Thank Goodness It's Mission Architect Thursday!
Great initiative!!
My arcs are still broken because of the filter, so I guess I will be watching the lucky nominees turn into new Dev Choices. I'll try to post nominations when I find time.
Good luck to you guys!

I can't tell you how much this cheer's me up (something I desperately need atm). My suggestion is to check out the "Recommendations For Dev's Choice" thread towards the top of this forum since it contains most of what you are looking for already. Thanks Dev Team!

It seems like a good idea to consider arcs from the previous recommendation thread as well as arcs posted here. I don't see it at the top, so here is the link:

Also, thanks to the Dev Team for this!

Well, I have one suggestion too
Grim and the Green Arc ID:61156 Heroic by @Quinch
There are already some great arcs posted here, as well as suggestions you look into the long lists of good arcs other players have posted in the past and at past Player Choice winners, but I'd like to suggest two arcs that I didn't see get singled out:
#379488 "Storming Citadel" by @MrCaptainMan
MCM has sadly apparently left us due to the broken AE foofaraw, but this is a great arc and if he does come back and find he's got a DC, that would be great.
#25295 "The Extadine Lab" by @Vanden
I played this on the AE team and thought it was very fun.
I know both of these are 'short' (one mish) and might be seen as being less-than-epic because of that, but who says every DC has to be an epically told epic story of epic proportions?
A couple of suggestions, arcs about Cimerora of course!
# 175660 "The Heart of Talos: a warriors task force" by @Djinniman
Great arc, with humor and very nice customs
# 89438 "Facing the darkness" by @Leandro
Loved the customs here as well
# 60280 "Dr Dave and the Copper Legion" by @TheHedoren
For Cimerora!

Thanks to @EnsonsDeath for the GVE code that made me VIP again!
I'll drop by here in the future with suggestions once I understand what exactly it is you are all considering to be "Dev Choice"... if it's confined to "canon"-related and so-forth.
For now, I'll keep it simple by seconding Bubbawheat's suggestion of:
"Fear and Loathing on Striga" #350522 by @FredrikSvanberg

I haven't left! I'm still subbed and despite the dispiriting effect of the Profanity Filter, NCSoft still has my money for the time being, even if I'm not playing very often. Needless to say, I would LOVE a DC for Storming Citadel lol.
I myself think the Devs should look at arcs by WN, Policewoman, Arrowrose, Bubnawheat, Tubbius and Clave_Dark_5 for deserving DC contenders.

MArcs:
The Echo, Arc ID 1688 (5mish, easy, drama)
The Audition, Arc ID 221240 (6 mish, complex mech, comedy)
Storming Citadel, Arc ID 379488 (lowbie, 1mish, 10-min timed)
Glad to see you're still around, MCM. I'll be sending you a PM regarding one of my arcs.
I'm out of signature space! Arcs by Tubbius of Justice are HERE: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=218177
Made to Wave the Flag #384775 by @LaserJesus
Bricked Electronics #2180 by @GlaziusF
I second these suggestions, already made by other posters.
#8925 Forget the Rose, Send Me the Thorns
#60197 Becky's Revenge
While some (a few) of the nominations are arcs I haven't played, the ones that are are all arcs that I'd think deserve consideration for Dev's choice. I'll only add one more to the list (for now):
Freaks, Geeks, and Men in Black (ID#161629)
I still think it's one of the best I've played.
M.A. Arcs
Intended for high level play: The Primus Trilogy (Arc #s 10931, 283821, 283825), "Freakshow U" (Arc #189073), Purification (Arc #352381, Dev's Choice! )
Intended for low level play: "Learning the Ropes" (Arc #100304), "Cracking Skulls" (Arc #115935), "The Lazarus Project" (Arc #124906)
Speaking of being a spoiled brat...
I was wondering why they still want to be so stingy with a DC designation. I mean, after a thread like this, they probably won't be able to swing a dead cat in the AE in a month of Sundays... er, Thursdays... without hitting an number of arcs worthy of a DC. Why not just pass one out whenever they find a really good arc? By Christmas we'll only have six more DCs, you know? Why not make it twelve, or more?
The more great content that floats to the top of the AE, the better the AE looks to all the players, after all.

How many Thursdays have we had so far?

I'd assume the limitation is based on the community team having time to actually play them/review them first.

If this is now the only way to get DCs awarded, then all that's needed is one excuse a week and we'll never get any more lol.

MCM, go back and read the 2nd post. Avatea spells it all out:
As Dr. Aeon mentioned, members of the Paragon Studios Community team will be jumping onto a random server every Thursday (or at least most Thusdays), starting June 30, to test a Mission Architect arc that we've either seen in this thread, or which we have discovered through ... other means! *nefarious laugh* |
Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
I'll throw my two cents worth in...
Missing Arc#41922
and
Big Daddy's Dilemma Arc#333680
(This is what happens when you take the 4 most infamous pl missions in the game and write a story around them)
48 L50 Mostly heroes and mostly Tanks and Scrappers.
And I've played every AT to 50 at least once.
...not holding my breath.

If this is being done... shouldnt we get a mentioning here of the latest picked DC after they are picked! Or are the devs also drowning in farm missions when they try and select an arc?
- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

I'm also guessing we won't see one of those until the end of July as they seem to be choosing to play arcs on Thursdays for a month and then selecting one of those.
So for this Mission Architect Thursday we played Arc #60197 - Becky's Revenge.
It was, like, totally awesome, fer sure.
Have you played this arc before? What did you think? Thanks for the fun Protector!
Note: this isn't necessarily the Dev Choice arc, just letting you all know which one we played .
Don't forget to keep nominating Arcs!
Thanks everyone!

I would have hoped that someone might have nominated my story, 'The Saga of the Sisters Dawn', except for what you see broken in my sig causes it to never be able to be finished, so it's not available.
Good luck to those who get nominated though! I'll be running a few just to see what's goin' on with them.

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
