Praetoria is NOT "goatee" Paragon

At HeroCon, I went to the lore session where they explained the background of Praetoria. Joe Morrissey and the other guy (who's name, I'm embarrassed to admit, I don't know) made it clear that, as far as the new lore goes, Praetoria is an alternate timeline where things went a bit differently.

Joe said, as an example, the Superman comic Red Son.

In that world, like ours, Marcus Cole tries to make the world a better place. In our world, he saves it, and then leaves it to us to mess up again, over and over. In Praetorian Earth, the Korean War went a bit differently, and he decided to act to make the world a better place permanently.

A utopia, but with a price.

Joe also said that the new Praetoria lore will eventually be retconned back into the Portal Corps missions. Although the new character models will be in those missions on release.

I don't remember all the details, but I do remember thinking how much background has gone into Praetoria. There is no Clockwork King. Joe explained how, with extra leisure time, Praetoria has developed more science, art, and culture. The Clockwork are there to do the menial jobs. The Other Guy said, "If your hobby is manual labor, you'll really have to work at it."

Also, there is no Nemesis in Praetorian Earth. Also, the Devouring Earth are a lot more powerful there than they are in our world.

TL;DR version: It's not opposite world. Just a different timeline.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Wait, so, Praetorian Blue Steel isn't a good cop?

We don't know if he's there or not. Yet.

So it's been stated by Hero1 that Praetoria has no Clockwork King? Hrmm. Are there any other details you can give me about what was said of the Clockwork King?

No, not that I remember. They talked about the Clockwork themselves, and the roles they play in society.

Pffttt.... not that they know of.

Surely there must be a present arc in GR that explains about the clockwork king or a future possible one. Seems a bit strange to have robots named "clockwork" without having a bit of story about their creator this side of the dimension.

Quite glad now that the evil Praetorian version of my SS/invuln Tanker actually comes from War World (a world that Battle Maiden comes from and recruits the people into her army) rather than Praetoria. She's not 'evil' in the "muwhahaha take over the world" sense she just has a good love of violence since that's how things on War World operate, you're either an Elder, a Warrior, a Magic user or you're a nobody (nobody as in you don't have fame and the spoils of war lavished upon you...instead you do the farming and other such actually important duties that sustain the wars but the battle obsessed world sees as unimportant).

There isn't - and there isn't one about the Praetorian Nemesis either.

Right. Psychic Clockwork, level 40-50 Banished Pantheon, and Nemesis Rex come from different dimensions which are totally unrelated to Praetoria.

That reminds me of a huge continuity gap with regard to the Praetorians:

The Primal Earth Phalanx and Vindicators all are from Primal Earth; but, many of their Praetorian counterparts each have their own 'World.'

Wha?

If Portal tech is something they just discovered in Praetoria, then how did Tyrant hook up with all these goatee-counterparts from various dimensions?

Far as I remember, only Battle Maiden is stated to be from outside Praetoria. I figured that the others simply spread out since apparently one planet was not enough for them all.

Didn't the Praetorian Infernal come from an alternate world where demon-binding is common the same way our Infernal did? And if so...what does that say about a certain part of our Infernal's backstory, being that he is NOT native to Primal Earth?

Magic? Praetoria seems tech oriented, and might not be able to duplicate such. Or perhaps some sort of natural rifts between worlds.

Or, they'll just retcon that out of existence.

Yup it's mentioned in his background, rather than being encouraged to 'go easy' with the demon binding, He was actively encouraged to bind more and more demons by Diabloque until their power corrupted him completely.

Wait...but if the heroes of Paragon and the villains of the Rogue Isles are now moving in to Praetoria...doesn't that mean old brass bucket face is going to follow them?

I mean he's already experienced with portal travel (no spoilers here so not telling you how) or atleast being able to chuck automatons through a portal so aren't we going to be the ones introducing Nemesis to Praetoria.

Oh god! I've just realised...surely people will follow heroes and villains through the portals, Praetoria is rich pickings for those that can carve their niche out there. I imagine Primal Earth's Lord Recluse is more than willing to have a punch up with Tyrant.

Ooooh question...

Wouldn't Reichsman like to bringeth the smacketh down on Tyrant, I mean he's got a serious hate-on for Statesman so wouldn't Tyrant be another version of himself he needed to defeat in order to increase his power...or has he already done so during the 5th TF/SF?

Hmm...there's something I wouldn't mind seeing...the 4 versions of Statesman having a massive ruckass, Imperious, Tyrant, Statesman and Reichsman, who would win?

In game terms, I think they'd rank:

1 - Reichsman
2 - Statesman
3 - Tyrant
4 - Imperious

But in a comic, the winner would be whoever the writer chose to win

I dunno..... a lot of the Praetorians are getting the once over, Tyrant (Emperor Cole) just might inherit some new powers that change his ranking on that list.
