Good point! :-)

Interesting. . .it didn't ask me.
I went back to the CoH website, but I keep getting the same code. Maybe it's over? -
I have two Game Accounts under my Master Account. I was successful in getting the code, and it works fine on one Game Account but not the other. Does anyone have any idea why? There's no mechanism for assigning it to one Game Account over another, but it would surprise me if only the first account to try to use it is the ONLY account that could ever use it.
-
Yep - I know how to deduce most of the stuff. I was just wondering if there was an easy way. It would be nice if there was a way to export your current build into a file that could be loaded into Mids. :-)
Thanks for all of the feedback, everyone! -
Menu -> ID does list all of the powers, but it appears to group them by powerset. Within each powerset, it appears to show them in the order you got them, but it doesn't show the complete order.
For example, I can tell that I selected Fortitude before I selected Absorb Pain (within the Empathy powerset) and I can tell I selected Aim before Cosmic Burst (within the Radiation Blast powerset), but I can't tell whether I selected Fortitude before or after Cosmic Burst, or where Recall Friend fits in the whole sequence.
I'm beginning to think there's no way to do this. Oh, well. -
How can I see what the build of an already existing alt is?
I can of course see the list of powers the alt has, as well as how many slots are assigned to each power. The real question is, how can I see what order I selected each power and slot? I figure the data must be stored somewhere, since the game knows how to back an alt down for task forces and exemplaring. Is there some way to view that data, or to export that data into a file?
I started keeping track of this for my more recent alts, but it didn't occur to me to do it for my older ones.
Thanks! -
Does anyone have a good build with IO set slots for an Emp/Rad Defender?
One of my first 50s from a couple of years ago is an Emp/Rad. . .I dusted him off yesterday and was surprised to see how little I had done with him. No IO sets, and I chose powers that I probably wouldn't choose knowing what I know today. :-)
I thought I'd look out here first to see if there were any good words of wisdom, but didn't see any guides or builds for Emp/Rads posted.
Thanks! -
OK. I'm going with your exact build, except that I'm swapping out Stealth for Hasten at 50. I don't plan to do PVP with this toon.
Hopefully I'll be able to get all of the IOs you mentioned so that I don't need Elude. :-)
Thanks again!
Sax -
Very interesting. By the way, I already took this toon to 50. Endurance wasn't as big a problem as I expected it to be without Stamina, although I have to admit I did find myself questioning whether or not I should have taken it (as well as Health).
I have a couple of comments and questions about your build.
Although the build I posted came straight from Mids, I forgot that I decided on the fly to take Hasten instead of Stealth at level 18. I never regretted that choice. . .but is there a good reason to stay with Stealth instead? I see you have it in your build, although not till the very end.
You did not incude Recall Friend and Teleport Foe, and included Health and Stamina instead. That's okay (as mentioned above) although TP Foe was really, really useful when I was working my up. It's the only thing that let me solo missions that had large mobs. Now that Perniscia is 50, I don't mind respec'ing it out, though.
I took the travel powers as early as possible for convenience, but again, I don't have a problem with delaying it as you did when I respec.
Why do you feel Swift is necessary when you have Quickness?
Mace Blast instead of Mace Beam? OK. Mace Beam takes FOREVER to trigger. . .I don't disagree.
The big question: how can you survive without Elude? That was the main thing that got me through levels 45-50, not to mention soloing my patron arc.
My current thought is to go with the build exactly as you have it, except dropping Swift and adding Elude back in, and taking Hasten at level 50, unless you have a convincing reason why Swift and Hasten are more valuable.
Thank you VERY MUCH for your help and input, Kioshi!

Thanks, Kioshi!
OK. . .let's try this again, with the phpbb/zetaboards setting. Any advice from anyone on the IO set slotting?

Could I have some advice on IO sets for my EM SR Stalker? The build is posted below. Please forgive me if it comes out funky. . .this is my first attempt to export from MIDS into a forum.
Thanks!

