Nosferatu Overpowered Just a Tad?
Load on purple and drop him before they expire. Carry spares in case you haven't dropped him by the time they start blinking. 3 usually is enough for most EBs. With Nos, I generally pop 4 just to be sure because his attacks hit pretty hard if they hit.
It CAN be tough at times to get a team. (You KNOW it is a tough night when even the Blasters turn you down .) But there are a lot of folks on the forum who would log on to help you out if they have a hero on your server. It is what heroes do.
"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"
"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."
He is certainly very tough. If you can't find a teammate, you can always find a Shivan.

Council Nosferatu also spawns at a minimum level of 42 (unless they've changed that recently), so maybe gain a level doing something else and come back.
Ah, the godawful Vampire from hell...
I gotta say, wusses though Council/5th Vampyri are, Nos himself is actually worthy to call himself any sort of nosferatu.
I take it your US side, otherwise he could try and fail to chow down on mechanical Invul Tanker
Or bring my Empath to buff ya seven ways past oblivion and back, with heals
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

While I can take down Nos on my Dark Defender with a lot of use of insps (make sure you have four reds so you're doing a lot of damage), I just use up a Shivan and bippity bop he's dead.

Ah yes, Nosferatu, one of the toughest standard AV/EBs in the game.
Nosferatu is a tough mother father for anyone. Even, or maybe especially, for either my DM/Regen or my DM/WP scrapper. The only time I've gotten him solo, which I consider more parts luck than my skill, was with an MA/Inv Scrapper.
The best suggestion was to load up on Luck and Heal and then maybe pray.
Don't feel too embarrassed. My Fire/Energy Blaster got totally spanked trying to solo the Envoy of Shadow. Nos is in the Envoy's league as far as WTFness goes. That was her most intense humbling moment through her career.
And she never did actually get to learn the Envoy's true name (I'm still guessing it is Willard).
But we really REALLY don't want him nerfed.

I have a level 41 Force Field Defender that's currently soloing the Maxwell Christopher mission arc. I am at the "Capture Nosferatu & his assistants" mission. Except he two shotted me. Okay, dumb luck right? Rezzed, rested up, buffed up, hit Power Build Up, ate a medium purple and a small red. Except, two shots later, and I'm taking a dirt nap. Again. I take it I should just forget about Nosferatu and drop the mission? Yeah, yeah, I know, "Get a team!" Tried. Repeatedly. |

As frustrating as the fight, fall, rez, return, lather, rinse, repeat was when fighting him, I can only agree. Leave him as is.

Yeah, Nosferatu is an oldschool DM/Regen. He's always been a big ol' pain in the butt, moreso when he's AV class. I remember good ol' times when we'd have to search for just a little extra muscle since he refuses to go down easily. Sort of like Ms. Liberty, who'll just perpetually cycle through that Dull Pain and godmode if you can't put her down.
Last time I came against him in one of those ouro 1-man TFs I just Shivan'd him. Take that, you crazy old nazi. He still roughed the shivan up if I remember.
He is a toughie for sure.
I know of many scrappers brought down to humility by trying to defeat him without preparation.
Unusually for an EB fight, a combination of Sturdies and lucks are generally needed.

I'll usually clear the map until I find Nos and then exit to load up on inspirations. He is definitely a pain but I always feel a sense of accomplishment once I see him fall (when solo). This is the EB version...AV version I run like hell and call in reinforcements.

Anyway, as for Nos, aside from chowing down a bunch of purples, and popping the wedding band if you have it, he has that self-heal, so you need a decent amount of damage to get him down before you run out of purples. I've taken him down with multiple Blasters, but an FF defender might not have the damage output. Of course it doesn't help that half of FF's mitigation is useless against PToDs.

I've eaten enough purples to be at 60% def(all) or higher and still had that expletive-deleted damage aura of his hit me, every tick. On that same character, I was at 75% res(all), effectively, from bodyguard mode, and had him two-shot me with back-to-back melee attacks. And yes, this was with him as a +0 elite boss, in my case in the "Rise of the Council" arc in Ouroboros.
I did finally solo him on the fourth try, but it took a Shivan and all three Warburg nukes. And it was still a close fight. Yes, in my opinion (and I submitted this as a bug report when Ouroboros was in open beta), Nosferatu is more than "a tad" over-powered.
If I were doing it over again, I would skip the medium purple inspirations I was using and replace them with enough orange inspirations to hit the damage resistance cap; it's apparently flatly impossible for him to miss.
Saying stuff in caps makes it more true? Sorry, no. Nosferatu is probably the toughest to solo, but he is by no means even close to the toughest ingame.

As far as Nosferatu goes, he is incredibly tough for two reasons - one, he hits very hard, as Midnight Grasp is one of the strongest attacks NPCs have access to, and because he heals by a lot. Basically, he does a lot of damage and heals off you. Defence is important so his heal can't hit, beyond which you want damage. He likely has the same nasty auto-hit Chill of the Night as the Envoy of Shadows, but that alone isn't enough to kill you if he can't hit you. Keep in mind that his Soul Drain probably gives him extra to-hit buffs.
He's one of the nastier ones, but he's far from alone in that. Vindicator Infernal and Valkyrie are inordinately annoying, and solo Statesman just simply cheats.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

All the other stuff compounded makes him crazy, but just the CotN is enough to make him a huge pain in the butt.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

As has been mentioned earlier bring a Shivan along. That and a bunch of reds for damage was pretty much the only way I was able to defeat NOS solo on my FF defender.
Requiring such tactices IMHO doesn't make him overpowered though, just a difficult challenge for someone like a FF defender.
