Yep - the goal of fighting Crey isn't to catch Crey with their hands dirty - it's catching the Countess with her hands on the controls

I think OP has been adequately answered, just wanted to update with my latest experiences...

Ran a couple of incredibly synergistic 8-man PuGs this past weekend on Freedom, never had any trouble forming the teams or keeping them full over the course of about a 4-hour run.

Just this morning, logged in and had a full 8-man team up-n-running in under 4 minutes with NO BLIND INVITES.

This was before noon Eastern, on a Wednesday.

Granted I may have benefited from school closings due to the Midwest blizzard, but overall I find this game very healthy, and teaming very easy, fun, and rewarding.

Thanks to all the heroes who've made my last few PuGs so outstanding. If you were running with Cougarific, Dismael, or Ms. Illkin as your lead, you all did a really super job, and were tons of fun.

I would agree with this. I logged in last night (about 9:45 eastern) and within five minutes was invited to a team and finally got to lvl 26 woot! After the team ended I noticed plenty of people in broadcast looking for teams or members.

This is on Virtue which, from what I understand is one of if not the most populated server but I also have a toon on Victory which is low pop and while it looks dead I still get at least one /tell asking if I want to join a team if I'm playing a toon over there.

Usually playing one of the following toons blueside on Virtue:
Cadler 50 WP/SS tanker
Radubadu 46 Fire/Fire blaster
Hell Runner 35 Fire/Fire brute

5. Non-Constructive posts are prohibited.

Thread necromancy - Necro-posting is responding to an old discussion thread and is a form of thread ‘bumping’. If you wish to discuss a considerably older topic, create a new post and link to the older discussion.

Forbin just out of curiosity, what's the reasoning behind this?

Most boards would rather you search and revive an old thread than start a new one.

But I guess that assumes a "constructive" post being used to revive it...?

Still, even if it's *not* "constructive", wouldn't a bump of an old thread be preferable anyway in terms of not cluttering with a non-constructive *new* thread?

Just curious...

Sadly they didn't consult me when they made the rules, but they've been against necroposting for as long as I've been a member of the forums.

The worst that will probably happen that it will get locked if one of the mods notices how long the thread has lain inactive before starting up again. And since the topic of the thread is one which usually causes heated debates it's more likely to get noticed.

It's graphics aren't that great ( But we're hoping Going Rogue fixes that ), it's engine is dated and it's combat may be a little dated as well.. I also notice many of the servers ( Guardian for instance ) are nearly dead ( Almost empty ) and the most populated servers don't seem to have that many people on them in the great scheme of things.

Recently I had read that CoH released their subscriber numbers for 2009 and it rounded nearly 130,000 people ( Not quite reaching 130,000 - Something more like in the 128's or something, I think. ) and I notice quite a lot of talk.. Well, everywhere.. From CoH players, haters and lovers alike.. Frankly I'm worried for the game..

It'd be nice if NCSoft staff could answer this, but I don't hold my breath for that.. My question is.. How much is actually riding on the release of Going Rogue being successful? If it's unsuccessful, is that it? Are we looking at dealing with another Dungeon Runner or Tabula Rasa? I hope the game will be okay, but.. At the moment from looking at subscription numbers, discussion and the facts.. It looks kind of grim.

no it wont dont let the boards grief you. Your information and impressions are correct. A lot rides on GR and well the servers ARE dead. In fact the servers are VERY DEAD.

the market prices are tanking.
pvp is doom
the content is stale.
the missons stink
the nerfs are outta control
MA is stupid and nerfed(that was a whole issue)
mant tfs are broke

on so many levels this game is a shadow of itself from 3 years ago

Still farming that negative rep are you graystar? If you think this game is so terrible why are you still here? Take your negative attitude and kindly show yourself out. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Poor Gray is just frustrated because the big bad mods deleted his last doom thread. Having his thread castrated is very devastating to a guy like him.

Yes Coh-Cov is awsome, over all we like better then anything out their, it has a huge fun factor !!!. I have currantly own 2 active accounts.

Well i can only talk about european server , sure its not as bussy as it used to be pre I6 .
But then again its not quite as dead anymore compared to last year .

Just its more new players have to have luck in running into the old friendly kind .
IF you are really worried and want to do something you can always go around helping .
New people (just as long they dont abuse you)

But its not that its not growing strong , i think most people who still play in europe have 1-3 accounts nowadays . so subscription numbers dont say anything .
Its more actual number of players .

Same applies to WOW dont forget they say they have 11 million subscribers .
Doesn´t mean there are 11 million people playing it . maybe 7 tops (Thats a optimistic view consider some people have bought 5 accounts in wow and not counting the goldfarmers multi accounts must be around a million or so )

I must say the game is beter then before , where the XP was a grind fest .
There were hardly TF/SF and there were no IO to kit out .
The population is sadly the problem most became jaded .
And the economy is out of control for new people to catch up on (that issue is luckily solved with reward merits)
But in all this game has damn a lot to do , Bases to build (And everybody with 2 accounts can make there own base in no time ) Architect Entertainement , Oroboros .
Black Market , Inventions .
You can be quite bussy for a long time and where in the hell do you find a game that has this much to do ?
Maybe thats also the downfall , cause too much to do when you are new can sometimes overwhelm people .
Without proper guidance what fun they want .

I hate these kinds of threads. Final Fantasy XI had/has a "IS FFXI DIEING!?" thread almost every other day, and it pissed me off. You know what happened? It never died. We just kept talking about how it MIGHT.

FOREVER.

That's all I have to contribute. Just the general "I don't like you" statement. I shall be going now. Bye.

Part of it relates, I think, to the fact that we have had thread-necros of things such as original ED discussions, and people acting as if it's new. Also, it helps make sure some of the old really big threads can die.

I think a lot is riding on GR. I also think this is a legit question.

IMO GR will disappoint. It seems like it is a lot more of what we already have. From the signature characters to the 'alternate versions' of factions/enemies etc. I bet the mission type will be the same with a lot of the same, OLD crummy maps used again and again.

I don't think these devs quite get it but c'est la vie. I am waiting for the GR release and then decide if I jump ship or not.

This has been my experience, as well. This necro rule is counter-intuitive to me because of my experience in dozens of other places.

But, then again, they turned rep on on these boards, so I have no idea what they're thinking.

Dec out.

ITs going to be the same old stories for most of us sorry every mmo is exactly the same with every expansion ,it just reherse the same crap formula .
Sorry you keep farming if you will keep farm the big difference is the level cap raising .
Thats new for this GR , we get finally a level cap raising , so its not the end finally .
Yes once we hit the cap again , we repeat into our own old fashion of playing .

That alone can bring back a lot of people , cause finally you get progress instead of endless farming or alt leveling or whatever we all do every day .

But then again seems people who really dont play mmo anymore , wont come back either way . those who do play mmo , usually have mutlple accounts running across mmos.
Well its a way for NCSOFT to earn some money on the excisting accounts cause of the level cap raise and incarnate system .

But the real question is how many new faces is the game going to bring ?, or how many old faces will it bring back ?
Thats what matters . the rest is just going to the same old story again .

Rogue isn't raising the level cap and we're only getting one "level" of the Incarnate system with it. The other 9 "levels" will come with i19. And even those "levels" aren't really levels from what I understand.
