Well, Ninja Run is exactly the same, only, you don't need to take Super Jump now as your travel power, leaving you free to take some other power.
This is what I immediatly did on my Martial Arts / Super Reflex Scrapper Yim Wing-Chun... I respeced Super Jump out to only leave in Hasten and Combat Jump. Freeing a space for another power there.

Its logical... as long as the Ninja Run fits youre concept and is ok for you to use as travel. In her case it is... Ninja Run + Swift + Quickness + Sprint = win!

Not sure if they know about this...

But the old Martial Arts robes clip at the back of even a female toon during the leaps while Ninja Run is toggled on. Also the sashes made to be used with these robes are now higher in the back and clip incredible with the robe.

On the up-side, there are rumors that this is just the "first round" of origin based packs, and we can look forward to a Natural Booster II! *waggles eyebrows*

I don't know why everybody is getting miffed that there weren't quivers and scabbards in this booster. Frankly, I'd be pretty ticked off if I were forced to pay to get them in a booster when the community has been clamoring to get them (along with things like backpacks and jetpacks) for years.

[/Devil'sAdvocate] >_>

Seriously, though. If they add quivers, scabbards and the like to the game, I'm pretty sure they'll be part of either a standard Issue release or a full expansion like Going Rogue.

Didn't stop them from adding body-scale changes to a pay pack. vv

On a lighter note, I'm hoping that we do get the stuff for GR. Right now it seems like Jay is pretty busy (so is BABs for that matter? And we don't even know what he's working on). Since GR isn't going to be a stand-alone, it's going to need a lot of stuff to draw us in. People like me are going to buy it anyway of course. But to release an expansion that doesn't have at least the amount of costume parts that CoV had would be kinda weak.

There's also the comment BABs made recently about how a broken shoulder part looked like a quiver. We can take that one of two ways. One, just the silly fans jumping to conclusions over anything uttered by a redname and assuming that's confirmation of things to come, or two, BABs knows we love to do that and is tugging our strings with unconfirmed teasers. Either way, I want me some back options.

Then add new beast heads like Bird, Bull, Horse, Shark, Gorilla, Baboon, Snake, Ant, Bee, Spider, etc... Then they should make new claws animation for open hands with claws that look like bird talons, werewolf claws, webbed hands with claws, insect hands with claws, etc...
This. Though I hope this will be the Mutant booster.

Oh and I am FINALLY getting around to making a ninja blade/sr stalker. I might have a heart attack from the influx of ninja awesome, but know I will die happy.

Yeah I was kinda wondering if that was a nod too. Here's hoping!

Eh, scabbards might be fun. But I cant help but think they would clip with everything and look horrible. And be pointless for all but those FEW powers that even use them.

Then again, if it keeps people from pulling katanas out of their colons...

I don't see how they could possibly clip more than capes, wings, and spider backpack.

And I don't think not many people being able to use them is that good either. Pretty much all the origin-based packs are, in theory, based on something that only 1/5th of the characters would be able to use (possibly less for overly specific ones like cyborg pack). And I would submit that wedding and valkyrie are, at face value, much more niche than sheaths and holsters.

But nice parts can be fitted into a lot more scenarios than you might initially think. You'd be surprised at who might use things. I've seen people who don't have any guns outfitted with ammo belts. A sheath over your back that has a katana might be a neat thing to have on just about any sort of ninja or natural weapon-user regardless of whether or not they actually USE a katana.

I was thinking of hip-based scabbards. But that makes more sense. Then that begs another question. Quivvers are easy, as arrows are more or less the same. But if your aiming for scabbards, wouldnt you need one for every type of sword?

And what about bow people? Will they get to see their tool of destruction slung across their back? For that matter, where DOES one keep a frankengun?

It seems to be a big load of work for me, the end result just being: Scabbards! They hold things while your not being awesome with them!

But in the end, its the redname's decision as to what they do and not do. Regardless of player imput. So if they go for it, good for them. It will just be met with a decent amount of 'Meh' from me. *shrug*

First, thank you for another fun Super Booster. Well worth the bucks.

