heroes mastermind?
You know Nightshade... every time I read your name I read it as "Nightshade Lingerie".
I think this is the first time I noticed that it DIDN'T say that.
Is it really any worse than all these 'heroes' I see in Atlas with names like BLOODEATER, with bios that are far more bloodthirsty than anything I've seen on Redside?

I have the terrible feeling that I'm going to think of this every time an Arbiter says "You're doing well, Character!"
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):

They are all men with mysterious pasts, presumably so the creator doesn't actually have to write anything about them.
Paragon City Search And Rescue
The Mentor Project
But how would we know that they have mysterious pasts, unless the bio says so?
|
Many discussion threads ensue, all which mention the character's mysterious past, thereby solidifying the sheer mysteriousness of it all.
ok, regarding the detonation argument:
with free willed henchmen, why would they have the explosives rigged to them if they didn't expect them to be activated at som point? by definition, free-willed henchmen choose to work for you, and choose to fight for you in whatever way you end up asking them to. also, if they can set down the charge before running for it, then doesn't that mean there's some kind of warning before it blows?
besides, why even put a bomb on a perfectly good soldier, rather than just using a grenade? the whole thing has a feeling of said henchmen being a willing part of the plan.
and on the RP side, I greatly like the idea of RPing it as the henchmen doing it themselves, to the dismay of the mastermind.
How can you make a STALKER heroic!?!
I mean what could be MORE HEROIC than LITERALLY STABBING YOUR FOE IN THE BACK!? |
Or eliminating key people to stop atrocities or Evil from taking over.
Hmm .... Inglourious Basterds , perhaps???
and have we been given the go-ahead to say we are actually 'killing' our enemies? . . . even redside?
.
I now see why people suggested substituting kittens and frogs earlier. Whilst it doesn't fit the concept of any of my MMs, it would have made this thread a lot shorter (and less aggressive).

A serum based on the genetic disorder Riley Day Syndrome was developed and injected into my henchmen and the results are that they have total regeneration and total pain insensitivity. They feel no pain and heal completely from the most severe injuries in only a few minutes.
i can easily imagine kittens puking on enemies.
Of course we need quadrupedal skeletons in the game first. Catgirls would not be an acceptable substitute for actual kittens. Especially not the futa variety. |
/Blackadder the Fourth
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

The futa mastermind set is only available on Virtue.
It's also preferable to the Futa Assault set.
You know, one way to play a Mastermind (and, in particular, a Thugs Mastermind) and not break immersion is to play him/her as the antihero.
Yes, he'll fight crime, beat up criminals. But he'll do it for his own reasons, and sometimes reluctantly. He questions authority. He's not a hero. He tends to be larger than life. He's majorly flawed. But you can sympathize with him because of his flaws.
Popular antiheroes:
- Batman
- Sub-Mariner
- The Punisher
- Rorschach
Isn't Aquaman a fish mastermind?
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

we know that with going rogue we will be able to change faction.
but a thug mastermind HEROES? really? thug are criminal how will it fit with the lore ? |
She's supposed to be feeding Longbow information. They pay her via the occasional bank "robbery"....guess no one's noticed yet that they only take specific security deposit boxes
Thrythlind's Deviant Art Page
"Notice at the end, there: Arcanaville did the math and KICKED IT INTO EXISTENCE." - Ironik on the power of Arcanaville's math
My villain is going to be in Paragon City because he lost a bet and has to play nice for a month.
Next question.
It occurs to me that if one has to choose between having ill-fitting hero Masterminds but not playing them and not having hero Masterminds at all... Then that would be a no-brainer, wouldn't it?
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

I rolled a hero MM a while ago, a Thugs/FF who claims to be a renegade Longbow agent but is actually still an agent and is working to convince street gang members to do some good in the Isles. Funnily enough I didn't roll her with GR in mind - more an experiment to see if I could level a villain up through regular content without fighting ANY Longbow. So far so good.
(I did consider /Traps, but couldn't quite justify Detonator. I figure with FF she's picked up one of the generators used by the Ballista...)
