Thank Goodness It's Mission Architect Thursday!

Hello, Architects!

Dr. Aeon here, wanting to let you all know about a new initiative that we’re starting here with the community to find the next arcs worthy of Dev Choice! Every week, members of our community team will be playing arcs that they find in AE or that you suggest here on this forum topic to see if they are eligible for Dev Choice, and you can also participate with them!

Avatea will post more information below regarding teaming up with the community team; what I’ll be covering are guidelines for suggesting new Dev Choice arcs.

1. We are no longer limiting it to just 1 Dev Choice per play, so feel free to post suggestions of Dev Choices from players who have already received them.

2. You can only post suggestions for other people’s arcs.

3. No criticizing of what other people post as suggestions.


That’s it! Simple, right? Of course, being an incredible genius, I can’t tell what’s simple and what’s not anymore, as everything is simple for me.

We will be gathering a number of arcs that will be eligible for Dev Choice and then marking them as such once per month, which will be accompanied by a post here on the forums explaining why we felt this was a great arc.

As Dr. Aeon mentioned, members of the Paragon Studios Community team will be jumping onto a random server every Thursday (or at least most Thusdays), starting June 30, to test a Mission Architect arc that we've either seen in this thread, or which we have discovered through ... other means! *nefarious laugh*

We will be sending out an admin message on the server we'll be visiting in order to gather a full team but it will be on a first come first serve basis so mind that pesky red messaging every Thursday!

Get ready for T.G.I.M.A.T. (Thank Goodness It's Mission Architect Thursday!) soon on a server near you!

I am not big into the architect, but I think this is a wonderful idea.

May I suggest that you declare a certain zone when you visit so that we don't have to bounce between just about every zone to find you.

A humorous look at Paragon City history and a villain group that manages to be challenging without being frustrating.

Back to the AE it is, then, to fix my arcs! (Hopefully that whole CF with the profanity filter has been fixed)

Arc #444732 - Fresh off the Flier is a story arc that I really enjoyed playing through. It's designed around being played at level 1-10 as a substitute for doing Burke or Kalinda's arc redside, which I found to be interesting and thoughtful.

Maybe we should only nominate arcs that have been broken by the filter. Imagine how annoying it must be to select arc after arc only to find that they're unplayable....oh wait, I don't have to imagine.

The filter is not fixed. Fix it please. Finish one thing before moving on to the next.

Hey all, we know that Dr. A already knows about the filter issue. This isn't the place to make a stink about it.

We've been asking him to make more Dev Choices and he's delivering. Let's keep it civil, respectful, and on-topic, lest we look like ungrateful brats.

Actually, some of the people in here were bringing up a valid concern, considering Aeon'll be looking for good arcs and their profanity filter is preventing certain good arcs from being noticed.

Besides, no issue can get too much notice. And this is still kind of a big issue.

I can't tell you how much this cheer's me up (something I desperately need atm). My suggestion is to check out the "Recommendations For Dev's Choice" thread towards the top of this forum since it contains most of what you are looking for already. Thanks Dev Team!

The Heart of a Gemstone (ID 504716)

A decent number of custom enemies, and a tragic love story you can make untragic (is that even a word?).

Don't have a recommendation off the top of my head, BUT it's great to see this taking root. I'll be watching!

I'm really glad to hear that the Devs are starting a regular event involving Mission Architect and I'm also glad to hear that this will result in more Dev's Choice arcs further down the line. The Architect could always use some more love, so I hope this will bring a bit more needed attention to the system. As for some suggestions for the community team to run, there's been many good suggestions here and I would also suggest checking out PW's contact tree for numerous arcs that have been generally agreed to be good quality. As for my personal suggestions(Bear in mind that I've played relatively few of the more famous arcs)...

There's plenty more I like beyond those ones but many were already listed here or are in the contact tree thread I posted. I haven't tested to see if these ones are still working after the profanity/copyright issues but I certainly hope they are.

I'm looking forward to seeing which arcs you play and which ones you decide to make into Dev's Choice arcs!

Not the most intricate storyline ever, but it's a quality lowbie arc (which is sometimes hard to find, in my experience) and I adore the mission text.

I just re-ran both, and verified that they weren't broken by the filter.