Indeed. And there are powers that enhance more than one: Accelerate Metabolism and Speed Boost take UT IOs and enhance both Run and Fly Speed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ahh. . .thank you! That's what I was looking for. I didn't realize those powers accepted Universal Travel!

[ QUOTE ]
What...? O.o
Blessing of the Zephyr and Winter's Gift have some of the most amazing set bonuses in the game!
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? From what I see, if you have the complete set, you get Ranged Defense +3.13%, Energy and Negative Energy Defense +1.565%, Area Effect Defense +3.13%, and Cold Defense +1.565%. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see 3% improvement of anything as particularly "amazing".
[ QUOTE ]
But that would be a lie. The enhancements do work on all of those aspects. Just like an Acc/Mez HO enhances Hold, Stun, Immob, etc. all at the same time.
The fact that you don't have a power that has all of those aspects doesn't mean the enhancement is only enhancing one aspect.
[/ QUOTE ]
Is there a power that has all of these aspects? I can't think of a single instance where Zephyr is enhancing more than one aspect at the same time.
Please do correct me if I'm wrong. . .I'm HOPING I'm wrong! :-)
Sax -
Thanks! That's what I was afraid of. It certainly is a lot less useful than I hoped, since ordinary IOs enhance travel better than Zephyr, and the set bonuses are really not good enough to justify using Zephyr instead.
They should rephrase the description to say it enhances "run speed, jumping, flight speed, OR teleport range". :-)
Thanks!
Sax -
How exactly does Blessing of the Zephyr work? I've asked a couple of people and gotten different answers.
As a Universal Travel enhancement, it says it can be slotted into any travel power and it will enhance run speed, jumping, flight speed, and teleport range. It that really an "and" or is it an "or"?
For instance, if I have both Super Speed and Fly, and I slot it in Super Speed, will I also see a benefit to my Flight Speed?
Thanks!
Sax -
I would like the ability to put a hot link in as my toon's description, so that if someone clicked on it, they would be taken directly to my personal home page, where I could have flat text, line breaks, HTML, pictures, or even a 500-page life story for my toon if I wanted. CoH wouldn't have to worry about storage space this way.
I enjoy writing fun bios for my toons, but I also like listing my 50s, so that I can easily show people which toons I could switch to for a team or TF. Unfortunately, there isn't enough space for me to do both as it's currently implemented.
Sax -
I like the idea of "/em throwmoney" transferring inf to nearby players, and causing confusion to enemies.
This makes me think about the idea of more emotes having actual effects.
/em whistle - a form of taunt?
/em surrender - an effect like Placate? You fool them into not attacking anymore?
I could understand the devs not wanting to have emotes granting actual powers. But how about having NPCs respond or react to them? This would not create any particular advantage to the player - it would just be fun!
/em boombox or any of the "dance" emotes - NPCs should dance with you!
/em wave - NPCs should wave back
/em wavefist - enemies could just wave their fist back at you, or NPCs could run in fear
Other thoughts?
Sax -
What if powers used by different players interacted with each other or with the environment? A player with electric or fire power should be able to take advantage of the water that baddies are standing in. (Or should be similarly able to team up with the "water blaster" mentioned earlier in this thread!) Maybe a team of fire/water or ice/water could get some kind of bonus combo attack.
Gravity trollers can lift and throw objects that come out of nowhere. . .it would be cool if you could actually use the power on objects you see on the screen, like crates or boulders or mailboxes, even if it means the power is not usable when there's nothing around.
The ability to alter the map in small ways would be interesting, but not very likely to happen. Foot Stomp to knock a hole in the floor, or a blaster shooting a hole in the wall, to create shortcuts or circle around a baddie would be interesting but painful to implement. Shooting a hole in the floor under a baddie to trap him or take falling damage would also be cool. -
Regarding the timing of this maintenance: remember that not everyone is in the same city as you. (Although it feels that way!) :-) People all over the world are playing CoH. It's the middle of the night for half the world.
