  1. Nobody mentioned the scene where Iron Man mocks Thor in Shakespearian english? I thought it was hysterically funny.

Fantastic movie, easily the best super-hero (if not even action in general) flick.
  2. I am still trying to understand why people compare these two games.

It's like comparing "A link to the past" to "Mass Effect 3" because they are both rpgs. Would you do that? Would you argue that one game is better or more "unique" than the other in rpgdom? (the examples chosen were not done so randomly by the way...)

I just see two completely different experiences, sharing only that one label (mmorpg).
  3. Grats to all the winners!

And a big thank you to Bubbawheat for his perseverance!
  4. Last categories.

The best heroic or vigilante arcs was probably the most difficult category...

Best Arc - Heroic or Vigilante

    1. When The Words Stop #494099 by @Clave_Dark_5 (Most original arc I have experienced so far. I can understand that some people may have difficulties with it. It is, however, very refreshing to not have the feeling that you're just reading mission briefings and debriefings, as seen in so many arcs. It is also undeniably memorable)

    2. A Very Special Episode #457506 by @Wrong Number (Great writing and feel)

    Also:

Best Arc - Villain or Rogue

    2. Interdimensional Headache #459592 by @Nebulhym
  5. Back for the next category!

It was really hard to decide the number 1 for this category as two of the arcs were really really excellent. I wasn't able to finish the third arc (mission 3 was bugged), which started quite well, but based on the first two missions, the other arcs were already much better.

    Here goes:

    Best Arc - Lowbie.

    1. Cole in Your Stocking #474611 by @Venture (Brilliant ideas though somewhat monotonous. Still a fantastic arc)

    2. The Blue Devils #468738 by @Flame Kitten (aka Coulomb2) (Nothing to say, a really outstanding arc...)
  6. Hey Coulomb2, thanks a lot for the review!

I am really glad you enjoyed it. I am thinking about creating a "purely" villainous version of the arc where only the last mission would be different.

If I do, I'll make sure to put it in your queue!

Dr. Mafred Ludak of the Arachnos Exploratory Science Division needs your help What could possibly go wrong? Newly-discovered dimension Sigma Tau 6-1 has some OVER 9000 psi energy readings he wants you to check out. This leads to exploration of another dimension and encouters with some unexpected characters from back home.

The contact's dialog is very well-written; slightly affected with some quirky humor. The firs act is very evocative (the later two, less so). There's a lot of triggered activity that keeps the maps from being forty guys pounding their fists in a warehouse.

An objective in act II I was supposed to lead an NPC to was functional before I arrived with the escort. (Yes, I passed the hostage and cleared the path first.) A hostage in act III had the default bio for his rank. Act III also has an overpowering ally hostage. It's optional at least, but I expect at least some players will be forced to take it if they don't have the stealth needed to slip by or a fortunate out-of-the-way spawn location. The arc powerposes your villain as going straight at the end which is likely to disagree with a fair number of players. The enemy factions are all custom mobs, some of which are interesting but the majority are pretty vanilla.

It's a good run and fairly quick (three acts). I'd recommend it for red-side characters with a science-fiction bent.
Thank you for the review. There is nothing I would add, I pretty much agree with the analysis.

Regarding the "going straight" at the end, the arc was created (in only two weeks, while usually it takes me at least a month) for Dr Aeon's third challenge. Some people recommended I changed the end since the challenge is over.

I might create a "pure villain" version now that we have unlimited AE slots. I am still deciding on that.
  8. So I take a break from the game, a couple of months, then I get drawn to it thanks to the autumn aura (yeah I know....), and when I log in, I receive a couple of /tells about my nominated arc! Looks like I should take breaks more often
Anyway, thank you for organizing this and thank you PW for nominating me!

Here's my first run of nominated arcs:

    Best Arc - Comedy.

    1. Whack a Mole: Lambda Sector #508837 by @Bubbawheat (technically perfect and a good parody)

    2. Dating Ms Liberty Isn't Easy #464550 by @Jinkobi (Lots of great ideas and cool funny customs)

    Oh I missed that part. Gosh, I hope we don't get a 5th tier...new ultra-ultra-rare salvage?

Then I don't see how we can "ascend even higher". Why release a much more powerful alpha slot and make it a " must have", thus invalidating the old ones.

It's also possible that they remain very vague so that they don't promise the next slots and can't deliver them if something unexpected happens at the last minute...

the way I read this was : We are releasing some of the slots above lore and destiny...Wishful thinking?
  12. Yes please!

Animal pack 2. Bring it on! I am saving points for this...

    Pretty please?
  13. Hello!

I am slowly (very slowly...) returning to AE.

Here is my submission for September:

    Arc# 459592: Interdimensional Headache.

This was my entry for Dr. Aeon's third architect contest.

    Enjoy!
  14. After the copyright filter broke both my arcs I decided to go ahead and fix them by "cheating"...

Of feathers and fur is now fixed and playable again. I just had to change Daedalus to DaedaIus....lame but it worked.

However, the other arc, From tartarus with love is still broken because of Silver ( yeah....) and Colossus. I tried everything, CoIossus, CoIosse, KoIossos, nothing worked. Anybody has other ideas? The arc remains unplayable....
  15. Happy birthday David!

Someone draw him a cake, quickly!
  16. Easy first: Animal pack.

But, really, I love them all.
  17. The GOOD:

TFs & SFs*ITF (still the best TF in the game)
    *Eden Trial (just epic)
    *LGTF
*Katie Hannon (Croatoa) TF (I deliberately didn't say KHTF as many may have forgotten that piece of content...)
    *New Positron
    *Hess TF
    *Apex and Tin Mage
    Then
    *Villain Respecs
    *Operative Renaut SF
    *LRSF
    *Ice Mistral

    The Incarnate raids

    The Tip Missions

The story arcs introduced after the arrival of Dr Aeon

    The AE...still...

    THE BAD:

DR Q TF and most of the shard TFs

    Citadel TF
  18. *Looks at the new thread title*

    Better?
  19. Magnetism, magnetism, magnetism!

In the sense of metals manipulation. Could be a control, a buff/debuff or an assault set
  20. Any update to the cursed list coming soon?

I don't think they added anything to it since Dr Aeon's last post...

    Pretty please?
  21. Fantastic thread! I use these "tricks" a lot.

Hopefully I can learn a thing or two. Keep up the good work!

I was just about to say the prices look right!
  23. Fantastic news!

Titan weapons looks like a brute's dream come true. Momentum and fury should work together quite nicely.

The new zone's level range looks a bit odd. From the screenshots, it feels like there's way too much awesome for that level range. You really want to make lvl 20 to 24 in Paragon or in the Isles look terrible now!

I did suggest that as a tier 9 power (targeted aoe on long recharge, -1 level to all), like 5 years ago. Even brought it up to Castle during the GR beta when we learnt about super inspirations bumping your level.

Even if you made it unstackable, it would make any character with time manipulation pretty popular, maybe too popular...And imagine the effects on PvP...
