A Market Journal: From 0 to Millions
Wow, what a huge difference between level 24 and level 30! My level 24 scrapper was making bronze 10-14 rolls, and the resultant recipes in the same sets were dead at 24 compared to 30. I understand why level 30 is the sweet spot, but... wow.
I'll go ahead and guess that you'll hit the cap. Two Billion!!!!!
1 bill 34 mill (1,034,000,000)
Edit: I doubt anyone will guess your mark by exact millions. If I were you, I would revise the rules a little. I would use The Price Is Right rules, whoever is closest without going over.
I guess a billion inf, I believe you can do it Dusk
500m
A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!
1.85 bill I really have no clue but... bravo !!!!!! I'm seriously impressed
There are some players out there who think it's impossible to make gobs of influence, and I'm hoping my little experiment will convince them otherwise.

Are there really players who don't believe you can make tons of inf on custom AE farms?
|
And it's not really a custom farm. I spent about 5 mins putting it together. I can use *any* AE content (dev choice arcs, player made story arcs, etc.)
EDIT: one last point. If I was going to farm efficiently, I'd probably would've chosen something other than a single target-focused ice blaster.
0.9 Billion
Day 2 - Starting inf: 21,087,948, Current Inf: 120,797,416
Had another mini break and was able to log on briefly to make some further transactions. I had enough time to put out some bids for some recipes, some salvage (oy, spell ink had spiked to 500k each!) and collect some influence again.
I am completely out of AE tickets and have been since the start of the day. What I want to make clear about this is I'm still making profit despite not having any interaction with AE.
One technique that I use is attempt to keep my market slots as full as possible. If they aren't full selling something then they're put to work in grabbing salvage or recipes that can be crafted. If you're looking to maximize profits, this is something to bear in mind.
Screenshot of some more IOs selling. By the way, I'm buying those Efficacy Adaptor recipes for almost nothing, and they're selling for 5M a pop.
hmm....
I really have no clue how facile you are with the market. Actually, I don't even have a clue how much I might be able to earn if I had to start from zero. I'll guess 205 million. |
Anyway, if you even slightly outperform my calculations on a daily basis, you'll hit the cap. Will you transfer extra influence OFF of this character in order to keep making money? Should we be making guesses like 2.7 billion?

The reward structure of MA is what makes it so efficient, not the map you run.

My City Was Gone
I will venture a completely uneducated guess and say 1,478,000,000. This is of course based on no experience, calculations, knowledge of marketeering, or asking the little green guy that lives in my closet(seriously dont ask him anything. He just throws socks at you. Thats right I keep socks in my closet!)
Interesting experiment Fury.
Just for grins, put me down for 444 M (Day 1 Guess) and 888 M (Day 2 Guess)
Fun Stuff
Cheers,

As for my guess,...1.21 Gigawatts,....errr Billion.
It is a reasonable number but I fear too low as the earning potential will raise daily depending on the sellers luck(read: buyers impatience) on the market.
684 Million
My Day 2 Guess is 772 Million
Sounds like fun. I'll guess 1,420,000,000. I mean 42 is the answer after all...
Arc 180901: Flight of the Dreadnought
My guess is a nice, round 1.25 bill. Either way, good thread Fury!
Day 2 - Starting inf: 21,087,948, Current Inf: 147,948,576
I jumped in game again for another 10 minutes after scarfing down my lunch. A few more IOs sold and a number of bids also came in. It could be a very big evening in terms of sales.
Some of the stuff that has sold today:
Level 30 Kismet Def/End for 4M
Level 30 Eradication Acc/Dmg/Rech for 20M (two sales today)
Level 50 Efficacy Adaptor End Mod for 5M each (multiple sales)
Level 34 Mako's Bite Acc/Dmg recipe for 3M
Currently I have 11 out of my 16 slots devoted to sales, while 5 are currently set on bidding desirable and sellable recipes for crafting. Oh, by the way, you know those Spell Inks I mentioned that were selling for 500k each. I snagged a stack of ten for a cool 11k each. Patience wins out in the market game.
Screen of current inventory and profit so far:
Oooooh day 2 guesses? hmmmm....
996 Million.
Day 2 - Starting inf: 21,087,948, Current Inf: 110,107,360
Another quick update since I was able to sneak away for about 10 minutes. A bunch of my listed IOs sold - many of them at current going rate even though I've been listing them for far lower. Efficacy Adaptor and Adjusted Targeting have been my friends in this effort. As per usual in a weekend, I'm running out of stock. And my ability to generate even more outrageous profit has been hampered by lack on in-game playing time.
It's nice to crack the 100M mark even though it's just the beginning of day 2.
