I'm given to understand that some people were getting free weekend e-mail resub notices on Sunday evening. Is there anything that can be done about that?

Tuesday red raids are on like Donkey Kong!

*bumps the thread again* Red raids can be really cool if we all work together! One time we even fought through 2 blooms in one shot.
We can do it and the better we work together the better the raids are! -

I have this mutation origin character on the Virtue server named Flippante that could totally benefit from the title Fabulous but it's restricted to natural origin heroes only.
I mean the Fabulous Flippante just sounds so right but he can't get the title because of his origin.
I could use Famous, Fantastic, or Freaky but none of those titles has the same ring as Fabulous.
Fantastic could do in a pinch but I really want fabulous and don't think it's fair that some of the coolest titles are origin based. -
@Eva: You made my point for me. AE custom mobs are more powerful than standard mobs and often in a way that can make them dangerously OP
I'm arguing that custom mobs shouldn't be more difficult than standard ones by default. If players need to know specific work arounds to make mobs they can face in groups of more than 1 or 2 at a time there's something wrong here.
By making custom mobs significantly more difficult players find themselves faced with a problem when making AE arcs. They can choose standard mobs and risk affecting the quality of their story (as I have chosen to do in one of my arcs) or they can make custom mobs and risk unplayability. -
Why are custom AE mobs so over powered?
I recently played an arc with custom AE arcs and a team consisting of a grav/storm troller, an invulterability tanker, and an electric devices blaster wiped continously. It's gotten to the point where I can tell I don't want to play arcs if I know that they have custom mobs because I know they will be overpowered.
As I understand it this is to prevent farming but there is a limit to how far this justification can go especially considering that people still farm. In fact the changes brought to AE have devasted the arcs made by players but done very little to really reduce farming.
The problem with overpowered custom mobs is that in doing so one nerfs player creativity. There are all kinds of stories that need to be told using custom mobs but because they are OP people are forced to choose between creativity and playability.
This isn't about farming or the social ills associated with the practice. The problem with custom AE mobs is that in making them OP farming is not nerfed but player creativity is. -
Personally I sometimes find it a bit intrusive when somebody sends me a tell asking if they can join my team, especially if I'm not team leader. I try to remain cordial thought. If the person sends me clear and understandable tells I am more likely to consider their request.
I can appreciate why people do it thought and as long as they respect a polite "no,sorry" I'm ok with it. What's rude is when a person asks me more than once in an hour, doesn't communicate properly, and/or spams several people at once.
Also look at where people are, if I'm role playing in my supergroup base chances are I won't want you to join my team. If on the other hand I'm running a PuG in Talos Island or Cap au Diable and I broadcast LFM then chances are I won't mind your tell.
I think it's largely about the situatuion, I think asking what the team is doing before asking iof you can join is probably a good idea though. -
This looks like a lot of fun
And for Astro

Guess who's back guess who's back guess who's back guess who's back
Hami Hami Hami
Hami's back for the win!
Hamidon raiding can resume as per the original schedule now, the monster mitos were fixed! -
The mito bug is derailing Hamidon raids, the past three raids I attended were cancelled and this is a problem for raiders on every server, even Virtue. This isn't simply about mechanics for the players, this is about bugs making it harder for us to play together. Hamidon raids take place in a fixed zone, no loading screens, and it's a moment when a large group of players gather to accomplish a common goal. This is what makes it a great opportunity for players to socialize. For the people who participate (or participated) in the raids Hamidon raiding is (or was) part of their (virtual) social lives. It's because Hamidon raiding (like the LGTF) motivate people to team together that it's important to keep these things running.
I can appreciate that the devs have a lot on their plate but it is important for them to address the issues that make specific kinds of group play unpopular or unrewarding. Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games are generally designed to favor group play so when a bug restricts this kind of play it seems to me that fixing it should be a priority. In my opinion what's important here is not assigning blame but finding a solution and implementing it. -
Raid day!!! I can't wait to see how well we do.
On Sunday we skipped the 50% and 25% blooms and it was awesome!!!
Add that to the amazing raids that KiTTY has been leading and I would recomment that anybody who says that Red raids are harder than Blue raids come see one of our raids and change their minds. -
So should I bring warburg Nukes?
I think I will probably bring my br00t -
A few things
1) Staging an SG wide intervention was inappropriate, it would have been better if you had talked to people and then talked to her in private
2)When asking for help it's really great to be concise, for instance you could have said
"I'm having trouble with a guild member, s/he alienates fellow members and doesn't participate constructively in group life. I would have kicked this person but I didn't think it was fair of me to do so. I staged a group intervention and gave this individual a warning, shape up or you're out. Did I do ok? Any thoughts, advice, criticisms?"
3) It's not enough to not name names don't talk about what happened, people don't need all the details of this person's behavior or history to give advice.
4)Thanking people for advice is good but you didn't need to keep us updated on the status of that person
5)It's ok to ask others for advice, don't get offended when people are harsh or acerbic. Tokyo was right when s/he told you that it was not cool to stage an SG wide intervention and was right to warn you about embarassing others on the forums.
6) Take all advice with a grain of salt and remember that ultimately you're the one who has to live with the consequences of your actions so when you make decisions think: is it something you may regret in the future? how would you feel if somebody did this to you?
I don't think there are any hard and fast right answers, I think you could have handled things better but that you did ok given the circumstances.
