Powerset proliferation: What do you want?
I'd like Stone Melee for Scrappers.

I actually want it all for my Scrappers. I have absolutely no objections to any of them being proliferated over.
War Mace so I can finally make my War Mace/Shield Defense Scrapper. Ice Armor for a Spines/Ice Armor. Ninjitsu for a Martial Arts/Ninjitsu. Super Strength for a Super Strength/Shield Defense.
Oh I could go on and on.

I want Spear mastery to be made
Well I'd like Stone Melee but I'd fear the nerf it would get with the scrapper damage code added to it.
Energy Aura, cant play it on a brute, no agro aura. I tried bruting without an agro aura, but life without agro has no meaning. I have no intention of stooping to stalkers so in order to play this set I need it proliferated.
I quite like Ice being unique to tanks, but if brutes ever get it then I want it on scrappers too

I can imagine the 9th tier power now!
Extreme damage, slow(7 seconds recharge), Character slowly rises up 1.2 feet and stabs the foe in the stomach if near the same height or higher and on the head if to small, and comes down really fast throwing the foe away with knockkback( he knocksback because when he comes down he really quickly changes the angle of his spear to 60 degrees higher).
I shouldn't write this here, i should write this on a piece of paper and make a thread somewhere. (hopefully there aren't already 400 of spear threads)
If they made this weapon one-handed, it would be fully-sick seeing that with bone dancers spear on stabbing the enemy with one hand.
I also think that Spears would have almost the same attack range as kinetic melee
Illusion for doms and traps for trollers. Nothing else really peaks my interest. Well stone melee for scrappers, but it would be omg OP'd.

I read through the ice melee thread today and it got me to thinking. There are some powersets that I would love to see ported from stalkers and brutes and from scrappers to brutes. WIth that in mind, it occored to me, "I'm sure there are others that have there wishes to." So call this an unofficial poll. State what powerset you would like proliferated from where, and if you want, put the reasons why, even if it is just to be overpowered, I want to hear your reasons. I'll start. Scrappers need: Super Strength, Ninjitsu, Ice Melee and Ice Armor. Ice Armor Spines ftw!! Brutes need: Regen- I seriously want a SS/Reg Brute. Imagine after you have some IO's, runnin 35ish % def, all that regen, unlimited end, click from heals, droppin foot stomp, Ko Blow, finishing a group off with full fury, then dashing off to the next and hitting dull pain. Sounds like fun to me. |
I know it's one of the last things they need, but it would be pretty overpowered with brute HP numbers. That and the fact that it would just never stop.
Willpower gets Quick Recovery, but it has 4 toggles within the set to run. Regen has ONE toggle. You could easily get by with just that one toggle and have insane passive regeneration numbers. One of the balancing points of Fury is that you can't just keep going indefinitely without some IO investment on most of the sets currently available to brutes, and the ones you CAN do it on don't get that ability until the later levels. Regen would kinda break that balance point by having gobs of end recovery by level 20 and no toggles eating into it.
If brutes ever DO get Regen, expect it to be changed from the scrapper version. A straight port would probably be overpowered enough to not happen.
Ice would be kinda cool on scrappers.
They may decide that Scrappers and Tanks get Ice while Brutes and Stalkers get Energy Aura. They play kind of similar, and with Going Rogue right around the corner you can just switch side if you really want to play on the other side with each set.

Comically enough, the problem with */Regen Brutes isn't so much that they'd be too strong: it's more that they'd be too weak. */Regen doesn't do well in even remotely close to situations that Brutes excel in (i.e. running into large groups and generating massive Fury from being attacked) because */Regen doesn't scale survivability at all. The larger hp pool and the higher HP cap would be nice and useful, but they wouldn't really provide much utility for an AT. I'm reminded of one of Arcanaville's survivability calculations that rather accurately demonstrated that even Tankers with */Regen wouldn't be even that impressive because they just wouldn't be able to take on that many enemies. In order to Brute or Tank, you really need to have a decent baseline of mitigation so that you don't just rely on an immortality curve that lets you die as soon as it gets overloaded.
I'm hoping a Regen will go through a balance pass when proliferated over to Tanks/Brutes. Always thought something like Resilience could be turned into a toggle that gives you more Resist per enemies in Melee range, up to a certain point. Whatever the case may be, think about how easily squashed a Regen would be with the Incarnate challenges. Regen, Fiery Aura, and probably others are bound to get a look at before or when the tougher stuff arrives.

I'd like a Katana brute and an Energy Aura Scrapper. All white colored FM/EA Scrapper with a char size as small as could be called phow-ton ftw.
I dunno, regen making brutes overpowered is not quite what I see. I already have SR brutes that have more recovery than the 192% recharge powered attack chain can dent, so not having a blue bar that budges is definitely not a godsent from regen. High HP and +regen give survivability up to a point but I'd be surprised to have it be significantly different than the def capped WP brutes we see nowadays.
Don't get me wrong I think it would be a great and powerful set for brutes, and before the addition and proliferation of recent sets to brutes it would have been imbabbqwtfawesome but in today's SD/WP/SR goodness, I really don't see it breaking any boundaries the others don't smash as well.

