    Same still.

Cannot purchase boosters, cannot purchase Going Rogue. Cannot update my CC for playing, thus my account will be deactivated at end of the cycle.

I am also being told my requests are trigerring the risk management system.
  2. I can't purchase anything, can't update my CC info. 2 of my 4 accounts have expired since I cannot update my credit card on file. Have not been able to purchase boosters since the mutant pack came out. Was not able to purchase GR. Basically waiting for time to run out on my existing accounts and deleting the client from the local computer at this time.

Getting the same error messages as the people above, try again etc etc. Contacted support, it took something like three weeks to get the block on my account lifted (apparently trying more than once had put a block). Still can't purchase anything, cant update billing info.

Basically a six year player is getting thrown out of the game by the new ncsoft store measures (even though my location/situation have not changed for the past four years and I've never been victim of fraud on my account).

So if you randomly fell into a category that was blocked out due to 'security measures' that would be fine and everything would be working as intended right?

Sorry but the only reason you are jumping to this conclusion is because you are not affected by this. I can tell you that things are not working as intended at all on my side of the fence.

This is not a viable solution, without going into too much details I would be opening a bank account in a country where I am living temporarily just to play a game, and having to keep a monthly balance in the bank account just for CoH.

A simpler solution would be to use a VPN to appear like I am in country A and make the purchases that way. Not only is that a ridiculous hoop to jump through but it puts even more alerts on the account as your IP playing the game appears from country B but you are trying to make purchases from country A.

The IP geolocation measures, when hardwired to security measures in such draconian ways create a whole bunch of headaches and lock out legitimate people.
  5. It's been a nice six years, and unfortunately it looks like it is going to be cut short for me.

In the last months I kept having problems purchasing boosters, due to the security measures in place in the account management website, and finally since my CC expired, I can no longer update the billing info on my account management page with my new credentials as I seem not to pass the security measures.

Its quite simple really. If you are a Citizen of Country A with Baning in Country A but live in Country B for XYZ reason, the current system will classify you unsecure. Since when you live in a country like country B and are using bank accounts from country A, you must be a dirty criminal.

Last time it took me two weeks to get authorization from NC Soft support staff, after they verified I was really me... by asking obscure questions which did not have actual answers for 90% of them since my account was older than most of their security measures. Finally I was allowed to spend a few bucks to buy an in game booster pack.

Now it seems I have to jump through all these hops again to renew my billing info or even to purchase GR. Since I have, uh had, four accounts that would probably take like a month to actually get done at their speed, so... it seems I will be slowly phased out of the CoH playerbase.

Sorry if this sounded like a rant, not meant to rant but I AM upset since stopping the game was not from my choice. Unfortunately jumping through hoops and answering Call Center draft questions for weeks kind of outbalances the fun I get out of gaming.

I just wanted to post this out there to notify the situation which I thought was quite ironic, and see if maybe anyone on the same boat as me found some other means of continuing to play.

If not, it was fun, and enjoy GR, I know I would have.
  6. I've been trying to purchase the latest Mutant booster. Unfortunately I cannot seem to purchase it.

I'm in europe but play on US servers. When I go to the NCsoft store I always get redirected to the european store. Before there was a "us version also available" link below the boosters which allowed me to be redirected to the us store. Now there is none.

Nevertheless if i go ahead and purchase the 8.99euro item I will be directed to an account selection/payment screen where the item will be listed in $. I'm guessing the 'us version' is automatically selected now which seems good.

But if I try to purchase either via credit card or via paypal, the purchase will fail, asking me to try later. Since later is a broad term, I've been trying for a few hours but no success.

Anyone else having similar problems? US account/US billing for me but the IP's where I am are in europe, if that has anything to do with it.
  7. Very dissapointed in the costume sets.

This is the type of thing we got for free with an issue. Not as complete as other sets.

The mutant pack does not even have some new feet for the monstrous lower body, no new tails.

And I wont get into no chest detail, no helmet detail, no belt, no hat type detail, no detail 2 for faces.

I thought a booster pack that people would pay for would include a little more costume options than what we got with enforcer as free back in the days.

There was so much this pack could address yet did not. Monstrous legs/monstrous head types come first to mind.

You probably mean belgian and not french.
  9. I prefer Brutes to Scrappers in general. There are a few exceptions where I pick scrappers over brutes. Scrappers benefit from damage buffs MUCH more than brutes. So if you are rolling sets that buff your damage for a considerable portion of your smacking things, scrappers will have much sexier orange numbers (not talking exreme conditions but general play).

