Power "suppression" *CUE NERDRAGE!*

Okay, is there some way to implement power suppression so that it's actually JUST suppressing powers NOT SWITCHING THEM OFF?

Sorry! I'm getting mightily annoyed at hitting the trading house (or another suppression site) then coming out and having to waste time turning all my toggles back on again.

Huh? What powers are getting toggled off? I'm standing here in WW and none of my toggles are dropping.

Well the rest of us were getting annoyed at the spines, stormies, dark tanks, sonics and other noisy and flashy power users making us not able to concentrate and lagging everything up so we make mistakes, so SUCK IT UP.

...Though suppressing the powers instead of turning them directly off -would- be an ideal compromise.

I'm sure your annoyance level is nowhere near what it is for everyone around you and others like you that feel like they need all their auras, shields, auto firing hasten, and pets all out while they market.

Small price to pay, methinks, for some peace. It takes all of ten seconds to turn on everything again, if that. Is your time that packed that re-toggling things throws your whole schedule off?

All I can say is that I'm glad Praetoria only goes to 20, as I consider the trading house unusable and won't enter. If they left sprint and ninja run alone I could handle it, but molasses run speed is not something I want to put up with in these needlessly big rooms.

That was my main complaint as well; the auction house is pretty but large and being reduced to base walk speed is irritating.

I'd really hate it with my BS/Shield scrapper though... 7 toggles to reactivate

This. I'm hoping we'll see some similar changes made in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. It would also be nice if it was added to the tailors.

Hey, I turn off most visually flash powers when entering a market. Things like defensive toggles shutting down on an Inv tank with low-FX power customization is damnably annoying because there really aren't any visual cues to tell you they're off. And since the Praetorian power tray is just a mass of gray anyhow...

Inv/SS. Low FX on the Inv. So WHAT auras, shields, pets?

I can sympathize with you over the people who don't turn off visually flashy powers in the market. It's aggravating to me too.

But I ask again. Why not actual SUPPRESSION instead of switching them OFF?

Just stop being a loyalist and become resistance, then you can run the toggles all you want underground o.O. IIRC the resistance auction house is in their base and does not suppress your powers. You can just buy a resistance tper, so you don't have to run back and forth.

It is nice to be able to market there without six superspeeds, five hastens, four auras of varying degree, three lots of MM pets, two random buffers and a partridge in a pear tree.

Suppression would be nice, as would leaving sprint/ninja run active. However, if the choice is like Praetoria Trading house or the existing WW/BM then I will take the Trading house. It was a pleasant surprise and the only query I have is would it be possible to move the staff nearer the door. It's a lovely room but yes they are a tad far away with base level travel.

Additionally, implementing the same system at all tailors would be a welcome improvement. (And while we're at it, could we PLEASE do something about the lighting in the tailors; it's horrible.)

Me too. I'd kill for powers to be suppressed in ALL trading/auction/consignment houses. I was THRILLED to walk into the Praetoria trading house and see it.

Actually no. The tailors really need to have it not suppressed. I've come out of tailor sessions with various costume items shifted, color-changed, etc (and it wasn't my SG options) and you don't want to be halfway across the zone before you realize that you have your phasers set for "brain bleach".

Suppressing/detoggling Fly and Hover would keep one of my characters out of the consignment houses entirely. As one of the Fair Folk, she flies everywhere -- walking is for mortals.

Because at the moment, supression either turns a power off, or merely makes it have no combat effect. If it was the latter, it would still have it's gFX/sFX

"Queue" means a file or line of people or items to be processed sequentially, or the act of putting things into a queue.

"Cue" means a signal or stimulus that triggers an action, or the act of triggering an action via a cue.

While most uses of "cue" on the forums of late are in reference to the queue system, and are misused, Hyperstrike most definitely did use the right spelling of the right version of the word.

Really? Is that how it works in the AE?
Honest question, I don't go there much, but I know there's an area that supposedly suppresses ones powers.

Dude. Just turn the damn powers back on afterwards. It is not that hard. Don't be lazy.

This. Nothing annoys me more than all the auras and Pets and power SFX when in the BM/WW, especially when I'm staying there for a while. Especially since people who do that are usually rude enough to tell you off when you ask them to turn them off/dismiss pets.
Very much welcome addition. I'd gladly spend the time retoggling all 9 toggles on my /WP or the 11 toggles on my Spines/Dark everytime he walks into the market for piece and quiet while inside the Auction House.
I'd pay anything to see this implemented in every single one of the WWs/BMs.

In the AE suppression area all powers are turned off and your tray is greyed out. I can't think of any instance where powers are just suppressed and not turned off. Even when you're held aggressive toggles turn off and defensive ones still work.
