Given some of the emotes I've seen over in GW; I could see this happening.

One thing that would be cool, for powers with alternate animations, would be the ability to set the animation to random (To allow us to have martial artists who both kicked and punched).

Sonic Blasts - it was with great effort that I got my character to 50. Overall, the sonic attack graphics are ok with me. What peeved me was the constant "pigeon head bobbing" when firing off the attacks. I get a headache from just watching my character bounce his head around. I've been avoiding the Psionic Blast set because it's a head shot type too.


Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

I would like to see a couple of TECH based costume change emotes.

1: Character taps some controls on his wrist (ala Oroborous portal) and suddenly the costume ripples open with lots of little hatches and when they close its new costume time. (I think this would be a bit complex but could look cool and a little Transformers0ish)

2: Character raises there hand and touches their ear like there's a comm-link. A massive armoured box falls from the sky (Mastermind robot style) the back of the box opens the character steps in then the from opens and they step out in their new costume.

3. Character drops a small cube/object onto the ground the cube rlls forward like a dice then unfolds out and out into a small platform, character then steps atop the platform and is bathed in a bright light/swept by a light (Vanguard cce style) and the new costume appears

I would also like to see some new flyposes.

1: The more Iron Man/Rocket Man hands held in to the side. Like what happens if you use jump to fly about

2: A mach-1/glide/dive style for winged characters. Similar to the above suggestion but also sweep wings backwards or tuck them in peregrine falcon style.

I also would like to see some of the things the competitor games are doing introduced to CoX. More animations for all powers be they weapon styles or attack postures. The ability to choose a origin point for a power or the ability to add a nonfunctional weapon (wands/staves/talismans) as powersources.

It probably doesn't count as low-hanging fruit or anything, but if there are to be any alternate blast animations at all, could we at least have the option of left- or right-handed blasts? Thanks to the robotic arm options, there's heaps of reasons you'd only want blasts to come from one hand.

And as noted above, retroactively add some tech-based costume change emotes to the Cyborg pack, since it's the only micro-expansion that didn't get any so far. Tony Stark's suitcase henshin from Iron Man 2 is probably asking too much, but it's a good place to start.

One of my favorite powers in the game is Rune of Warding. A set of alternate animations causing one to sketch out a rune then having the blast happen for the blast sets would be awesome.

If this did happen, though, ideally I would like three versions (or even just two) - 1) Rune/outline colors pull from the blast colors; 2) Runes and outlines black and white, respectively; 3) 2 reversed.

Unless you can get them to get around the two-color thing with power customization

Or what about alternative blast animations where the avatar is reading from a spellbook, and gesturing with their other hand, similar to the "research" emote?

Now obviously these are more longterm than short term but i think some folks wouldn't mind paying extra for all the things I'm gonna list. I realize most of it either won't happen or will not happen for along time but I'm going to ask anyway since it doesn't hurt to. I hope backalleybrawler is reading this

Quickly I'm just gonna get this out of the way. I want my official backalleybrawler fanclub facepalm emote.

Travel power customization
Something I'd like to see someday as another way of extending upon issue 16s power customization.

In addition to changing the colors of many different travel powers I'd like to see new variations or animations.

Flight:
Hoverdisk / Hoverboard or cloud: Can the animation for sliding on ice be re-used to an extend for standing on the added hoverboard or disk?
Anti grav boots, jetboots and jetpacks
Elemental flight such as the electric / magnetic flight that freakshow currently havve

Superspeed:
Skates/ rocket boots or a skate board
anime style run that you see in champs
Elemental animations, or things such as rock or ice appearing near your feet

Teleport:
Here I'd really like the rikti style teleporting (along with the cool sound) and maybe even use wormholes animation when teleporting.

Super Jump/combat jumping
Elemental animations again and maybe create a cool fiery explosion or electrical discharge upon landing (depending on what element)

I think travel power customization is something many of us would be willing to pay extra for.

More alternate animations for all power sets and or changes

shield defense
A personal request that I've always wanted is a change to one with the shield. I've always loved how the council ascendants use that power similar to hibernate where they are untouchable and heal over time. They just hold the shield with both arms out stretched.

