It will be a hellish experience getting that refund for my time...
Two accounts... Extra time... one was yearly... and brazillian credit cards dont like to get refunds... they are pesky little things... always want to grab our money, not give it back! -
As of now, many prized authors showed support to City of Heroes.
There was more than I can remember right now... but 3 names come to my mind:
Neil Gaiman
Laurel K. Hamilton
Mercedes Lackey
Not only they are famous and wonderful authors, but also showed their support on twitter.
And Mercedes Lackey went even far... she sent a letter to NCSoft CEO offering herself to promote the game without asking payment for it.
You 3 are... AWESOME! -

How about...
For each completed tier above 4 (including 4) you can place ONE token on the Tier9vip?
That way you handle a bit of the parts, while at the same time you keep the drive to grw on the tree...
But that would be hell to implement, and probably will generate more bugs.
Actually, any revamp here could introduce some nasty game-breaking bug, divesting resources and costing subscriptions from the Doom crowd. -

Task Forces are sacred. Once I commit to one, I will go to the end (unless my net connection falls).
But if I am PUGing, and I see a friend (SG or otherwise) needing help with something, I will help. Even if it means I drop a XP steamroller team. I always value my friends more than myself. -

There is one thing needed to make the consumables desirable:
Intensity.
I wont pay for something that will give me a small ammount of time of a small effect with a long timer attached.
If the timer is long and the duration low, make it strong!
20% or 25% more XP means nothing. I would pay for 100%, not 25%. The perceived benefit makes the enhancement less attractive.
Windfall, XP booster and Prestige boosters must, well, be boosted to be attractive.
Actually, the Prestige boosters must also be really, really strong and cheap. Because they actually are very, very limited on utility and their effects on the game are very focused.
If the item is a instant thing, make it without a long timer!
If I want to buy a lot of mission teleporters, I want to hop all over the game without waiting.
On another game, that I wont tell the name, there is some "Ressurection Cakes". I used 5 on the same mission just because I didnt wanted to run back to the mission area. By the same token, on the same game, the XP/loot enhancers had a very long duration, and If I wanted I could pop one right when the other ran out. Also they "froze" on downtime, when I logged off to sleep or so.
Things like inspirations must be REALLY, REALLY strong to attract the players. Specially because they are very, very transitory. -

How about a sidekick.. Again same concept as the pet but he, she, it levels up as you do. Its one level lower then you. You basically use the costume creator to create the look for your sidekick.
Sidekicks would come in different categories. Tank, Scrapper, Controller, Blaster, ETC.
Maybe you could control the sidekick. For example your a Martial Arts toon with a MA sidekick. You click a hold power in your tray and your sidekick then goes and puts or attempts to put your target into a full nelson or whatever this now allows you to hit that target for extra damage.
Maybe you want to be a fire blaster demon with a fire tank or brute demon side kick. 2 Soldier range blasters where instead of you doing full auto your side kick opens up with some large machine gun rambo style.
Nutshell they do the standard npc fight chain until you command them to do some key attacks.

I always wanted to make a mage-like character that is able to summon One Big Elemental...
Think about it... the Primary set gives only 1 attack (very basic, tier 1) and summons/buffs/upgrades the Pet.
The secondary can be a mesh of powers, like some of the support sets (((looks at Time Manipulation))).
Now imagine that the Summon Elemental has a selection style like the ammo thing on Dual Pistols. So according to what you used to bring your elemental, it is Fire (representing Fire), Smashing (representing Earth), Cold (representing Water) and Electric (representing Air), with secundary effects of burn (small dot, fire), KB (earth), slow (water), end-drain (Elec).
Can I have it now?

Ahh... and just to do a little comment:
How sad that everything on this game boils down on pinning mobs around the tanker and unleashing AoEs.
Guess people lost the feeling of WOOOMP. -

Tier 9 still need to be reached to get those pesky costumes...
The others already told you that the plan is for the game to rotate the tier, placing new juicy things there.
The Celestial set is just tasty!
Cant wait for the next special set... just hope its not something bulky. -

Was it the first time you reinforced the alignment or you had done it before on that character?
The first time gives you 50 merits. After that you get the Alignment Merit.