This will be moot once GR hits and Brutes can take APPs but on some builds I love Physical perfection so much, that I roll scrappers just for that.

That being said, I love fury. I love chasing fury, and I love sets such as WP and Inv on brutes. The higher HP is small but makes a difference in my play experience. For Fire/Inv I'd do brute over scrapper. But I think the biggest difference will be personal prefference.

And as always, dude, you get a friggin fist as an AT icon for brutes, how can you beat that?
  10. I'd like a Katana brute and an Energy Aura Scrapper. All white colored FM/EA Scrapper with a char size as small as could be called phow-ton ftw.

I dunno, regen making brutes overpowered is not quite what I see. I already have SR brutes that have more recovery than the 192% recharge powered attack chain can dent, so not having a blue bar that budges is definitely not a godsent from regen. High HP and +regen give survivability up to a point but I'd be surprised to have it be significantly different than the def capped WP brutes we see nowadays.

Don't get me wrong I think it would be a great and powerful set for brutes, and before the addition and proliferation of recent sets to brutes it would have been imbabbqwtfawesome but in today's SD/WP/SR goodness, I really don't see it breaking any boundaries the others don't smash as well.
  11. A vest made of money and cigars made of money in it's money pouch you mean surely.

I personally would not build that regen but, theoretically, the 'best you can make it' build is a fun thing to put together. =)
  12. Nice build Umbral, how about this tweak on your build? I think you'll like the numbers. (yes it's 2 billion inf more)

  13. Here's my build on live. It would be extremely expensive to build now but you did say cost was no issue.

    - has perma-ish soul drain,
    - attack chain is MG>Smite>SL>Smite>MG
    - will not be able to run out of endurance, even without DC AND Focussed Accuracy running
    - FA not needed really unless you like pulling the whole map of romans that stack defense on each other. In which case you fire up FA + soul drain and mow them down like they didnt have stacked defense
    - Energy torrent not used unless you want to know a few people in front of you on their ***** and laugh at them.

I have it in physical perfection, but ONLY for the +end proc. My DM/SR has three +end procs with panacea and 4 end/sec recovery. It also has 185% recharge and NEVER runs out of endurance without needing DC. I tried the build without panacea and ironically, the third +end proc seems to matter more than it should on paper.

The price IS ridiculous since I use it as a +end proc. But unless I figure out how to slot 2 +end procs into stamina, I'm using panacea on my single 'godly-toon-of-the-month'

If close to permanent Soul Drain is your goal I'd go another route. I have 15% less global recharge bonuses but my Soul Drain recharges at about the same exact time as your build does.
    Hey Sant

My attack chain is MG>Smite>SL>Smite>MG with that recharge. The attacks that are slotted with those sets that look gimp are never used, they aren't even on the power bar. They are simply filler for +def and +rech. The only attacks I use are Smite, Siphon and MG. Smite's slotting, although looks gimp, is actually only marginally worse than slotting 5 crushing impacts in it (maybe 5 damage less all the rest irrelevent due to set bonuses).

The buld looks even better on a brute, since I pick up the patron pet and slot it with blood mandate. I am however unsatisfied with the build I posted, due to tough's slotting. Not having GC and some other things in there.

Nemu is putting up some interesting builds without stamina... I wonder if it would be remotely playable though. Nightmarer also did put up two funky builds. Looks like I should be stocking up on stale e-cookies.

On the surface, it sounded ridiculous to me, but when I added up all the numbers, I'll be damned if it didn't have very impressive survivability. Even when you already have a ton of healing, more healing still helps.

I mean duh, yes, of course, Aid Self IS a benefit. For any given toon, ADDING Aid Self will make it more survivable. But there's an opportunity cost there. What are you skipping? Obviously you don't want to skip Hasten, because you want perma-ish Soul Drain and the top attack chain. You're going to want Tough and Weave. Hmmmm, I guess what you'd be dropping is Fitness, and relying on perma-Hastened Dark Consumption and Conserve Power, plus a little bit from Physical Perfection. Yeah, OK, maybe that would work. Maybe you're onto something. Hmmm. Yeah, it sounds almost impossible to pull off, but as you say, maybe one of the build fu masters can do it. And wouldn't it be cool if someone CAN come up with a practical build that meets your criteria?
Yeah, that's my wet dream come true.

