Being able to make your character better buy paying extra money is it's downfall.

I mean with the RMTs out there being hated on...this is very hypocritical of the devs.

Pretty soon every decked out character is only going to be those who spend more money.
The rich get richer and poor get poorer.
Booster packs do nothing to enhance the abilities of your toon. They are not any kind of special enhancements to make your toon stronger/do more damage/heal more etc.

In short, stop whining. Thank you.

I deleted this post (which you can read where people quoted me) because I have found out that you cannot have CJ toggled while Ninja Run is toggled.

I've watched the video display...and it DOES look rather cool, I'm just not sure of it's actual effects.
Ninja Run (I wanted to call if Wuxia, but was overruled...) is better than sprint by a pretty good margin. It's better than Combat Jumping, in terms of speed, as well.

Now all we need is a Girly Run or maybe the Run-Around-Flailing animation that all of the civvies do through both Paragon and the Rogue Isles.

edit: castle was my first...after redname.

I never thought travel powers were that hard to get. Especially when you consider how quickly levelling through the lower levels occur.

I see your concern, though it feels a bit "slippery slope" to me. But, from a completely selfish point of view, I'm strictly PvE, so I don't share your concerns.

Are you competing in the special olympics? Did I miss the start time to the "fastest without a travel power" event, again?

Ninja Run

.46 end/sec

+695% jump height

+136.95% jump speed

+140% run speed

And it looks cool as hell flipping

Description: Imagine speed boost and combat jumping on steroids. With flips.

But RMT cash goes.... elsewhere and booster packs got me power customization and GR. You do the math.

First please allow me to preface the following by saying: I have just bought the Ninja pack and applied the code to my account. I have bought every booster pack immediately upon release. I didn't see much in the Cyborg pack that interested me, but I have since then found uses for a few of the costume pieces, and I really enjoy Self Destruct. Nothing much in the Super Science pack (as far as costume pieces) excited me, but I also found some uses for a few of those costume pieces as well.* So what I'm trying to say is, even though I don't play much for ninja characters, I'm sure I'll find a few things in this pack that I will enjoy.

But my question/concern is this: When we rotate through all five origins, what then? Are we going to start over and get even more pieces? Will we have other booster packs to look forward to? I guess it boils down to the fact that we're close to the end of the Origin packs now, and there are still a lot of costume options I was hoping for that we're not going to see this round. Will there be another round to address more requests?

And, just because I can:
Total number of characters: 97**

Total number of characters which use the _ pack in their primary costume***:
Wedding: 14
Valkyrie: 19
Cyborg: 5
Magic: 15
Super Science: 5

*I am keeping my fingers crossed for animal heads/tails in the mutant pack. It may oust the Valkyrie and Magic packs for most-oft used, if it does. Maybe.
**I am not allowing myself to roll any new toons until GR. Then I'll roll about 20.
***I've found a couple of toons who were missing tags, so the numbers above may not be wholly accurate. But they're close. Also note that these bits get used in a lot of non-primary costumes, which is not represented here. I guarantee more than 19 toons are using Valkyrie bits, that's been my favorite pack so far.

What's next? More slippery slope arguments, I'm sure

If you want to check out real nickel & diming, head over to that other super hero MMO

Back on topic: Kind of on the fence for this pack, since I don't roll too many Natural characters... but this could revitalize the one I do have... and that run power looks freakin' sweet... oof, tough decision

Anyone know how this compares to super speed? Redtomax lists super speed as +3.5
I'm not sure what percentage that means.

It could be a potential advantage in pvp. It's important to move and move fast in there.

Oh well, I threw my money at this one anyway.

I just went and bought this- I hope that cool armoured robe isn't male only, I've got some ladies who would like it.
Anyone who can get us screenshots, please do! I won't have time to log in until later

Just bought it and checked it out real quick. It detoggles SJ, CJ and SS. I'm sure it detoggles Hover and Fly too.

So there's no advantage in PVP with it.

I hate losing the defense that CJ gives but it does look pretty cool.

I might bug it and see if we can at least get CJ not to detoggle.

Oh, nice. Won't hurt so bad when I roll lowbies now. ("AHHH! I forgot how SLOW lowbies are!! *sob*)

Oh come ON!!!!

I bought it right away because of my OCD on this booster system. And then I went to check out the costume pieces.

The first thing I noticed where the boots and I was like "Boy, these would look GREAT under Flared Pants as an alternative to the crappy Sneakers we have in-game right now!"

Then I go to actually check that hypothesis, and guess what!

We're not allowed to have 'em under pants!!!

COME ON!!!!!

Please, guys! Please please please please please, can we PLEASE have them enabled under pants as well?!

It's funny, I brought up this idea as a different option for travel in a Suggestions and Ideas thread about 3 or 4 months ago. My idea was to have a travel power that had run speed faster than sprint, but slower than super speed and also had more jump boost than combat jumping but less than super jump....all in one power with new run/jump animations for the more "natural" type of characters.

This idea was met with 3 or 4 pages of trolls telling me how stupid I was was and the idea was idiotic. Well....just wanted to say HA HA BITE ME!

Thank you.

You can run both Ninja Runa and sprint at the same time for a bit more speed.

My mind is battling. On one side of the arena is "You're selling a better power than can be earned"... on the other is "But run and jump don't really affect gameplay that much, so shut up"...

Not sure who will win.
Edit: Considering what little problem I've had with Mystic Fortune and Self-Destruct, the second half won.

and also "costs .46 end/sec"

Wow, expensive power! Glad it jumps higher than CJ, but sad that you lose the defense bonus. I hope we can slot it for endredux. I know it's not meant to be used in combat, but do you know how often I forget to turn off sprint? (Not complaining! Just commenting!)

Can we get the slash commands for the costume changes? Please? I prefer binds for costume changes using an emote.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

I think that reads as enhancement over other players who choose not to buy it. Especially as it doesn't occupy a power slot. And apparently combines SS with SJ. But I may be wrong.

I'd actually like to use it in combat. Ninja run up to an enemy, jump and forward flip. Eagles claw, dragon sweep, crane kick, flip back down the hallway to get away. /em bringit, clean up, /em pushup.

But CJ is an important part of my ninja's build.

Decisions decisions decisions.
