What I don't miss
Being an MM Lackey that summoned all your pets, only to have your mentor Recalled before you, or run off before you noticed, so that you look up and see all your pets collapse will not be missed either.

You're getting too far away from your mentor.
Your mentor is too far away! Your mentor is assisting you again. You're getting too far away from your mentor. Your mentor is too far away! Your mentor is assisting you again. Yeah, it was pretty long, actually. However, if you are on a bad team, or if you were doing any sort of Strike Force that you didn't kill your way through, it happened pretty regularly.

Not to mention the strange implications of those messages appearing as thought bubbles over your character's head. Makes your character seem like a neurotic mess.
"Your mentor's getting too far away from you! What's wrong with you?" *character begins hitting himself in the head* "Stupid, stupid, STUPID!"

Amen!
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Yup. I can't belive anyone would ask for old sk system back. Simply because that and the MM crippling were so very un-fun.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Best QoL improvement of this issue. The SSK system provides what it promises, ease of teaming.
I'm especially glad this is gone because I stopped receiving those messages a while back, so I never knew when my sidekick was out of range (of course, I usually realized when my mentor was out of range, but not always immediately). I never did get around to contacting support about it, and now I don't have to.

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
This change is so good it made me wonder why the game wasn't always this way.

Bill, you're 100% on this one; to hell with the old messages, and Helloooo super-sidekicks!

The Way of the Corruptor (Arc ID 49834): Hey villains! Do something for yourself for a change--like twisting the elements to your will. All that's standing in your way are a few secret societies...and Champions of the four elements.
Oh my god that was annoying. Due to that alone I was very unwilling to Lackey on my MM. Odds are if I was invited to a team and had to Lackey up, I would politely let them know i hate LK'ing on my MM and leave the team.

That said, yes. I agree with the op like 10000000x and even said so in a somewhat meaningless positive rep.

*dryly* How can you possibly miss the mentor and lackey leash game.
What I hated more:
My sidekick is too far away to assist
I can assist my sidekick again
My sidekick is getting too far away to assist
My sidekick is too far away to assist
I can assist my sidekick again
All my heroes were thinking of holding sidekick auditions; the first test would be of their ability to keep up.
My villains held lackey auditions, and the ones that couldn't keep up were taken to Grandville and team-recalled into the Gutter. They say that sometimes at night you can still hear them scream....

Totally agree with Bill, though, the mentor leash was a pain in the but and it's good riddance to bad rubbish. Doubly so because I like to pick teleport as a travel power.
My story arcs: #2370- Noah Reborn, #18672- The Clockwork War, #31490- Easy Money
Sartre once said, "Hell is other people." What does that make an MMO?

(Which of course, makes no sense given the devs have stated how low the % was of PL'ers brdging, but since when did those types ever take evidence and reason into question.)
I love the new system. I've always loved exemplaring, because for me I play characters because I like them, not for the XP (which explains why I abandon so many characters in their 20s and 30s). Under the old system, it was 20 questions trying to get a team to exemplar you. (Or it was, ooh look, a 50....let's beg him for money!).
It was annoying, to say the least.
Not anymore. (The magical OK switch went off in everyone's head making what I had always done into expected behavior now).
Now I jump on any character I want to play, including a 50, and play anything I want. If someone is doing a cool arc and sends out a LFM message, I just jump in and we have a grand old time.
Beautiful system!
