Devs, can you also bump the inf cap to 3bn?
Otherwise, won't canceled sales & bids potentially exceed the 2bn cap and vanish if you already have close to the cap on your toon when GR hits?

We don' need no stinkin' signatures!

I'd assume in regard to the fact that when you list something, you get charged. And people would quite like that inf back if their listings are being turned from 'Selling' to 'Storing'.

Thank you so much for this. This has wiped out any fears I have for the game.

It's about time Villains get to grab up some of that Hero money. As long as I've been playing, it always seemed like Heroes were big bankin' ballers and Villains were p*ss pot paupers. But now that both sides will be in the same economy it will be equal opportunity for everybody. It's even better that you can glee-mail between your own Heroes and Villains, because Lord knows my Vills need a bailout (My richest hero=over 760 million on hand, WITH a completed IO build. My richest villain=over 40 million on hand with SOs)

I believe you should assume that unless the devs explicitly state otherwise, things you currently cannot trade at all will not become tradeable after the merge. The only limit explicitly being removed is the restriction that many things that are tradeable or giftable in general are not tradeable or giftable across factions.

Except where that might be problematic or exploitable, the devs appear to be saying if you can give it away now, you will be able to give it away to anyone regardless of faction. If you cannot trade it at all now, that's not changing because of the merge.

THANK YOU! <3's!

For those worried about losing INF because you're storing it on the market, just take some time shortly before GR goes live to clear it off the market and email yourself to hold for a day or two. (That's my plan!)

Odd thing that. A while ago I placed a bid on Hecatomb purples redside at 250mil each and thought at the time, "Look at those last 5 bids at 1billion+ each. I'm never going to get these."

This weekend I logged in to find that all 5 hecatombs were sitting ready for me to take. All the prices had dropped to between 150mil to 300 mil when I wasn't watching.

I'm no longer worried about buying what I need on the market. Prices go up, prices go down, patience wins.

Be well, people of CoH.

A: All bids will be returned back to the “storage” state. For example, if you placed a 1000 Inf bid on Boresight, and that bid has not been filled, the 1000 inf bid will be cancelled, and will be returned in a “storage” state for your character to “claim”.

Everything currently on the market -- both items for sale and bids – will be cancelled and held in storage. In the case of bids, a message will display in a BIG RED FONT telling you that the bid was cancelled due to market merger.
How will this affect players who have total outstanding bids that exceed the current influence cap of 2 billion? To use an extreme example, what happens if a player has 8 billion influence in outstanding bids when the market merge happens? Can the system 'store' an amount that large? Will the player only be able to claim it in 2 billion increments?

I have to say I don't really see someone who would use Wal Mart, happily buying stolen goods in a car park (which is the equivalent of this merger)
I have done that IN a Wal-mart parking lot.

2 Billion inf cap is a cap.

A cap.

Getting around that with Market tricks is not a license to exceed the cap. If anything is done by the Devs that causes excess inf beyond to the cap to disappear, then, it's working as intended.

When asked, the Devs have always said using the Markets to get passed the cap is not WAI.

The Devs are being nice with all this warning so that people can get their affairs in order.

Anyone who thinks Zombie Man is wrong is going to lose a lot of inf. You guys have less than 2 months to get your inf moved to mules, I'd get started.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Who said anything about market tricks or getting around anything? Considering several different PvP IO's go for over a billion, a player could legitimately have several billion in completely valid bids on the market. Bidding on a full set or two of purple recipes could easily exceed the 2 billion cap as well.

See, this is how I would store Inf anyway. I have like 6 servers worth of empty slots just waiting to be infMules.

So create some mules, swap those bids to those toons (one bid per toon) and you'll be safe as houses.

This is relevant to my concerns... losing ~12 mil will not exactly make me a happy camper (I know that's a drop in the bucket to some of you multi-billoinaires)... I wouldn't ragequit over it or anything, but...

If you're worried about losing a listing fee 2 months from now, consider it a "list at a more reasonable price" tax.

Umm, guys debating what will happen to influence above the cap, did you read this? Everything basically remains on the market, stacked just as it was, but effectively unbound as bids or items for sale.

If a player has 8 billion stored in bids for level 53 IOs, the bids will be canceled, and the infamy will remain in a stored state on the market; you're basically bidding 2 billion for a place holder, and the place holder can't be filled. Players that have multiple bids at 2 billion in a single stack might want to diversify, but they were silly to create a single stack above the INF cap in the first place, because you'd run into the same problems if you wanted to withdraw regardless.

Look, If it comes down to this, fine. Not happy, but, fine. I would just like to know what to expect before before it happens.

Couldn't agree more. However, come close to GR golive, I will be one of those making damn sure that I have nothing on the market one way or the other.

As a sysadmin, I do not leave anything to chance when it comes to database migrations.
