I'm actually working on a character of the same sets myself and while Slain certainly has an effective build, it's quite far out of my reach and doesn't really follow my build philosophy, ie to use the vast majority of powers I'm slotting. No four slot flurry/boxing/kick for set bonuses for me, just not how I work!
To that end, I've put together a 'budget' build to the best of my ability to see what I could manage. Character's presently up to 17 and counting as I'm able to find teams, but I'd love input if folks have any!

I'm pretty certain stalkers are not the best at marriages, else they wouldn't be Stalkers anymore now would they?
-
Having just finished it, I now understand that! Haha, I think it's mostly because you're the undisputed lord and master of Dark Armour and with the knowledge you have it's nigh unthinkable to consider that you wouldn't have written a guide, particularly with the others you've written!
Did help me a little bit for the record, though fortunately a friend of mine had already keyed me to that tricky little proc in Dark Regeneration. What a wonderful thing that toy is! -
I actually hadn't realized you'd updated your Dark Armour guide recently, Dechs. I'll need to take a look, hopefully I can get some good stuff going! My current build plan looks solid, but who wants to settle for solid?
-
Speaking of a Dark/Stone Tanker, does anyone have an up to date build plan for one of those? Working on one myself and if there's a single set in the game that loves IO's, it's gotta be Dark Armour! Trying to figure out what incarnate stuff to take along with where to put ATO's and all that...

After running things by my teammates and considering the replies herein, we ultimately went with the elec/elec brute as stated, with myself as a cold/elec defender, and our third as a fire/dark corrupter. Having played these three together for a few hours, I must admit they're nearly unstoppable in Praetorian content so far! I've never actually looked FORWARD to praetorian ghoul ambushes before, what an unusual experience! Everyone's been having a lot of fun with it, and we're all looking forward to getting together again for some more destruction.
Thanks for your input, everyone! We appreciate it! -
A friend and myself (and possibly one other friend) are looking into making our own little personal duo/trio superteam. The one set character is an elec/elec brute, and I was thinking that a corrupter or defender would be the best thing to pair with that. Looking over the buff/debuff sets available to me, it LOOKS like pain or thermal would be the best way to make her that much more difficult to kill, but admittedly I'm better at personal synergy than team synergy! To this end, I'm looking for input on what might work best with said brute, and if we were to add a third character as part of the group, what should they be? Thanks!

Funny and informative, thanks for the guide!

I am having the same issue as the rest... but the launcher isn't finding any new patches to apply, and thus I can't seem to fix the issue, regardless of how many times I relaunch it. So much for my in-game christmas party tonight, I guess!
Here's hoping there's an official fix so I can play the game I'm paying for, yeah?
EDIT: Maybe the server is on a time delay before it'll check for new versions? Got another patch at last, should be working now. -
Same issue as the last two. 'Cannot accept your payment at this time' nonsense. Origins Pack. Tried IExploder and Firefox to no avail, throughout the day, several tries.

Oh hey, I figured out how to login. Been a year or two since THAT happened...
Neat set. I wouldn't play it personally, but neat set. Why you ask? Because I spend 99% of my time fighting big crowds, not individual hard targets. Maybe that's personal preference, but it's how I play and as such, a set that underperforms on groups 70% of the time isn't particularly useful to me. Probably similar reasons to why I don't like Poison! -
Quarterstaff. For the love of all that's holy, I would dearly love a two handed scrapper set with all the twirly and spinny and DOOM. Or Tanker as the case may be. Would be enough to convince me to make a Tanker if I had a fast two handed weapon and an armor set that didn't turn me into a christmas tree or otherwise completely obscure my costume (THERE'S a concept, wow).
EDIT: Oh, and making it Energy Staff would also very likely rock, because Scrappers like electricity/energy too. That and we have MORE than enough smashing/lethal. -
Well, I've been around since retail release and not once have I ever had a supergroup (hereafter referred to as guild) to rely on. As my interest in the game is highly contingent on people with which to muck about with, I've finally given in and decided to start looking around a bit.
Thing is, I'm not known for being pleased with larger guilds. The more people are in a guild, the more you become a number and less an individual. That and I like to know everyone in the guild at least by name if not by personality and playstyle.
As personal preference I tend to play support roles, but that's obviously only an option when I have teams to play with. My main is a cryokineticist who's been around quite literally since I first came to Virtue ('bout a year and a half ago or something?), though he isn't quite my biggest character.
So here's what I'm seeking:
- Medium sized guild
- Roleplay isn't necessary, but highly encouraged
- No PvP, not in this realm
I should warn you that I can be very, very caustic and bitter on occasions. I'm a Paladin at heart, but the world gets to me sometimes (though I usually don't talk much when I'm in a bad mood). On the upside, I do enjoy helping people a lot, so there you go.
Anyone think of something along those lines, perhaps? -
That is very, very true, CrystalMoon. I would be considered a Feral with aspects of the other two, and I can honestly say that while I don't take teams frequently, I am very protective of the ones I grow to like. I adopt them, and I become suicidally protective of everyone on it.
Now granted, that doesn't happen frequently. I prefer to duo or run alone, but every once in a while I get the urge to work with a full team. I'm remarkably good at it, but it isn't usually my preference due to the extremely high percentage of stupid people out there.
So if you ever meet a DM/Regen scrapper by the name of Alriana, realize that she's a Feral type and not easily coerced onto a team. But if you play smart... -
Quite real. A couple of the guys I worked with at my last job were Hmong. Very cool people if they're any indication. Accent is a bit hard to work through sometimes, but otherwise I rather liked them. From what they said, I get the feeling it's somewhere around/near Korea.
I'm really bad at Geography by the way. ::winces::