I don't know... If I get hit twice within 6 seconds on a build without aid self on my SR, by two AVs, I'm dead. So basically, unless I'm fighting just ONE AV, I need the healing. On SR it is almost a non issue since I'm softcapped, have perma SD, my attack chain is MG>Smite>SL>Smite>MG with 185% recharge, and have 4 end/sec recovery without factoring in the three +end procs. I don't even HAVE dark consumption and I cannot run out of endurance. I'm using fitness, fighting, medicine, speed, body. So I cant find anything I would use instead of aid self.

Now SD looks very sexy due to the extra damage buff from AAO. But I can't make a similar build. Mind you I have not actually played the build I posted (softcapped, permahasten, no aid self) so yeah maybe, it can do fine without aid self. I guess it's time to go on test, do the ten respecs to get the IOs out of my SR and dump them onto the SD to see. But I have that nagging feeling that it wont make much of a difference. It will still be a great char to play but I'm not sure I can do the same things I do on my SR that has aid self.

Maybe it's my luck but I do get chain slapped and when I do, its usually carpet munching time. And no, not in the fun sense. =D
  17. I got no replies or offers, so maybe if you show some legs you will have better luck than I did. =)

You got me you crazy panda you. Here's a stale worm infested e-cookie. The rules didn't say it was going to be an edible e cookie now did they?

    =D

I don't know how I would survive multiple AVs or 12 bosses wailing on me at the same time without aid self. Defense is kind of 1-0 in those situations, when you get hit, you need to heal back up to 100% before a second hit lands on you, and siphon life usually does not allow me to go from 20% hp to 100% in 6 seconds.

Basically, If I could build this toon, I would transfer over all the IOs from my DM/SR that has all those requirements (much much easier to do). God knows he would not survive without Aid Self in those situations. I doubt the few points of resistance you are going to get extra from SD is going to make a difference when you're getting hit for 70% of your hp bar. SD looks very sexy due to AAO + SD.

Trouble is, looks like I DO have to give up a few things when making the same build in SD, aid self looks like one of them, but even without it, I can't seem to make 45% def M/R/A AND have permahasten+permaish soul drain. It was possible before the BotZ Change but now it looks like it went the way of the dodo.

Since I am usually amazed at the tricks people pull with slotting, I thought I'd put it up as food for thought to the build-fu-master-shifu's out there. =)

PS: If I were to drop aid self, I can get the build to where I want it but I'm not happy with the slotting of tough and dont like not having grant cover. Plus SD recharges at 35 seconds.

Yes, but some secondaries do extremely well without synergy or benefit minimally from it.

For Example: Fm/SR plays just fine, SR gets miniscule benefit from the primary and the -tohit in DM is usually overkill for SR.

As I said in my post, DA shines with synergy, without it it's... run of the mill

Both SM and DM have great tool that help DA immensely, a SS/DA, DM/DA or an SM/DA is orders of magnitude more survivable than most other /DA's (in my play experience).

    Fm/da

The main problem with FM DA is that the sets have absolutely no synergy. DA is a set that shines with synergy from the primary, without it it's pretty rough.

The look of FM DA is basically what is awesome, you're the friggin smoke monster going from mob to mob setting people on fire.

Other than that it can be a painful experience to level one up.

I did have a build that focused on stacking Cloak of Fear with Invoke panic which was extremely expensive and still sufferred fom the CoF low accuraccy. Even that is better achieved through other primaries besides FA.
  21. The best I could do, by giving up aid self was 43% def to all. Kept all other parameters though. My Build Fu is not bragworthy however.

  23. Hey

I've been trying to get this build to work but I am falling short on a few parameters. The Build Fu challenge is as follows:

    DM/SD Brute or Crapper

    -Capped Def to All
-Perma-ish Soul Drain (like 32-33 sec recharge)
    -Slotted Aid Self
-Dont gimp your attack chain (ie, midnight grasp can't have immobilize IOs in it) the build has to be viable and playable, whats the point of having perma soul drain and AAO if you have your attacks six slotted with taunt IOs.

I keep falling short on recharge or have to forgo medicine, or let go of the defense cap. Is it possible? How close can you get to it?

Oh winner gets an e-cookie and bragging rights for building the meanest, toughest damage machine to ever walk the plains of future praetoria.
  24. Hello,

I'm looking to buy 10 Enzyme Exposures blueside on freedom. If you have a bunch of these, let me know. Better if they are level 50+ but they don't have to be. Let me know your price. @Hades Trials if I am in game or a PM here would be dandy.

    Thanks
