  1. I guess I'm still in shock, I got divorced in 2003 and I remember starting that September and have been VIP ever since.. it took me through so many life changes. I remember doing the Eden trial the first time when the divorce was finalized, it was a nice break away from all of the legal stuff and a nice gift to myself to finally be out of a bad marriage. Got my girlfriend's involved and one became my fiance..all the while CoX was a constant. She knew certain times I was gonna be logged in and sometimes would login from her house just to reach me. Really became a fabric of my life. And then with mission architect, omg, I just got addicted, writing so many stories and then even started posting them to Youtube (got 23 loaded so far). No other game even comes close to the uniqueness that CoX had... this sucks big time!
  2. Plus as I tried both as well, CO content is HORRIBLY limited!! When I tried it, they only had a few zones and I kept doing the same thing over and over again to grind just to get somewhere.
  3. Any thought to giving us perhaps a shoulder cannon similar to the IDF soldiers (I think they are mounted on their backs)
  4. With i23 and the enemy groups added including the war walkers it does add some variety. However, I do remember there being different power combinations in the beginning until they stopped it (e.g. could have an AR/DS blaster).

I do wish that object placement were better; would be great to have villains in the same spot or heroes in the same spot.
  5. Heard on the USTREAM the possibility of updating AE to reflect with the in-game powers..was wondering if anyone knows if this is true? Also, any insight on inclusion of NPCs like war walkers from praetoria?
  6. True and to me, if I'm a non-VIP and I have to pay for a set on my own character to unlock it in AE, I'm thinking its similar to costume sets, when you buy them, you can use them in AE.

It was encouraging in the other post about someone stated that the Devs said in a Ustream that the other power sets would follow but seriously, just doubting that given the little attention outside nerfing that's been done so far.

And while I do think that yes, there are a group, perhaps the majority, not sure, that are more interested in farming, it shouldn't take away from its original intent and the ability to allow us to exploit capabilities to really tell a story.

On top of that, there are mechanics we've asked for some time now, like being able to have your NPCs start in the same location or as close as possible. Granted, some of the newer indoor maps give you a better chance (e.g. praetorian maps) but there is SO MUCH that can be done with AE that they are not seeing.

  7. LOL but sadly you are soooo right!!!! I was on the Ask a Dev thing on Facebook yesterday and told them I keep bringing it up with no answer... so one of the admins said they would bring it back to the devs. I told them just come out with a damn statement of direction, if no more enhancements then just say so and be done with it, otherwise start supporting it like any other part of the game, like this is just foolish.

  8. Was glad I saw this thread. Unfortunately, we've had a few over time and the Devs don't seem to pay much attention to it at all. Quite honestly its one of the reasons I still play after almost 7 and a half years but their de facto abandonment of it has made me consider eliminating my VIP status.

In addition to missing powersets as noted previously, we also don't have some of the NPCs like warwalkers etc that would add a nice option for those that have Giant Monsters in your arcs but are tired of using the Crey Robot or the Arachnos ship.

As someone else said, I've never found such a creative outlet as AE, being able to both write compelling prose and see it acted out to some extent with NPCs and custom critters that you design. If they truly recognized its value, the potential for this part of the game is truly limitless. Even maps could be added like the ones from the latest "Who will die" arc.

I am just so frustrated and disappointed with what they've done with it though they did the same thing with bases for a looooong time. But here again, I would be happy to pay additional microstransactions to gain access to new power sets in AE, features, etc.. but damn it, just don't let it die on the vine.

IS THERE ANY DEV AT ALL THATS LISTENING??!! I'M TIRED OF REPEATING THE SAME STUFF IN EACH THREAD!!!!!!
  9. Honestly they really haven't added much new to in quite a long time. Even just some of the powersets that have been out now for awhile (beam rifle anyone?) or things like Warwalkers, etc.. I asked a couple of times on those streaming chats they have from time to time but pretty much got ignored.
  10. Same problem here, I opened up a problem report and keep asking on the forums but none of the devs will reply. I am starting to wonder if they will ever fix it!!!
  11. Is there still an issue with the mission architect where you cannot use any of the options in test mode? I opened up a problem report but never received a response
  12. Does anyone know if you still have issues with using test mode options?

