First off I'd like to thank everyone who participated in this year's nominations and voting. I know that the AE has fallen off of many people's radars, and the bugs have turned many others away from it. But there are still great story arcs being made and played and these are definitely some of the best from this year.

The largest and closest races is

Best Heroic or Vigilante Arc

In 5th place with 1 first place vote for a total of 2 points is The Ouroboros Chronicles: the Tales of Nemesis #522236 by @Neon Rider

In 4th place with 1 first place vote and 5 second place votes for a total of 7 points is When The Words Stop #494099 by @Clave_Dark_5

In 3rd place with 1 first place vote and 6 second place votes for a total of 8 points is Legacy of a Rogue #459586 by @Night-Girl

In 2nd place with 5 first place votes and 4 second place votes for a total of 14 points is A Very Special Episode #457506 by @Wrong Number

And the winner with 6 first place votes and 2 second place votes for a total of 14 points is A Mosaic of Shattered Dreams #497506 by @Avonlea

All of the arcs were great fun to play and it was great to see such a close race with the tie in points being broken by Mosaic which got one more first place vote. Congratulations!

And for some lightheartedness I'll move onto

Best Comedy Arc

In 3rd place with 2 first place votes and 5 second place votes for a total of 9 points is Dating Ms Liberty Isn't Easy #464550 by @Jinkobi

In 2nd place with 4 first place votes and 2 second place votes for a total of 10 points is Whack a Mole: Lambda Sector #508837 by @Bubbawheat

And the winner with 4 first place votes and 4 second place votes for a total of 12 points is Crime is Art and Art is Crime #517859 by @Twoflower

And on to the darkside where we take a look at

Best Villainous or Rogue Arc

In 3rd place with 1 first place vote and 8 second place votes for a total of 10 points is Interdimensional Headache #459592 by @Nebulhym

In 2nd place with 6 first place votes and 1 second place vote for a total of 13 points is Grunty McFisterson's Two Step Guide to Winning Respect #519044 by @Twoflower

And the winner with 5 first place votes and 5 second place votes for a total of 15 points is Arena #456200 by @FredrikSvanberg

Best Lowbie Arc

In 3rd place with 3 first place votes and 3 second place votes for a total of 9 points is Tutorial Arc 3: Dark Harvest #470181 by @Khonshu

In 2nd place with 4 first place votes and 9 second place votes for a total of 17 points is Cole in Your Stocking #474611 by @Venture

And the winner with 10 first place votes and 6 second place votes for a total of 26 points, the most of this year's competition is The Blue Devils #468738 by @Flame Kitten (aka Coulomb2)

Some statistics, because I like sharing these.

The 2009 Player's Choice awards had 9 categories, 45 arcs, 250 posts in the voting thread and a combined over 14,000 views.

The 2010 Player's Choice awards had 6 categories, 32 arcs, 56 posts in the voting thread and a combined over 6,000 views.

The 2011 Player's Choice awards had 4 categories, 14 arcs and 42 posts in the voting thread.

I'm of course disappointed I didn't win, but still surprised I was even nominated! Congratulations to everyone who did win though!

Whee! Thanks -- tough competition there, too!

Feedback on the arc really helped it. Partway into the voting, someone made the suggestion of giving the villain a hipster chick sidekick, and it strengthened the story overall. I was also able to remove a plot hole and fix some other lingering issues. Gotta love the AE community; we strengthen each other's work.

I've got more arcs to roll out, just haven't had time because Paragon Studios made too damn compelling of a game to PLAY for me to take time out to write. But, I've got time off coming soon, I can get some polish on 'em and roll them out the door...

Wow, thanks! This one was a nail-biter, but I guess it's not surprising considering how terrific all the entries were. It was a blast playing all of them. But honestly it was great just having the arc played and getting such awesome feedback!

I like the idea on its face, but I'd fear we'd end up with a ton more entries and not enough time to play them; that I think is what we need more of.

Late to the game, but I wanted to thank Bubbawheat for running the contest, and wanted to thank everyone who played my arc - after all, it *is* a great feeling to win, but the fact that the arc practically doubled in plays is the best reward of all.

That would be the beauty of it; you could play the arcs year-round also, instead of trying to cram as many plays as possible into a few weeks right before the holidays.
