If you complained about this in Test, you already know the answer: Not enough time or in-game resources to make it happen in a timely manner.
This is how all commerce works. "Here's what I can or am willing to do for what you are paying me. If you don't like it, you'll have to pay me a lot more or just go away and find someone who will do what you want for the amount you're willing to pay."
Your monthly subscription doesn't make you CEO. You're just a customer. If you don't like the service, go elsewhere. So, no. It *doesn't* work the way you think it should work.

Would it be possible to just stick the Admin Alerts in the global section of the chat window instead of both?
I don't know how much rewriting that would take or whatnot, but it'd leave the regular chat window open and people could simply expand that one so they don't have to see the alerts constantly.

Agree with Akry Invasion is sweet keep it coming please some of us are really liking it. The "spamming" adds to the wholeness of the problem. Plus I have people posted in a few zones it is nice to know when they get there

I have found the same problem: With Death Shroud and Opressive Gloom running, it is a bear... add in a Hand Clap and it turns glacial in speed.

I've only been playing CoH for a week today...kudos on I10 and I too have noticed a considerable improvement even since yesterday afternoon on the lag during the Ritki raids.

Or try to buy liquor from my workplace with no ID. Same deal. Just because society these days has preconditioned the consumer units to believe that they're always 'right', the reality of the situation is that laws of man and physics still apply, and are largely immutable.
Personally, I appreciate the ability to comment on bugs, concerns, and other issues. Other MMorpgs that I've been on not only discourage the discussion actively, but implement far far worse to try and fix it.
At least here, some of what we bring forward does get addressed at some point, and the GM support has been the best of any of the online things I've been involved in short of text-Muxing.
My suggestions about the Admin spam messages.
Is there anyway to filter them on dev-side? So only Heroes get Hero alerts and Villains get Villain alerts? Also having them come during an indoor mission is fairly pointless.
On that note... would it be possible to set up RV-type maps in the Vanguard lobbys? Showing where the alerts are.
My suggestions about lag: During an alert stop the random driving cars. At this point anything you can do to conserve computing power would be good. Also the randomly running civilians should head indoors and off the streets.
As for the RWZ it would be nice if the other factions would actually fight the Rikti as opposed to ganging up on you when you agro both.

I wasnt sure why they took the servers down but being there the first day Issue 10 went live i was witness to the lag it caused.
My SG (The Endless on Pinnacle) got on to have a lil Event and formed teams to fight Rikti, the many people gather caused very noticable lag.
Many commented on it and even in morning when lag was not a problem, i have experienced a variety of lag issues since i10.
Thus, I'm very grateful for the patch and hope we can all enjoy more i10 goodness without lag very soon. (=>
this is actually the first issue since issue 6 where i havent noticed a massive lag and framerate performance drop. im liking issue 10 so far.

They just have to bring down the servers for a non-critical patch (yes, lag is bad but the game is still playable) at the beginning of prime time?!?!
The patch is a good thing but the timing sucks.
That's good. It's not so bad for my tankers...some of my characters, my controllers and defenders for instance, it's hard to function in all that lag, effectively Trying to even see when somebody's health was going down, much less heal them, was ridiculous--I wound up on my illusions/rad just setting healing aura on auto and hoping for the best. Less lag would be muchly pleasing!

And yet everytime I goto the market there are 5-10 people standing around with all their AoE auras blazing.
The mothership lag was kinda expected, it's the Invasions in regular zones that lag me out to the point where it isn't even fun. Hopefully this is made better.
Regarding the timing of this maintenance: remember that not everyone is in the same city as you. (Although it feels that way!) :-) People all over the world are playing CoH. It's the middle of the night for half the world.

Wait they found a cure for my alt-itis I was in the char creator screen and just ready to go to Outbreak when "BAM" DBserver disconnect. I prob lost all my hours of painstaking work just to get this BS/DA Scrapper to perfection...yea they ruined me
...I know I know he he he now I can use this time to do some research on the char background story

The most important thing about this thread... is that it exists. Downtime is necessary, we all know that... but when we are directed to the forums for more info, and that isn't here we get cranky REAL fast.
That said, I agree with a statement made above. The more people around, the more the powers lag. My personal pet theory is that the GM code which balances out your targets level with your own is going nuts with so many people of different levels to track in so many different parts of the zones. Just my sneaking hunch.