SS & Ice Melee for scrappers. SS will likely be tweaked though. Oh, and Mace for sure. It's just not right that I can't currently make a bat-wielding scrapper. And Axe. A proper berserker is an Axe/WP or Axe/Regen scrapper, not a SD/Axe tank like I got now.
BS for tankers. My armored knight looks okay w/his Mace, but he really needs his Broadsword. They might have to tweak Parry tho--giving any tank (say, Fire, Elec or Dark) basically easy def-cap to melee/lethal would be a bit too tasty (yes, scrappers do this now, but tanks aren't as damage focused, and it's easier for them to spam Parry while sacrificing some offense and still do their jobs). Also Spines, just so I can run Ice/Spines and have 3 taunt (& 2 damage) auras going at once.
Defensively, I'm pretty meh about SR tanks, Regen brutes/tanks, Eng or Ice Armor in general. I wanted ELA for tanks for the longest time, and that's turning out pretty damn meh too.
An Offensive Guide to Ice Melee
Hmm, going through it AT by AT, it turns out I want a rather lot of proliferations. Oh well...
Controllers: Dark miasma as a secondary, just because it would be oh so deliciously overpowered. Not gonna happen since they're likely to raid dark miasma for powers for dark control, but whatever.
Blasters: Natural manipulation (MA attacks, /energy style self buffs), and some sort of sword wielding secondary would both be nice.
Defenders: Fire blast and thermal, please. Mostly just fire blast, though, to be honest. It's not like most defenders actually *need* the debuffs from the blast sets anyway.
Scrappers: Ahh, so many. SS, stone melee, energy melee, mace & axe, ice melee, ice armor, ninjitsu, energy armor... basically, every melee and armor (bar stone, which I think looks fugly) set they don't already have (well, maybe not ice armor, I have a feeling it'd end up pretty darn squishy on scrappers). Scrappers are my favorite melee AT, but they're missing most of my favorite melee and one of my favorite armor powersets, which makes me sad. And I reallllllly realllllly want to be able to make a /nin scrapper so that I don't have to keep trying to make SR work for me.
Tankers: broadsword, claws, spines, energy aura, super reflexes. An ice/spines would be absolutely sick fun, and tanker mods would make EA and SR much better. SR probably won't happen, though - tanker SR plus combat jumping would be at 44.5% def on SOs alone! If it's ever proliferated, the defense will probably go down and something else (+HP, res, etc) be added to compensate.
Brutes: none. I prefer scrappers anyway (can't stand chasing a fury bar), so if scrappers get all the proliferations I want, I wouldn't really care what brutes got.
Corruptors: psychic blast, poison. They already have most of my favorite blast and support sets, thankfully. Just make sure that they get the defender version of psy, please, I prefer my blast sets intact.
Stalkers: Again, rather play a scrapper (much looser builds), so I don't really care so long as scrappers get what I'm looking for.
MM: rad. Just rad, please, and then MMs can go TAKE OVER THE WORLD MUHAHAHAHAHAHA! The thought of a bots/rad just makes me shudder.
Doms: Ah, yes, my other favorite AT. Illusion control please, and then one or more of some sort of non-elemental-themed attack sets (some combination of blade attacks, unarmed melee attacks, thrown weapon attacks, etc). Also, whip/chain assault, please. We have the tech now, we can do that. The ability to have your dominator tie up your foe with living vines and then smack them around with a spiked chain is sadly overdue.

Scrappers: Ice Armor, Stone Melee, Energy Melee if they do some more tweaking to the powerset, the nerfs were too much imo, I only like it on Stalkers in its current state.
Controllers: Dark Miasma (I honestly don't think it would be more powerful than Radiation Emission), Poison, Traps.
Stalkers: Fire Melee!
Doms: I think I'm okay with them, but super strength would be hilarious (of course, not a straight port, but like they did with earth assault, which has various Stone Melee powers). Ok thinking a bir more, Dark Assault since I love Dark Melee, it'd be very nice to have a secondary mixing powers like Siphon Life, Smite, M. Grasp, Gloom and T. Tentacles. Before you say it's too much control and mitigation because of say, Tentacles and Siphon, remember Psi Assault gets Drain Psyche, Subdue, Tk Thrust, PSW, Earth Assault gets Fissure and another hold with S. Smash, etc.
Corruptors: I had to think and check Mid's for them. Wow they have a LOT of primaries/secondaries, nothing I really want added, I still have to level a stormie, a /pain and a /dark. FF is boring to me.
MMs, Blasters, Tanks, Defs: don't care about them but I think Blasters need more secondaries.

Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?
