I also do not believe most people looking for a controller are going to differentiate much between Earth or Ice anyway.

At any rate, I'll just chime in with StratoNexus and say control is control to most teams. Anyone looking for a ice controller would most likely confirm it before inviting him anyway.

This is coming from a guy that made an entire AE group with critters that were all intentionally misnamed for their powersets.
Ex:
Archery / Dual Blades minions named "Ice Tanker"
I've long considered making a tanker named "empathy defender," but alas - the name is no longer available.

I have a Katana/Energy Stalker named Roboninjitsu. Yeah, people assume I was /ninjitsu, but no one seemed upset when they found out I wasn't. I think Ice and Earth control would be the same way. You supply something similar anyway.

I just put my powerset in my LFT comment space and figure that's good enough. If anyone invites my TA/A Defender thinking they were getting someone with heals based on the little shield icon, it ain't on me.

When I look for members, based on ATs, it's never been by what powersets they had in that AT, just that they were that AT.
I just hope they don't neglect their power sets.

Anyway, back to the OP. Most people recruit by AT, and only freak out over Powersets when they've got a very specific goal in mind, or else when they don't know that much about how this game works and convince themselves that Granite Armor or Fulcrum Shift or whatever is the magic key to party success and must always be sought after. The only time one control set is more desired than another in my observation is getting someone who can sleep AVs on the LRSF.

i usually list my sets in the lft box anyway.
Nothing wrong with naming yourself Winter Something and using Earth/Earth. Names do not have to directly reference your powersets anyway.
