Its 5% higher, not 5 percentage points higher. I.e. small luck should increase from 12.5% to 13.12% (that should be 13.13% by the way Castle).

Break frees don't improve with this veteran reward. But awakens do: specifically the part that heals you as you rez should increase by 5%.

I would like one of the vet rewards to be the choice of one of those temp costumes that are given away through codes, because I work during the day and have no chance of getting them.

Seem pretty well balanced vet rewards to me.

I'd like to see the choices for the temp costumes, and vet temp power of recall friend come along still though i'm a long way off them.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

I stated my feelings about it on the first page. To recant, I was concerned about the boost being 5 percentage points added to the efficacy of any inspiration. Game breaking? No. A little more than what I think is equitable personally, yes.

Since then, it appears to be clear that the 5% boost is not 5 percentage points, but 5% of the actual value. That sits much better. I am not someone who thinks that Vet Rewards should be purchasable or that they are overpowered, but truthfully I had a knee jerk reaction to someone popping inspirations with a 5 percentage point boost at any time. I am glad that it isn't the case.

Words to the wise aren't necessary- it's the stupid ones that need them.

indeed...I'm not understanding what the hub bub is about when it's strictly PvE only.

I understood that the first time it was posted. I was just restating my opinion for DumpleBerry.

Kind of underwhelmed by the rewards. I really don't understand why the rewards would be things that tend to irk people with balance issues (+5% XYZ) rather than nifty toys to play around.

I understand the vet rewards need to be "good enough to make us vet chums feel warm inside" and "pointless enough not to make any serious impact on gaming experience" but I thought easter egg like rewards to be a lot more fun (neat looking pets, different loking sprints, see-the-map like powers, etc).

I mean hey, things like make Baby New Year shut up vet power would be so much cooler than +5% awaken effectiveness. Or a shiny floating neon bilboard above your characters head power that says "I'm a 79 month vet and I got was this stupid billboard" vet power.

I know opening up the speardsheets and writing +5% into some cell is probably much easier to implement than any of these, so there is probably a 5 min implementation time incentive bonus at work here. =P

As a returning player, that started with new account. I really don't mind veterans getting new character slots, respecs, badges, costume change tokens and costume pieces. and even access to pre-order items. I do not like however things that make the character more powerful, like the inspiration bonuses and additional or earlier skills. These give the existing players and advantage over and above their experience.

IMHO, the veteran rewards should actually be more significant, like free or half price bonus packs, discounts on expansions. But items where the in-game advantages are available to all players, they may have to pay for them (since the veteran paid for the subscriptions over the years)

Other items I would think would be great veteran rewards, but have not been awarded yet. Additional Costume Slots, Unique Colors, Unique Capes and Auras, Rename credits, additional profiles, free server transfers and additional AE publishing slots. None make the character more powerful, but allow the players to stand out and/or correct errors of the past.

Bingo!

As I predicted the next couple of Vet awards turned out to be somewhat trivial from a software development point of view because I suspect the Devs are knee-deep into their work for the Going Rogue expansion. We probably won't see a "complex" Vet award again until some time after GR goes live.

Sure I would have liked to have seen more from these, but at least I can understand why it likely didn't happen.

Appreciated, thanks--though I think I'm just not getting it. :/

Factor in that we've been getting better toys with the booster packs as well, and it's likely we may never see anything but these type of vet rewards from now on, which is fine. No one can complain when they can fork over ten bucks just like everyone else to obtain them.