I'm disappointed that my dual blades scrapper, Ossum Possum, can't fully enjoy his new sizzlin kung fu robe because, once again, tails are not available with robes. I find this curious, since robes already have a slit up the back that should reasonably allow a tail to protrude. If this is an issue of clipping, there are a great many clipping issues in the game that surely look far more awkward than a tail poking out of a toons's backside. In fact, I have been able to pull off some unique and effective looks only because some pieces clip and overlap.

It's not like I have tails on every hero and villain, but I am a purist and *hate* radically amputating a toon's limb just to wear a new costume piece, however sweet it looks. Show tails some love for pitty's sake. The ones we have access to are kind of sad and undignified as it is... at least let us try to proudly sport our tails with the widest range of costume options possible.

I realize this probably meandered right into Jay's territory, so I'll post there as well. I did feel the point was relevant to the Booster Pack, however.

Thanks!

I already have a costume saved and ready to go, which would look even better with a quiver. She's not an archer... but since when do we have to use costume parts for their original purpose? I've made a cow's snout out of a gas mask. I use the jester masks as bird beaks all the time. I have a Widow themed character (not a VEAT, though) who uses the tux tails (I stole the idea). I can't wait for quivers.. *sly grin* bwaAHAHhAhAH!

I wouldn't know where to begin telling how hard it would be to code Ninja Run into looking like Free Running...

The Beta is full of bugs? How can that be?!

Ninja Run is kinda cool. I just wish it were slottable. Were it in a power pool I would grab it despite having it already just to have a slottable version. If it were the third power in the pool and the first two powers did absolutely nothing, I would grab a nothing power and Ninja Run in order to have a slottable version. And I would six-slot it with 2 End Reds, 2 Runs, and 2 Jumps.

CO just got quivers, and sidearms.

I'm hoping that we see them here very soon.

BAB seemed to give a little hint about that - and I don't think it's something he'd do just to tease us

As far as your "Ninja Run" video, that's not ninja running. Aside from the stuff where they climb/cling to walls and ledges, there's not a lot of stuff in that video that the current Ninja Run doesn't do already.

BABs has also said that no, there is currently NO WAY WHATSOEVER to change animations for travel powers. The travel powers are set up differently than ordinary attacks, so they can't swap out animations the same way. (I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that movement is almost entirely player-controlled when using a travel powers, whereas an attack just runs an animation script when activated.)

Also, as far as your costume ideas? Pretty much every one of those can be approximated done using existing costume options, save for the Naruto Hokage's robes which can't be done because they can't give players long robes due to severe animation clipping issues. They tried, and it didn't work, so it's on the backburner almost indefinitely. A good number of those costume options aren't standard ninja fare anyway, like the Shinobi four-glowing-lights-on-the-helmet thing, and they'd probably get sued by Sega for adding something like that specifically to a ninja set.

Finally, they're done with Super Booster IV. It's finished. They might fix up some of the costume pieces a bit, such as giving female models a better texture to use with the Tai Gloves and repairing a couple minor clipping issues, but they're not adding anything else to the pack.

It is incredibly unlikely that they'll release another ninja-like costume pack again anytime in the near future, because there are many, many more options that players have been clamoring for (cowboys, military and Medieval soldier, just to list other Natural-themed options) that would cater to a wider audience and thus be a better option financially.

So probably the only way to customize them would be to have identical vesion of the each power, but with unique animations?
Like the Flight pool would have Fly 1, Fly 2, Fly 3 and Fly 4 in it, for example, all available at level 14.

Although I appreciate how cool this ninja run move is (it's brilliant) and a lot of effort has obviously ben put in by the developers to make sure it interacts well with the combinations of swords and shields I would have loved to have seen the flipping animations attached to super jump or the new runing animation with super speed minus all the effects.

*I'm sorry if this is a repeat question.* I'm a long time player who rarely visits the forums.

Is there a place where we can discuss suggestions for upcoming booster packs? I heard a rumor that the next booster is to be a "Mutant" themed booster. Anyone know if that's being discussed here in the forums somewhere I just can't find? And if not, can we start a new topic to discuss it? Maybe I'll start my own if no one else has.
