What's YOUR strongest build?

One common thread that I find pops up quite often is the "What's the strongest AT or Build". That always seems to come up with the same half dozen answers time after time.

What I'm asking now is out of your stable of characters which one/ones kick the most butt? Either through sheer destructive ability or through fun-ness of play. (Yes, I did just make up a word.) Alternately, which would you call your weakest?

For me, I'm going to go with Pyrphoros, my Shield/Fire Tank. He's able to take almost anything you dish out at him, plus he can bring the pain in a major way. Honorable mention to Caesura, my Sonic/Traps main villain, who makes the good guys curl up and cry for mommy.

What about you?

My story arcs: #2370- Noah Reborn, #18672- The Clockwork War, #31490- Easy Money

Sartre once said, "Hell is other people." What does that make an MMO?

I found my Scrapper with Broadsword & Shield Defence remarkably effective and fun to play.
So much so that I made her my avatar.

Depends on how you define "strongest" I suppose...

For Pure Indestructibility:
Ninja/Storm Summoning Mastermind (25th level and no deaths yet)

For Pure Armageddon-Like Destruction:
Fire Blast/Devices Blaster

For Awesome One-on-One Boss Battling:
Claws/Regen Scrapper

My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw

Definitely my Bots/Force field Mastermind. Stupidly powerful compared to any other character I have.

my fire/rad controller is a super survivable engine of destruction.

but when I want all out carnage, I log in my fire/ice blaster.

Hmmmm.... I have too many.

I could go with my Fire/SS tank (and namesake.) Or my 50 Warshade, for the double-mired joy of it. Or my Thug/Poison Mastermind. Or my Fire/Fire blaster, for the mob-melting goodness. Or... *shrug* Who knows.

For me, since I only play heroside, it's an Ice Armor/Fiery Melee Tanker. I love being able to solo +4/x8/+boss missions. Council and CoT are easy. Rikti are also easy but the Chief Soldiers can do some damage if two or more hit consecutively. Arachnos and Carnies are tougher requiring judicious inspiration use, but even they eventually go down.

For the most fun and just plain awesome, I got to say my widow. I do have her max'd out with IO's, though. Pre-I16, I would street hunt in RWZ with her against the higher level groups of mobs. Now I am finding the new diff settings really, really fun for missions.

However, for raw power, I have to go with my Bots/Storm MM. Something about soloing AVs and the destruction she causes. I still remember my 1st solo AV fight and having that "wow" feeling after winning.

Interestingly, both are red side. My blue side toons just don't give me that same powerful feeling as the two above.

Ultimate Damz - illusion/rad/fire. Not even anywhere near IO'd out compared to most of my characters, however the playstyle suits me so perfect that it has also become the character that just FEELS unbeatable. None of my characters can even come close to the power it has! Other characters might be better in one or two departments, but this one . . . . is almost perfect in everything

@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

My Ice/Kin controller. I swear she does things that just defy sense - like freezing the Flyer.

and Vahz, long before IOs even came out she still could put the stop to an EB without help and an AV with a little work.

Wow, thats a daaaaamn big popsicle
Although I do notice a team-mate there. Elec/something, though, not sure it there would be a hold to stack.

Myself? My Bots/Traps duoed Positron with a friend, also on Bots/Traps. Great fun. So much explosives ^^
My indesctructable invul/em tank is good fun, too, while my DB/DA Brute makes me focus so much on hittingBROOTSMARSH! that its unbelievable.

I like all my builds. None of them are really weak, which I think is the beauty of CityOf. Your always good at something.

My softcapped BS/DA scrapper.

Before I got his build up to snuff he was good. Now he's almost completely unkillable.

Softcapped to all positions, minimum of 30% resistance to all damage types, with upwards of 50% psi resistance to deal with the non-positional psi attacks, and the best self heal in the game add up to one helluva strong toon.

My weakest is probably my fire/fire blaster. He puts out ungodly huge amounts of damage, but he doesn't survive very well.

My claws/sr. Even without specializing his build (by that I mean going ST on one and AoE on the second,) I've soloed all the primary TFs, taken down numerous AVs, and have fun running at +4/x8/yes/yes difficulty.

Be well, people of CoH.

My TanCrab. With Survivablity numbers ourperforming a shield or Ice tank, Provoke, 4 group toggles, and a bunch of AoEs, He's basically an unstoppable killing machine that I've used to prove tanks/brutes aren't the end-all beat-all.

Hmmmm...

Tie between my Dark/Elec brute and my Earth/Fire perma-dom. The brute's my only extant character who's soloed AVs, but on the other hand, the dominator adds way, way, way more to a team. They both have some problems soloing x8 difficulty missions, though, apart from the brute versus groups that primarily do energy damage (Rikti!). Curious to see how my Thugs/Poison MM does against those.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Thug Dark Mastermind
Hovering Crab Spider
Illusion/Storm Controller

Definitely my 3 toughest, though not my most favorite (close but not the top)

Hm. I have a couple, but all are strong in their own ways.

Mind/psi dominator: she can control just about everything the game comes up with, locking down/confusing masses of elite bosses without a sweat. Her AoE is pretty decent, especially after soul drain, but her true strength is her control. The entire snoozing freedom phalanx told you so. (note, this is partly due to io bonuses making those big control come back twice per fight.)

Bots/ff mastermind: not the offensive powerhouse bots/traps is, but tougher. I fought silver mantis as an av and never had to re-summon, no bot ever went below half health. The only limit was endurance.

Energy melee/dark armor brute.: an odd thing, as he has enough control to shut down 3 bosses and their spawns continually,(near him) enough damage to take out AV's, and enough toughness to take a team's worth of aggro. He doesn't fare well against damage spikes, though, but a self-rez and full 1% to 100% health heal helps this.

Broadsword/regen scrapper: a character that was on invincible as soon as he get his DO's. Defense+healing+regen=win.

archery/energy melee blaster: sans all but the first melee, this is my 'sniper' build, with a permanent boosted range, she is able to wipe out entire mobs from sniper range. anything tough enough to survive the rain of arrows and explosive arrow dies by subsequent shots before reaching me.

Kinetics/electric defender: not much damage on its own, but it can neuter an entire spawn's ability to fight back all the while damage capping my team. I'd call that strong.

For the feeling of raw, brutal power: Ms. Exquisite Agony, my SS/Elec/Mu Brute. She was a monster before I16 - now, with dark lightning, ground punching, and Energize, she's a carnival of carnage.

For being an unshakable mountain: Sadishir, my Stone/Stone Tank. She fights villains and doesn't afraid of anything.

I like my others as well, to varying degrees, but I come back to these two pretty often.

My close to HP capped Rad/Therm Corruptor. The only EB I ever had trouble against was Ice Mistral because of the slows, but that was pre-IOs.

Has a self-heal, awesome debuffs, procced up N-Bolt, nice damage, Hibernate for reset button, lots of fun.

I'm partial to my namesake, a Mind/FF Controller as well. She'll never farm maps in under two minutes but she makes teams safer and has enough tools in her primary that mobs just don't attack.

Honorable mention to my Thugs/Poison Mastermind, Storm/Sonic Defender and Illusion/Rad Controller, all retired because they got boring.

I only have one build currently: a claws/dark armor scrapper.

(though, I do feel altitis sinking in...)

It's useful so far. Claws attacks don't use a lot of endurance, so I only run out if I'm in a long fight. Once I get better IOs I think I'll do much better.

Death shroud is awesome though. A nice AoE DoT for the inevitable mob of enemies you run into while leveling. My main weakness is knockdown/back, which I'm hoping to remedy with acrobatics and IOs.

But if I made a brute... hm...
