Quote:I want this as long as it is accompanied by /em kiltlift.Actually, if it could be a different walk toggle where your character pulled out a set of bagpipes and started playing Scotland the Brave and walked forward while playing.
Tell you what I don't know what Emperor Cole would make of a large group of Resistance heroes being led into battle by the sound of the Bagpipes...
...well I do know...he'd and any of his men would terrified...nothing like Bagpipes and kilts to scare the hell out of people who have never seen/heared them before.
Some people say the sound of Bagpipes is unsettling...personally I love 'em.
And you can't beat the sound of the pipes and drums! -
Quote:Not really a unique situation.y'know, if/when there's a Marvel MMO on the market, all they need to do is have you meet Spider-Man in the tutorial and any possible doubt over whether you'll return from death is removed. I think there's maybe 3 people in his life who haven't been dead at some point and got better.
Have any significant comic-book characters ever stayed dead?

If someone wants to spend a huge amount of time to pass Inf from one side to the other then good luck to them. I know people will try it but I can't imagine any significant amount ever being passed in relation to the total inf pool.
I think its a lot more important to gameplay that co-op teams can pass Insps to teammates. Its quite frustrating being the only villain on a team and faceplanting then having to go to hospital even though all seven of your teammates have a tray full of wakies.
Good choice by the devs. -
Quote:I wonder how PVP plays out for Rogues/Vigilantes? Can they enter PVP Zones from either side?Im sooo having one of my characters be "in the middle" on a perma basis!
Or will they be neutrals?
As the Great Philosopher says:
"What makes a good man go neutral? Lust for gold? Power?
Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?"
"I hate these filthy neutrals, Kif. With enemies you know where they stand but with neutrals, who knows? It ... sickens me." -

"What? This old thing? It was just the first thing I came to in the wardrobe.......................................... ................of weird!!"

* Your friends mock you because even though you have wings you still can't fly till you're 14!

Its always Union and Defiant at the top of my lists!
I understand that there may be some, shall we say, "colonial" servers but I think the less said about them the better! -
...and then perhaps refuse to let you in because you're wearing trainers?

Great game, great people making it and great people playing it.
What more could you want? -
Definitely my Bots/Force field Mastermind. Stupidly powerful compared to any other character I have.

We just did Atta tonight. The six of us had a lot of fun and although it is a long mission, it feels like an achievement when you complete it rather than a drag. I think it stands out from the other missions in the same way Frostfire seems to. Its a bit of a landmark at that point in the game. The problem with the lab type multi-level missions is that they don't really feel like any kind of achievement, just something to get out of the way. Atta seems to have more of a point, maybe just because you have a named bad guy to deal with.

Quote:Thank you!Ta-da!: The New Defender Order
As I think you'll agree, it more than adequately proves that other ATs do not make Defenders redundant, Defenders make other ATs redundant. -
Quote:You do have a good point(which I kind of expected somebody to makeAha, was wondering when this would come up.
Whilst, yes, Defenders do what blasters do "to a lesser extent" it is, as you say, and as I have pointed out, a rather large difference. Yes, the difference in (de)buffs between Controllers and Defenders is there, but it is significantly less than the difference in damage (I refer back to my annecdote earlier).
Another point is that whilst Defenders have Controllers metaphorically breathing down their neck, Blasters are very much of their own in the "glass cannon" approach from my point of view. Defenders are more of an, er, "Glass Medi Pack"...if you see what I mean?), but the two situations are still slightly different. As has been stated by Catwhoorg a defenders effectiveness scales differently dependent on team size. If I add a blaster to a team then I get X amount of damage. If I add a defender or another (de)buffer, the overall effect is much harder to quantify.
eg comparing duos with a Controller/Blaster and Defender/Blaster, the level of buffing the blaster receives will be greater with the defender than with the controller but not by a huge amount and of course the controller has all that lovely control (and damage). However in a larger team that difference multiplied by a greater number of team members will be significantly larger.
That is the strength of the defender, but also the weakness because defenders really only excel significantly over controllers when team sizes are larger. The problem fast approaching is what will happen to defenders after Going Rogue? Then they won't be competing for team space just with controllers but corruptors and masterminds too. -
Quote:You could say then that blasters are redundant as...... Controllers can do the same thing - although to a lesser extent - and ... control.
Defenders can do the same thing- although to a lesser extent - and .. buff/debuff etc
I appreciate that a Defender's damage output is significantly less than a blaster but there is a noticable difference between controller and defender buff/debuffs. I don't tend to play defenders myself but I have seen a marked difference in teams when a defender has come aboard. I think the problem is that buff/debuff effects are not as overtly visible as damage dealing or tanking and their effect is not always appreciated(until they are gone!)
On a lighter note, I don't think it can be long before the manifesto of the New Defender Order makes an appearance. I don't know if I saved it somewhere and I can't remember who actually produced it, but if anyone has a copy please post it. -
Good and evil are subjective. There are no absolutes.
These are labels that a society or other social group apply to actions. The definition varies considerably depending on the person or persons defining it. -
Quote:Its a bit like the Star Wars thing where first you want to be Luke then you realise that Han is cooler, but eventually you realise that you really want to be Vader! Now it seems to me that Recluse might have gotten the better part of the deal...
Recluse has his own nation.
Statesman is still just a government sanctioned vigilante.
Recluse has thousands of loyal followers willing to die at his command. Statesman has to resort to public service announcements to get anything done.
Recluse is surrounded by hundreds of beautiful, deadly women wearing skin tight clothing.
Statesman has to pretend he's not peeking at Sister Psyche.
Recluse has the option to maim, punish, humiliate, or even kill anyone that annoys him.
Statesman has to "be better than that."
Although they may fear him, people secretly think Recluse is "kinda cool"
People think Statesman is a jerk and laugh at him behind his back for having a stupid hat.
So, who got the better deal?
(Now of course I realise that I actually want to be Yoda! Although I probably look more like Jabba!) -
"Aw. I badly need a wee. Thank God there's a toilet just around the cor... oh bugger!"

Quote:You forgot:* The Swedes start demanding a copyright fee for every version of Thor or the other Norse gods running around Paragon.
* When fighting breaks out between the other Forumites the Swedes take a strict stance of neutrality and refuse to comment.

* The Swedes insist that all Robots from Robotics Masterminds have the option of an IKEA custmomization insignia.
All superbases start to look very similar and no-one can make sense of the names for the different items. eg "Why is my teleporter suddenly called Plonkeg?"
