Arachnos and Rularuu for me

Rularuu because they're so alien and the PPD because it feels so villainous when you fight the real forces of law and order. I wish the PPD was as developed blueside as it is redisde, it would be so cool to watch a PPD Guardian duke it out with a Malta Titan on the street.

Hm, good question! It's a cheat, but I think I'll have to go with customs in the AE, just because you'll run across stuff you've never seen before.

Past that, I'd have to go with Rikti I guess because I still enjoy the invasions.

For sheer visual (and sound) interest I'll go with the Tuatha; I fell in love with them in the Winter event and since I don't play heroes terribly often they still seem fresh when I stumble across them somewhere. Really, all the Croatoa beasties are fun.

When I first started right after launch I can remember that the 5th Column were the first group that just looked "evil" to me...also having them openly recruiting in Steel Canyon was something I took offense to and remember spending hours street sweeping them solo so that they would never build their ranks...so the 5th are up there...

Currently I think Arachnos is my favorite group to fight ....they are just "the" group to me to pit yourself against...I also like that they are the main opposition to everyone we strive to be like in Paragon...

You can focus on it and try to force it but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient and hold still...maybe...just maybe...it will come to you. Hmmm...hard to say. I find running the ITF to just be all sorts of fun So that might make it the Cims, but just fighting?

Carnies, because it makes alot of other people cry

Malta. Not only are they fun to fight (by "fun" I mean "screw up and you're dead") but they are one of the few enemy groups that are actually, from a story perspective, scary as all hell.

My other favorite is the Rularuu. They look so cool, in a totally creepy "things that should not be" kind of way, plus, you know, they're the minions of a guy who wants to eat our dimension. Again, actually scary.

Early Arachnos, 'cause spiders are scary.

Giant metal spiders conning purple? Verrrrry scary.

And I agree with one of the early posts, early Vazh and Freakshow 'cause the individuals have so much personality.

This may come as a surprise to you, but my favorite are the 5th Column.

Freaks come as a close second.

am I the only one who likes the Sky Raiders? A US military unit gone rogue to protest the fact that the government prefers using heroes to its own army?
The engineers are annoying but otherwise the group is fun and well balanced for the level it appears at.

Cimerorans. Fighting Romans fits in perfectly with too many of my characters' back stories, and Cimerora is the prettiest zone currently in game IMO.

Praetorians. So much variety here. And given the name, there just has to be some kind of deep connection between them and the Romans.

Circle of Thorns are my go to group for late game radio missions.

I like them a lot! Even though they're strictly mid-level, we're still learning about their backstory in the final endgame arcs. I do wonder how much they're strict and militaristic, and how much they're dashing mercenary tech-thieves, but they've got bags of charm. Do wish they had another Boss-level mob, though. It doesn't make much sense for a random Sky Raiders map to end with a named jump-bot OR a Sky Skiff.

I expect it will be some time before the Midnight Club discovers that the portals to Cimerora are going, not only back in time, but sideways as well, with Cimerora actually being in the past of the Praetorian timeline, so nothing that is or isn't done in Cimerora can actually affect the history of our world.

Although I still laugh every time I do the first mission of the "The Sky Raider Secret" story arc and get to the 'boss' of the mission, a Captain named 'Douglas'.

Conceptually, I adore the Vahzilok first and foremost, as to me they're the most chilling and sinister. They're whole thing is that they kidnap people/steal dead bodies then *use* them for spare parts. Close second would be the Freakshow, for reasons Basilisk stated.

To fight, I very much enjoy the Council/5th Column because of their diversity but lack of any true strengths or weaknesses. They're not a pain to fight, but they aren't boringly easy, they are just fun.

Freaks and Nemesis.

I love the look and the personality of the Freaks. Not many villain groups will taunt you in 1337speak. Even the Freak contact, Doc Buzzsaw, is great. I make it a point to run Buzzsaw's arcs on every villain I make. "Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?"

Nemesis is great because he's behind pretty much everything that goes on in CoH. While the "everything is a Nemesis plot" feeling gets a bit old (I'm out of coffee? It's a Nemesis Plot!), I love the obsurd and drawn-out plots of Nemesis. The Automatons are my personal favorite Nemesis enemy and I even made an Automaton character.

This.

And Circle of Thorns. I think they're fun to fight and there's a good bit of variety in their groups.

Aesthetics-wise it has to be Rularuu though.

Rikti and Nemesis are my favorites. Arachnos would be up there too.

Council/5th are always fun to beat up as well.

If I feel like I want a challenge, I'll run the Gaussian arc where you fight Vanguard.

I generally like the Circle of Thorns (although I hate Spectral Demon Lords with a burning passion). I like the overall theme and the pretty Oranbegan maps. People may criticize the latter, but the artwork is something to be truly admired.

I also have a soft spot for Council, Banished Pantheon, and Rikti.
