Have you run into any new players?
Judging from the broadcast chat, I've noticed a ton of returning players. I haven't been checking Vet badges, though, so I can't give an accurate word on new players.
For what it's worth, I'm on Liberty.
Run into any? Hell, I recruited one! :-D
(Although she hasn't branches out into teaming with anyone besides me yet.)
I noticed a small influx of new players to Union from the few weeks before GR. I haven't checked how many people in Praetoria are new as I've been too distracted with all the shiny, but on the night of the soft-launch the tutorial zone was filled with returning players I haven't seen for ages.

Can't say I have. But my global list has been lit up, two pages full at times. The interest from returning players is a bit astounding to be honest.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
I didn't check to see if they were returning or new but I saw a LOT of broadcast requests on how to do simple commands in Praetoria on Virtue. So they were either new or returning and asking for help with stuff that got added after they had left.

I spent a couple of hours on Freedom server the other night helping people with questions about side switching, getting to Praetoria and getting capes - so some of those must be new

Checking vet badges of characters I run across (mostly on Virtue and Victory Nova Praetoria), I find about one completely new player for every four returning/still playing players, and three of those are >4 year vets.

Yep, lots of them on Pinnacle and Infinity and Champion. Been helping as best I can, whether teaming or just answering general questions about the game.
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.
Infinity Villains
Champion, Pinnacle, Virtue Heroes
I have seen new ones, too, in the days leading up to Going Rogue also. I am excited by all the returnees.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
my gaming was cut short last night, but i plan on looking for some that need help throughout the week, its pretty fun and can be rewarding when they stay. I know there were a buttload of people on liberty's nova last night, im assuming some were new.
I've noticed quite a few asking noob questions and such on Virtue in between missions.
I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.
Fully HALF the players I found for a Pr. White arc PuG last night were on Trial Accounts - not entirely sure if that counts as "new players".
But I did LOVE the fact that Sending a Tell to a Trial Account player now generates an automatic Reply TELLING YOU THEY'RE ON A TRIAL ACCOUNT!
LOVE IT!
I never use Blind Invites, but now feel comfortable sending one to a Trial Account after sending an invite Tell so they know what's what and can Accept or Decline with some forewarning.

In my haste of taking my scrapper from heroine to villain, I haven't spent much time in Praetoria. I would assume that any new players would end up there. So, have you run into any new players there?
I'm hoping that GR draws a fair amount of new blood, though I think the main appeal of the expansion will more likely be to players that haven't played in awhile and wanted a fresh start. I've seen a few new players register and make themselves known on the forums (which is good to see), but have no sense in what GR has done with players not familiar with the City of * brand. |
There's been quite a few new players in the game all summer.

Only the one that I brought in.
There was one person last night who sent me a tell proclaiming their amazement at my having so many badges on my level 8 praetorian. They said they were impressed by my 75 month badge.
I think that's the first time I've had anyone comment on my badges at all.
That a lot of good, fun news folks. Makes me happy in special areas!
One of my old college friends wanted to take a break from WoW (though he's still playing), and I spent Saturday night with him and an SG member on Vent helping him with character creation, power sets, etc. My boy Hella suggested we go to Firebase Zulu so he could get our new friend a jetpack, and we got him up a handful of levels.
Cut to Monday, College Dave posted on my Facebook page that he has more questions now, but his reply is to have me log on to Vent where he's already with Hella IN PRAETORA! SAY WHAAAAAAAA?
Yeah, that's when I learned trial accounts get access to GR. It was a good move, Devs. Show the base games and the new shiny...draw them in to it ALL. Of course being the only kid on the block can't get in yet 'cause he's waiting for his Collector's Edition of GR to come in is a little dissapointing. But it'll come. I keep telling my self "today. It'll be here today. Just check the mailbox on the drive home!"
Well there's always tomorrow...

I haven't seen anyone that is new. The lowest vet badge I saw was 9 months and that was yesterday morning when I was by Praetor White.
I am taking my sig to MWO and MWT. Let them wonder what it means.
I haven't seen any new players since GR release, but that's because I've been nose-down soloing my new character in Praetoria. I didn't do beta, so this is "me" time right now.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!