I get the impression more often than not things are changed in ae because someone looks at them and finds, "oh noes! You can make way too hard (tm) or too weak (tm) enemies with it!", or "oh noes! You can make missions objectives that make little sense or may fail!", or, heaven forbid, "oh noes! You can make an arc that is not our idea of balanced approved fun!"... *

but you can never assure that every mission by every player makes perfect plot objective sense, is perfectly balanced for everyone, and is great "fun", especially not in everyone's eyes.

So i'd prefer the devs stop trying that, and leaving those options so people can make interesting out-of-the-box missions. Because that is what i find fun.

    * or watching someone farm, and thinking, "i'll teach you! Revenge!" and wreck something that was used to make the farm to show them evil farmers, yeah, take that, then walk away smugly, leaving everyone that used the now forbidden feature in their stories to mourn over the ruins of their work.

    i22 AE Changes?

Yeah, I opened up a problem but they said they are already working on it..wow..thought it would be fixed by now

  15. Any idea when more capability will be added to mission architect. Like warwalkers, beam rifle, etc?

    i22 AE Changes?

    Anybody else run into this:

When I select a local AE story to run, once inside, I am unable to select any of the options (e.g. Become Invisible, Invincible, Jump to next objective, etc).

Sort of tough to test out new arcs if this is going to be the new norm.

  19. Hi Bubba,

Thank you for starting this; in the other forums you have to be nominated by others but that's hard sometimes if you are not in an active SG, etc.

I'll post my list and then look to play at least 2 arcs this weekend.

Thanks again!! MA is such a unique and valuable tool, its great to see the community trying to keep it alive!

    The Goal

The goal of this club is to create plays and feedback on arcs that aren't getting played from authors who care about their arcs but aren't getting anything in return.

    How to Join

It's simple, play at least two arcs a month and give feedback to the author. That keeps your arc(s) on the playlist. The more you participate, the more of your arcs get put on the list. Members can also nominate good, but not played arcs that they enjoyed to help fill out our list of arcs. You don't have to give detailed feedback, but please post here mentioning which arc(s) you played and briefly share what you thought of it. Also, please check if your arc is broken before posting it here.
  20. I would agree, I've used it with Single, and for indoor missions, its easier to select and actually effect a spawn spot.
  21. They all look great, but option A reminds me too much of the jet packs used by the skyraiders
  22. I was assuming with Shivans coming to the fore in the intro in Galaxy City and their link to the Coming Storm that the latter will liven things up a bit.
  23. I would have to agree. I did in fact play Certified Other and while I reveled in realizing my wish of having a character with different emanation points for its powers (different shoulder mounted options, palm-based lasers..hmm sounds familiar lol) once I kept shooting down baddies in the desert or in the ice, I um..er, got bored.

However, when playing that game, I also kept my CoX account (always will) as the appreciable amount of lore and actual content far surpassed that "CoH2" attempt. I also played that other new super hero MMO and was so confounded by the console controls forced on a PC that I gave up. And though it has loads of IP, and shiny graphics, the level of customization for characters was sorely outdone by our "old" game.

So to me, I think we have plenty of life in this old gal, and as someone else pointed out, its vastly different from when I started in 2004 (I think I got a bit misty when we got color customization..).

I would like to see them do more work on AE as its such a unique gem across all other games presently; sometimes the devs seem to have ADD and jump from one thing to the next; would be great to spend time on things which continue to differentiate it from the pack.

It's better than a lot of the current competition, and suggesting they scrap what they have and start over is just silly in this age of instant gratification/condemnation upon anything 'new'. Much less, a sequel.

Barter for a new engine if you like, or a system you don't currently care for. I would wager such things will fall upons more interested ears than wanting a sequel to this game.

I fully admit, I could be wrong, but I wouldn't speak as confidently as I do if I didn't feel otherwise.