Why wasn't this given to shield defense in the first place? I guess castle would need to comment on that, I'm assuming it was tech problem? Don't get me wrong, the current buff can be quite nice at times but it recharges so slowly and this power change would add some extra fluff to the set and make it look cool if you ask me.

martial arts, super strength, stone melee and the elemental melee
I'd like to see the remaining martial arts and super strength powers get new alternate animations and to see more use of the stone mallet for stone melee, more use of the fire and ice swords and a new electric sword, maybe something like a tesla coil or a hammer? (without looking too much like thors hammer ofcouse)

I now await an offical backalleybrawler facepalm.

Also, new broadsword, axe and mace animations would be wonderful. Especially two-handed variants.

I would LOVE alternate animations for Web Grenade and Smoke Grenade (in Traps and Devices) where you fire the grenade from an Assault Rifle rather than throwing it by hand. It just bugs me that my character has a Shotgun/Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle/Flamethrower/Grenade Launcher combo weapon but it doesn't shoot web and smoke grenades. Also in the interests of fairness I guess I should add an alternate animation for Sleep Grenade (in munitions mastery) where you throw it by hand instead of using an assault rifle.


Also in terms of emotes a Dance Hornpipe emote would be cool.

alternate stances would be nice. I know we are going to get stance emotes but I'm assuming you have to type those everytime you login or everytime you stop moving. I'd rather have something more permanent like how you can choose from 4 during character creation in champions.

I really, really like the Fire Blaster snipe, Blazing Bolt. It's cool how the character seems to summon it up from within and then release this torrent of flame. It's one of my favorite animations in the entire game. (Although a lot of MA and DB are sweet, as well.)

Would it be possible to get similar-yet-different animations for other energy snipes? The Bitter Ice Blast is pretty good, but Energy Blast could use an alternate animation where the character taps into their very soul to discharge a powerful volley. Maybe something a little more evocative for the Psychic snipe, Psionic Lance. Something that really looks like the character is ripping out a mental blast intended to shred the enemy's very mind. (Deep inhale, arms slowly coming overhead asymmetrically and brought down vigorously as they unleash the blast. You know, stuff like that.)

Please sir! Can we kill the 'Hulk have Rash!' movement style that the Huge models are stuck with? Because Real 'big' people just don't move like that! We may be massive and a bit ponderous, but we are Graceful too!

Also to add: female sitting emotes. Most of them are identical whereas males have more. Can we get the other sitting "animations" for females too? I remember hearing that they were limited to prevent them from having issues with upskirting. But, between males being "upskirted" while wearing kilts, creative camera angles and some combat and other animations giving ample view, skirts vanishing underwater, and people completing ignoring the skirt and just running around in their underwear, I really, really think that's a non-issue.

Also, can we get rid of /e Tarzan for powers like Tough? My highly trained, elite soldier does not need to scream like an idiot while beating his chest when I activate the power. It's concept breaking and, since I16, plays on every zone entry and costume change, meaning I can no longer simply move or jump to cancel it every time.

The "bob and weave" animation from powers like Focused Fighting and Weave would be a nice addition as an emote.

I'd also love a kneel/crouch emote like the animation used for Rest.

Could a "draw weapon" emote be created for weapon users? Sure, drawing a weapon is simple, but on occasion this has disastrous results in something like an Archery Blaster accidentally shooting the next mob three minutes after drawing his bow for effect because he took a few steps forward.

Propel is often stated as being too long. Maybe an easy effect would be to cut it down to the "talk to the hand" animation portion that currently "sends" the object towards the target and instead have the object materialize in motion instead of hovering in place. It'd be pretty cool if it came from above too. In my mind, I see the trimmed animation taking about 1/2 to 1/3 of the time. Sadly, I still haven't worked out how to upload video to YouTube from my head. Maybe Google will have a solution by 4/1/11...

Hasten as a pretty much ignorable animation since, if you have another power queued up, it plays almost instantly after Hasten starts. Can we get the same for click-mez protections like Practiced Brawler, Active Defense, and the like? After the mez changes, click mez is disadvantaged in every way to toggle mez except in endurance-over-time usage and the occasional, brief multi-stacking.

Oh, and emotes for sleeping! If there's worry about certain activities taking advantage of these, what about the curled-up-on-the-side sleep animation used by students at the University (and possibly by other NPCs elsehwere)?
