man, I liked the lag in those big battles. It was like... hazzah... you can't move! Am I held? Maybe, maybe not, that's not the point!

Oh already, less lag would be nice, but was having fun anyway.

Edit: By the way, why am I a trainee at 180 posts? You'd think I'd at least have gotten to n00b rank by now.

The lag effects my high level characters in the war zone, the admin spam is driving me out of my mind, any chance you could move it to system? error? *ANYWHERE* but admin? Make admin blockable but default it on to all channels? *SOMETHING* It's causing me to miss tells, miss things my group is saying, miss real admin messages, worst use of the admin channel in any mmo i've ever played... and I've been playing since m59 and LOK.

The alerts coming from both sides is helpful, at least for me, because I can hop back and forth on my toons on both sides to get the invasion badges. It's also nice to know while you're in an indoor mission. That mission isn't going anywhere, but those dang Rikti don't hang around all day! :P

It would be fun to actually enjoy an invasion instead of having to leave the zone due to "lagvasion".

IOW, in one to three hours it will kick in again.

I'm getting an error when I try to connect to Liberty server that comes back with "Can't connect to DBserver"

May need to give it a minute, they spin up in some type of order. So as I usually say when unscheduled patches occur.

"This is a nice time to wash the dishes"
"This is a nice time to take out the trash"
"This is a nice time to walk your dog"
"This is a nice time to call your mom"

Any variation works...but the server will be up shortly, in the meantime those things will keep you busy.

I may now be able to finish my collection of epic battle screenshots with all my heroes and villains(3 servers worth) fighting these upstart invaders!!!

Never any love for us hicks in the Mountain time zone. I was a Liberal Arts major. Any of you smarter folks in the other time zones help a poor lettered rube know what time the servers are coming back up?
